Linux blows out any proprietary os in every aspect!

It can even run around 90% of all Windows apps!

Only feel sorry for the M$ Wirows users...

Yeah, I use it. I like it. It is as good an OS Windows or OSX. But then again all modern OSs are different but good at what they do. Linux just happens to do things for free whereas you have to pay for most others.

I just love "Puppy Linux" and it boots off of a 100 megabyte image on a CD and you can use it without even having to have a hard drive operational.

All this and you can access NTFS filesystem straight out of the box, connect to the internet, do wordprocessing, spreadsheeting, etc. IM as well.

Yeah, I just love my "Puppy Linux". Wouldn't leave home without it....

Not on my PC, but the servers at my workplace runs on Linux. My guess is that a wide majority of the corporate and university servers use Linux these days. So much more stable than the others...

I have used Linux for 13 years now and think it is far better than any version of Windows. I always remove Windows from any new computers I buy and install Linux. I now have a network of four computers running Xubuntu, Kubuntu, LinuxMint and Fedora. I hardly ever have any problems - far fewer than with Windows. Windows 8 is an abomination and I am not the only one to say that!!

I have taught several others to use Linux and they are very happy with it

Back in the days of XP SP2 I had Linux as the back up system on the PC primarily because MS Windows kept blue screening on me. However once they came out with SP 3, I didn't have that problem anymore. Indeed, as I got better at Registry editing I had fewer and fewer XP problems. I no longer bother to Linux. What I find to be the weak Achilles heel of the system now is the cheap construction of the 250 GB Hard Drives be they Maxtor or Western Digital. I have had 4 fail in five years time. It is very annoying to sit at your PC working away and suddenly hear click click click click.., etc. TG I run all the way up to L: and clone back up frequently to external drives.
