Depression isn't always a bad thing it could be nature's way of telling you this isn't right. You could eat/drink/spend/pollute too much and the mildly depressed state of mind makes you frugal to save you from your own excesses. Considering the depressing circumstances it could be that the social norm is a type of mania.

Agreed, many types. I dont believe there is a cure, but instead a point where we can accept things as they are. And if not, find a way of inputting ideas for ways to change them. We wont change much, but every little bit can help.
I totally agree with you. Sometimes, it's good to go out there and give a helping hand, it's not only a cure for depression but fulfilling for your soul.

I've been depressed for many years. Mostly the reasons where from work or people around me. So I learned to fight for myself, it's my life, I decide what to do. If I don't like a job, I'll just search for something else. Finally I created my own job as a chess teacher at different schools. No boss or colleagues bullying me or telling me what to do. It isn't worth it.
I have one life, I am a human, I have the same rights as Trump or Putin for they're just human too. No one tells me what to do or what not to do. I have my own mind, and I know what is good and bad. I don't want trouble, so I avoid the bad way.
This song says it all, I posted it before, but remember, it's your life and your will, don't let them grind ya down
