RayfromUSA: Certainly.

As far back as the last months of the election it was reported that the Obama team had a policy of invading internet forums to flood them with pro-Obama propaganda. There is at least one person doing exactly that at CS. And in the political realm you can bet that with every crisis there are whole teams of professional propagandists forging posts all over the internet.

It's an info-war, for our minds.

This is sure a propaganda . Have seen this during the time of Iran unrest too .Gullible people are made to believe this as a serious discussion . laugh

Malta will be sending six Air Malta flights to Djerba in Tunisia to evacuate some 900 Egyptians and return them to Cairo as its contribution to the humanitarian operation on the Tunisia-Libya border, Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Mifsud Bonnici said this evening.

Addressing a media briefing, the minister said that the cost of these flights would be covered by the Maltese government.

The Indian government has sought Malta's assistance for the evacuation of most of the 18,000 Indian workers in Libya.

Some workers have already been evacuated on a ship from Benghazi and taken to Alexandria, Egypt, but India would now like to focus its operation through Malta.

The Indian effort is being coordinated by Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao.

India is to charter additional ships to carry the workers from Libya to Malta and will deploy a number of aircraft for the operation.

Good job Zeus! Referring to my (accidentally) similar Thread “Libya: Are US and EU Pushing for Civil War to Justify an US-NATO Military Intervention?” I'd like to add:

-The (armed) civil war has formally begun.
-Over 400.000 US-NATO troops concentrated, mainly in Crete.
-An aircraft carrier came there as well, to “evacuate”.
-Hilary Clinton speaks about “Humanitarian aid”.

Ordinary people in Extraordinary Circumstances:

The Libyan crisis came on to us unexpectedly, and has mobilised hundreds of nations and several thousands of people. Just in our little Island over the past 15 days, I've seen politicians, authorities, police, military, civil protection and above all ordinary people. From the former we may have people who are trained to handle the unexpected but amongst the latter we find ordinary people in ordinary jobs who found themselves in rather extraordinary circumstances.

Amongst these we find the crew of the two Maltese Catamarans who from ferrying tourists over to nearby Sicily found themselves in an ongoing shuttle service to pulling out desperate people out of a war-zone.

"We feel part of this important evacuation process that is going on," said Mariella, 46, who has been working with the company for 22 years.

Mariella who serves as a pursor on the "San Gwann" is surely not used to eight-hour trips in gruelling sea conditions let alone spending the better part of the past 2 weeks within a harbour only miles away from armed combat.

"On our first voyage to Libya we had passengers with us for two days as we were stuck in the port in Tripoli because of bad weather. They were of different nationalities and we got to know each other... When we finally got to Malta it was an emotional moment and some came to thank us crew members with hugs and kisses," she said.

Captain Noel Galea agrees there is satisfaction to the job although unfortunately, he adds, the Libyan crisis happened at the worst time of the year when the sea is the roughest.

"We faced three to four-metre waves... and it was like the vessel was hitting a sloping concrete wall each time."

But were the crew scared to leave the safety of Malta’s shores to travel to a country on the brink of civil war?

"I don’t get that feeling of danger as yet... To tell you the truth, I haven’t seen anything. We remain on board," explained Mariella and Capt. Galea agreed.

However, their families are not as relaxed as they are.

"I left my wife crying at home," said the 33-year-old captain. said. "We have a four-year-old daughter, Katrina, who does not understand what’s happening. My wife, Odette, just tells her I’m going to work."

If you recall some days ago I had reported on rumours that the South Korean Navy Warship, the "Choi Young" is to call at Valletta Harbour. Well now I have information that the Warship had in fact called at Tripoli harbour earler today to pick up 32 Korean nationals.

The Korean Destroyer is now heading towards Malta and is expected to enter the Grand Harbour in Valletta early morning.

In the mean time I have news of the German Navy "FGS Rheinland-Pfalz" also returning to our harbour during the night. If both warships enter harbour, by tomorrow morning there will be a total of 4 warships at the Grand Harbour, namely the British HMS York, the German FGS Niedersachsen and FGS Rheinland-Pfalz, and the Korean ROKS Choi Young.

Greek television also confirms my reports of this morning, that the two US warships, namely the USS Kearsarge and the USS Ponce are set to arrive near Crete on Friday. The vessels are to pick up around 400 Marines from the Souda naval base there and then head on to Libyan waters. To my knowledge the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise which according to media reports was to accompany the US warships, is still in the northern Red Sea and has not crossed the Suez Canal as yet.

So right! Can you imagine transporting 400,000 troops to Greece? We just passed around 18,000 evacuees through here and its been a logistical nightmare. I mean the whole population of Crete is like 600,000, not even the island could fit them let alone 2 to 3 warships!

Good Morning to all... as I predicted yesterday, the South Korean Destroyer has just entered the Grand Harbour in Valletta. It is being moored as I write (see pic below). This morning Malta wakes up to a gray hazy and rainy day hence pic isn't that good. In the background one can see the smaller Catamaran which you can compare for size.
