Caller: (pause) Well, we have a great special being offered now on duck cleaning (yep, it sounded like duck and my hearing is fine)
Me: I'm sorry, but we don't have any ducks here and besides, the Ontario government wouldn't allow us to keep them in our units.(knowing full well he means ducts btw )
Caller: No ma'am, ducts (he pronounces it the right way)
Me: Oh alright, we do have ducts but they're not my responsibility because building management takes care of all that.
Caller: Oh, sorry to have bothered you.
Me: No worries, sorry you wasted your time offering to clean my ducks when I don't have any and please tell the government of Ontario to have a nice day.

Redundant question for some..... Looking for opinions......
Today I looked at a nice condo I might buy that is in a high-rise that fits me. I’d like opinions on something I observed while looking at it. I noticed:
<> a scented candle burning on the counter,
<> open window while the A/C was running,
<> two 3-foot tall active powered electrostatic air cleaners in two different rooms
<> and a kitty liter box in one of the bathroom's shower really scares me.
.... are they trying to hide something?

the candle suggests to me that there are some kind of bugs
the open window while the a/c is running suggests to me that there probably isn't a cross window for ventilation
air cleaners suggest to me that the carpeting was just cleaned and walls painted
kitty litter probably just means they have a cat or mice. I wouldn't want a place that had a cat
You didn't say what floor the condo is on. If it's the first floor there could be all kinds of problems and the reason for candles and cats
I looked at the pictures and it is nice but too formal for me

Just a guess Galrads, but I think they simply went all out to ensure that there were no unpleasant odors lingering around during your showing. They may have thought the litter box should be out of sight from the main areas and so they used the bathtub as a spot to keep it out of the way. If you like the place a lot, maybe ask for another viewing and put an offer in on condition of inspection. I'd be asking the condo management team a bunch of questions before putting an offer in though.

Larry and Scott wanted to go out drinking, but they only had $2.00 between them. Larry said, "Hang on, I have an idea. " He went next door to the butcher's shop and spent the $2.00 on one large sausage. Scott said, "Are you crazy? Now we don't have any money left at all." Larry replied, "Don't worry - just follow me." They went into the pub where Larry immediately ordered two double shots of Jack Daniels. Scott said, "Now you've lost it. Do you know how much trouble we will be in? We haven't got any money to pay for this!" Larry replied, with a smile,"Don't worry, I have a plan, Cheers!" They downed their drinks. Larry said "OK, I'll stick the sausage through my zipper and you get on your knees and put it in your mouth." Said and done, the barman noticed them, went berserk, and threw them out. They continued this, bar after bar, getting more and more drunk, all for free. At the tenth bar, Scott said, "Larry - I don't think I can do this anymore. My mouth is sore and my knees are killing me!" Larry said, "How do you think I feel? I lost the sausage at the third bar!"

hmmm, you are right on multiple things regarding my observations.
... there is only one window in the room with the open window.
... This unit is located on the ground-level/ 1st floor... 20 feet from the elevator, 40 feet from the front door, across the hall from the mail room and just above the underground heated garage.
... curious, why does this ground level location have more problems and create more of a need for cats and candles.
.... the walls were painted about a year ago.
.... bugs!
.... the window being open while the A/C was running makes no sense to me. Air Conditioning is more efficient cooling once it's done its job removing humidity from the interior of this condo

hey, 2intrigued...... you could be right on all counts and my gut feeling wrong. Yeah, I wouldn't make an offer without contingencies for inspections and for the condition of the condo association's reserve funding.
