Daydreaming
Unstuck now, is the lift, stuck halfway to a floor,
We’ve gathered the courage to open a sticking door,
To step through into another dimension,
Before, we never thought to give it a mention,
From singletons to a couple,
Seeming high walls begin to topple,
And like an orange, past peel,
Our past, bitter taste outside, future sweet inner to reveal,
While trying to keep our feet on the ground,
Soul mate, kindred spirit, love, found,
Reaching across thousands of miles, from land to land,
No longer will we be two, when hand touches hand,
Only ever separated by an hour or two in time,
Though almost instantaneous over telephone line,
And very soon to travel for just over a day,
To be united is just a plane ride away.
For us both, new experience, new life,
Thinking forward to happiness, behind us, left, all strife,
For our hopes and dreams to come true,
Eyes to gaze into, hands to hold, reality at last, for me and you.
