. This cannot happen because the world is. Flat..........

No, it would be a good thing. The democrats and disney people would then float off into space and someof them land on the moon where they forever listen to frankie sinatreous.

If the Earth suddenly stopped rotating, The Pacific ocean would, due to the laws of Inertia, submerge North and South America and the Atlantic would submerge Europe and Africa.

Physics says that this is impossible. There is no known force that could affect such a change. And do you propose that such a force would somehow exclude the moon? If the moon were affected, which it would have to be, it would immediately start falling towards the Earth. Needless to say, by the time these inertias were overcome, the moon would have spiraled into the Earth, thus proving, yet again, that the flat-earthers are incorrect. But, they would then truly be flat-earthers. Rather, flattened-earthers.

They view it much like a one-sided record, with a top, and no bottom, which makes their model even more absurd. But, given the supposition that it is a one-sided, spinning disk, such a "record" could be played backwards. Such a flat-Earth requires no particular laws of physics....in fact, it requires the elimination of the laws of physics, so a flat-Earth may spin however it wants, whenever it wants. :)

i can't say for certain what might happen.
can't see where it could or couldn't hurt except in speculation like science itself.
however, our lives shouldn't be affected much. the earth may not be stopping, and/or reversing, but evidently; the earth's core might actually be.

Certainly would mess with my vertigo that's for sure..

You got me. At first I didn't think there was any reason to say the moon would collide with the Earth if it stopped rotating; then I finally remembered the moon is accelerating in orbit because it is accelerated by the attraction of the Earth's surface.
Anyway, OP left something out. Why did the Earth stop rotating? That information is more important for any conclusion than the unlikely idea that it did. I assume somebody saw the old movie where this happened. Can't remember the name of the movie or exactly what happened.

Yes, physics catches up lots of people. It is the Earth-Moon system. I like the space-movies where they fly spaceship like airplanes do in the atmosphere, rofl. It is more comedy, that reality.
Or, they'll use terms like LightYear, as a time, when it is actually a distance. It is hard to be convincing if you get huge pieces of the puzzle wrong, like basic terminology! Lol. Yes, it is all fiction, but certain things are required to suspend your belief system for the value of entertainment.
So yes, the OP forgot that the Earth-Moon are a system. How could you stop one from spinning, and not the other? If the Moon stops its orbit, or even slows slightly, it will accelerate towards the Earth due to the gravitational attraction between the two. If such a reversal were instantaneous, it would also have to overcome mind-blowing amount of inertia for the entire Earth-Moon system. Yeah, not such a trivial question. If it were even possible, the entire system would become a heap of space-rubble, just from the inertia.
I think in northern hemisphere your bath water spines left and southern hemisphere emptying bath or sink water spins to the right (clockwise), storms called typhoons, hurricanes or cyclones in different parts of the world — always spin counterclockwise in the Northern Hemisphere, and spin in the opposite direction in the Southern Hemisphere. So the earth is already spinning both directions Back to school guys !!
