The Gift ....(Part 3)
So now…The stars twinkled some more,
At a bit of a loss at what to do,
Talked some more……
Got together in groups,
Then….Disaster,
Whoops…….
Two stars got too close, rubbed together,
Something happened,
That would change our world forever…..
A meteor shower occurred,
There wasn’t anywhere in the heavens,
The commotion wasn’t heard….
Flashes, loud bangs and crashes and things,
Though, clever Saturn caught quite a few,
Kept them as his rings…..
Everywhere, miraculously, a fungus formed and then,
After a while of breathing mucky air,
Began to make oxygen…..
After another long age,
Evolution took hold,
And turned the page….
Some of the creatures that grew, crawled from the sea,
Their flippers turned to legs,
Some grew eyes with which to see…..
After time some learned to climb a tree,
Later lived in caves,
Learned about fire so easily….
The moon looked down on us and…..Finally,
She smiled and stopped crying,
She felt no longer on her own,
And never again will she be lonely…..

The moon looked down on us and…..Finally, ... As you said earlier, I got ahead of myself and your poem series' evolution! Thanks for tying up those loose ends - glad we moved out of the caves!
what a wonderful poem
Why weren't lessons this simple when we went to school, creation and evolution explained in 30 or so lines.
Great work, a quite enjoyable read...
