rita hayworth

My journal
reading you
as i told
you things of me

kept the record
of events
of yesterday
to recall

rita hay worth
rising star
shone with light
near and far

gilda
you became
separate tables
another name

then your star
lost its light
and fell
that night

funny how
those i don't know
touch me like
falling snow

i remember
feeling blue
thinking of rita
who i never knew

you were in
my journal
to remember you
and all the pleasure
that you gave
on the silver screen
funny how
you affected me
as i wrote of you
guess if i could
tell you
i would simply
say thank you
for your silver screen

sweet thoughts on a beautiful lady. when they seem larger than life on the silver screen, sometimes, we do feel something for their power. my rita was the king of cool himself, steve mcqueen! cool
