Always do rider....just hate all the "suckin'" lol! Only half a year until spring!
abcWOMAN: but it's Worth waiting for! Our Spring is in mid-May to later part of May.
Here in Alberta we usually have snow by now, it can start in mid August, and last until the end of June, then we get a little bit of sun and warm weather.
BC is a lot nicer, four distinct seasons, and even winter isn't so bad being that it only lasts for about 3 months.

We both live in Winter countries. I know summers can be hot in Alberta, actually too hot for me. I lived in Alberta for almost a year when I was younger.
As I recall you had bad luck with snow in BC during the Olympics!

It gets hotter yet in BC, high 30's/low 40's for a good part of the summer this year, and I missed it.
I don't know who's silly idea it was to hold the winter Olympics out on the coast. They do usually get snow in the higher elevations, but no guarantees.
Personally, I could live without the snow and cold, I doubt I'd ever miss it.

Snow for Christmas day (for all the kids that get skis and sleighs for Xmas) and then back to green would suit me fine. It certainly makes us a hardy breed tho Kid

48 hours of snow would suffice, even if it were a few feet of it, then back to sunshine and plus side temps.
I was out at a friend's farm yesterday, working in the snow. Took a break from it for a while and went into the basement to eyeball some of the motorcycle projects. A couple Triumphs, a Greeves, one Norton, some other Brit enduro/trail bike, and two under covers that I've probably seen before, but didn't uncover. There's more in the old farmhouse, and the barn, and sheds...but the one I haven't seen for a while is the Royal Enfield, which I've tried to buy several times over the last 24 years. I'm sure its still out there...somewhere.
It never leaves the blood but I hear ya on the sportbike...cruisers are my style these days. I drove to Ottawa from Toronto in mid January last year to get a hell of deal on the 1300 VTX (it has a single pin crank like a Harley and with the pipes and jetted carb it sounds better than my Harley ever did). I offered the guy a ridiculous (low) price for it and as he was getting out of riding (at 74) he went for it as he knew I really wanted the bike. I'd been looking for one exactly like it so he gave me the bike and all his riding gear and extras. One of those deals you just fall into. You have all winter to find the right bike but sometimes off season you get a much better deal.
It was 30' here yesterday AM. 33 now. I've started making fires about 10 days ago. I don't know what I would do without my little box stove. I go through about a cord of wood a year.

It was -37 here this morning
ohh and I got 5 ft of snow that still needs to be shoveled off my deck yet..........any takers?
Da_Moose: Okay...as a Canuck I will get used to it...again....But I sure do hate the onset...
Yep! the acclimation period is a bit annoying sometimes. I know you have a lot more snow and probably lower temperatures where you are but even here it gets pretty cold and because no one really knows what to expect there is that surprise factor. Sometimes just the heavy wind and constant rain showers can be a real drag! Especially when it suddenly all freezes over and all the power is out. LOL But with some candles and a few oil lamps I can usually dress real warm and last for awhile. I still wouldn't mind putting in a wood stove to fall back on....or a generator. Happy Holidays Moose! ;-}
