"Note: On December 20, 2019, the President signed legislation to amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, and raise the federal minimum age of sale of tobacco products from 18 to 21 years. It is now illegal for a retailer to sell any tobacco product – including cigarettes, cigars and e-cigarettes – to anyone under 21. FDA will provide additional details on this issue as they become available."
Surely those currently 18, 19 and 20 years of age will continue to be able to purchase the products they became legally addicted to you say? No.
I got the call today from a friend that works in a convenience store.
They are as of now now not selling to anyone not currently 21 years of age.
I smoked for approximately 20 years roughly a pack a day and quit "cold turkey" 10 years ago Nov 13 2009 when diagnosed with a collapsed lung.

They'll just get some adult to go into the store and buy them ciggies for them. Big deal. How about making them less addictive? I see people smoking before they get into the train and they look so desperate, when the train is arriving to the platform they suck on that thing like their life depended on it. Ugh.
Ocee102: This of course implies one would need to buy a gun to have one.
That's not really the standard here.
We have 120 guns for every 100 people.
I grew up in the country, we had about a dozen.
Generally shooting practice begins between 7 and 12 years of age.
Thats about how old I was when my Grandpa handed me his 22 semi-automatic rifle, showed me how it worked, and said... just don't shoot any of my animals ... he was a farmer, with cows pigs... I went to the pond and shot in the water, and some frogs floated up...

I learned that lesson a bit before my 22 caliber, with an air rifle.
It was my most memorable be careful what you try to moment.
Several tries in and one unlucky for the poor song bird shot I never shot at any living thing I didn't want dead again.

That's what happened with me, my Uncle took me out with a bb gun, showed me a pigeon on the barn, and told me to shoot it, I did, and it landed on the ground alive, fluttering around in pain... I never shot anything alive again... It left a bad experience for me, killing something, at a young age...
I could kill cattle in an abattoir, but I can't bring myself to the slaying of wildlife without vital reason. Those species are wild and free, they had voices of their own I cried as the 8 year old me jammed the barrel of my rifle into the soil.

Mercedes_00: Yeah they prefer to sell guns to kids.
Only seven states allow a 16 and 17 year old to be tried in court as an adult. Children under that age require close supervision imo when handling a gun.
I'm a little surprised no one seems to care we took an addictive substance that was legal, and made it illegal for a group of people who became addicted to it legally.
I'm seeing no one comment about this anywhere else online either.
