Are you sure? We could have 15 5to 20 children together. You can be the bread winner too and I’ll be a Home Daddy. Think how beautiful these twenty child’s are going to be, and smart. Oh, my... Our babies will all be engineers and eventually build companies which will exceed anything developed by microsoft or Apple or IBM.

Demeter123: There are hardly any advantages of being married. so no.
Nowadays both partners work, so the days of the little housewife is over. It is far better just to live together and keep your finances separate. In some cases it is even financially advantageous.
If you decide to break up then it is just any common property to be divided and a lot quicker and simpler with no outrageous divorce settlements.
A lot of people in Sweden live "samboende" which is far easier than marriage.

serene56: Those responsibilities apply to any commitment surely.
Marriage is simply a more formal one.
That's part of the point/problem, Serene! "Marriage" is a LEGAL formality! And I'm "handshake/my word is my bond" kinda/sorta guy. If my word isn't good enough for you, then I'm not good enough for you. End of discussion. But then, while "love" MAY BE the best of all possible "things", it's ALSO the most INCONVENIENT!

Without giving any doubt in your AIR word of honour...a LEGAL word is heavier to play with. Imagine if eather, you or your partner die and the one who is left to deal with all LEGALITIES is also forced to deal with your whole family /relatives that may play as Kings and Queens with all that matters...
