not yet- adult -enough

She sat in the back seat of the car
as her father drove with mother beside
all alone in the back seat at 12

one day it will be my turn to be
sitting up in the front seat
and not in the back row of this
moving cinema called a car

wonder did she ever think that
there was a price to pay for
being up there in the front

the price is being older
paying for your own bills
welcome to the world of adulthood

did she ever think on that
stay young as long as you can
and when you cannot stay any longer
be ready for life..grown up style
though 12 year old may take a while.
