early morning

Early morning rising
on a day set for rest
sun was out
wind was cool
view was just the best
house that looked
the village o er
sleepy still was she
distant hills were smiling
a new dawn
church bells later peeled aloud
sunday morning sounds
sunday morning papers
on the breakfast table found
later off to church we go
preacher hymns and all
at the close
we come back home
roast dinner was cooking
its aroma filled the air
outside the peaceful countryside
the tall oak rugged trees
add a thought to sundays gone
with fragrant memories
