EMPRESS FALL

See all the brilliance of Empress Fall!
She’s glittering like sun in coat of gold.
She's driving into ball in splendid chariot,
Her retinue enraptured stands in awe.

The colored carpets on the ground,
The foliage falling from the boughs,
Leaves whirling, spinning round and round
Above our heads turn into words.

Her minion once again with sweet embrace
Bewitched the Empress Fall to total bliss
And cast away by someone in the dance
Masks were picked by rakish wind and kissed.

Yes, Empress Fall to heart’s content
She twirled in dance for last time in the ball
And then dissolved in faces pallid, grey...
The sound of final cord is now heard no more.

About this poem:
Something inspirational again! Provided you are not too tired here is another translation from our Tbilisi poet Tamila Aydinova writing her verse in Russian. This is her third poem posted by me here. Autumn is my favorite so don’t be surprised if I keep returning to this subject. I do appreciate your time and thank you for devoting it to reading my translations! Best wishes to you all!

Angel

In autumnal sky a birds flock bids farewell,
Tearing night in thousands of notes.
There’re so many songs, heart, that I am aware of,
Only in them there is no loving song.
There perchance may be many big moments,
Whisper of breathing, merely words,
Silent sounds of faraway touchings
Raced off for good with the song of the birds.

Song of the joy our hearts will be filling
With the melodious notes of our soul,
Angel from clouds will welcome us grinning,
Please save and protect our love, we you ask!

With every minute good fortune comes closer,
When in the crowd we lock our eyes,
It’s easy to pass by each other unnoticed
At road intersection to destiny star.
But up above earth there are mystic predictions,
Angel is watching for us to walk straight,
Meeting prepares for two lonely people,
So that together through life we should wend.

Song of the joy our hearts will be filling
With the melodious notes of our soul,
Angel from clouds will welcome us grinning,
Please save and protect our love, we you ask!

Song of the joy our hearts will be filling
With the melodious notes of our soul,
Angel from clouds will welcome us grinning,
Please save and protect our love, we you ask!

In autumnal sky a birds flock bids farewell,
Tearing night in thousands of notes,
There’re so many songs, heart, that I am aware of,
Only I wish to be singing of love.
There perchance may be many big moments,
Whisper of breathing, merely words,
Silent sounds of faraway touchings,
Spring will be back and birds will return.

Song of the joy our hearts will be filling
With the melodious notes of our soul,
Angel from clouds will welcome us grinning,
Please save and protect our love, we you ask!

Song of the joy our hearts will be filling
With the melodious notes of our soul,
Angel from clouds will welcome us grinning,
Please save and protect our love, we you ask!

girl from elsewhere

there'll be people on sundays
standing in doorways
praying to statues
they want to believe

her face amongst many
a sunflowered penny
shined by the daylight
lucky to some

her eyes azure curtains
as nothing was certain
a flowering kindness
escaped from her mind

down at the station
her parent's creation
stares at my troubles
and takes them away

folks said they knew her
they hardly saw her
ivory feathers
under her clothes

not of this planet
she dips like a gannet
exiting waters
unswimmed, unsailed

I never.. kept a picture
but her features
are scripture
frescoed tiles

on the walls of my dreams

If Ever

The magic of your eyes is shining from small pic,
Deep inside of the soul it surely does reveal,
The essence of my life is there hiding deep,
For me to search when I'm alone, alone with me.
This photo is explaining world, what is to come,
Love is that wise, your eyes tell me that much,
And it is nonsense when they say that love is blind,
The magic of your eyes tells things invisible to sight.
A mesmerizing state of loving what you are
Is giving sense to days and weeks, and months of mine.
And does it matter if this world turns backwards much?
Should earth change poles it'll matter less than grass,
Cause nothing is more frightful than to lose your love,
To lose this blinking smile of yours in soulful eyes.
Oh dear poet, I respect and honor you so much
For simple poem that's in harmony with mine,
Cause when in love, be even unrequited love,
What's happening to world is no concern of mine.

About this poem:
Again and again when I start writing a comment I am so slow in doing it that my comment gradually grows into a poem. This is as a comment to Fellsman's latest "Just Suppose ..."

Of Animals and Humans .....

As I often watch videos of animals rescued and finding love ..
after so much hardship and abuse , sometimes too late ,
and sadly had to cross the rainbow above ...
I’m left with the firm conviction that in them you unfailingly
find God’s beauty and true essence ...
And in their eyes, whether suffering
or finding happiness in their existence ...
You always see the truth in their gaze ,
and never have to doubt the meaning of their ways ...

I often wonder ... where’s the unconditional love and undying
committment in us humans ,
that these animals are all able to show ...
Why with all our intellect and mental faculties
all too many seem to not know ...
All the two-faced pretending ,
the lies people end up saying ...
Why cant we just own up for who we really are ...
say what we really feel ...
but most of all, instead of our worse,
the best of ourselves we share and reveal ...

So I laud the people who can see and feel all these too,
have opened their hearts and their lives
for God’s furry, feathered, bare skinned and what have you ...
In number we may not be as much as is needed for all ,
but we do try what we can
so those in need may not fall ...

Road

So now that I’m free, I am my master, owner, friend,
I'll enter upon road of joy, adventures and surprise,
I'll say to life: "You've won, I'm loser, I am what I am,
In search for truth all that I saw proved nothing but mirage."
We sink and swim, but, what is more, we live with zest,
Of this I know, oh road, should I just chose and dared,
And always kept my own, and never craved for less,
The long and tiring road would then seem short to fare.
I'll carry on this crooked road not much, but former load,
The burden of all men and women that I’ve known,
And charged with load like this I still am free to go,
"I'm filled with them, and I will fill them in return."
Oh road that takes me far from home, you - open road,
I'm full of joy and promises you give, you're what I chose.

the girl in the poster

they said misfortune stalked you.. they said that life was hard
in the genetic school of poker
you were dealt the hardest card

a rogue gene: you misshapen henceforth they would detect
but all I see is beauty
in the poster I inspect

it was hard for me to process
I was new in town
I'd left a girl for the colour
of a certain wedding gown

she wanted picket fences
guess I was too remote
the only berth to interest me
was on a fishing boat

then I saw you in this poster
your eyes two drops of rain
I saw a man recoil from you
as if you held some blame

you followed me around town
I saw your face amongst the stars
I began to see you everywhere
in the licence plates of cars

you removed the night's wallpaper
to paint the air with sky
your beauty far too certain
to entertain a lie

so thank you girl for the memory
of the sky that melted blue
and all the pieces of your person.. stuck together with God's glue

Crossing the Silent River

silent shadows running thru the fields
Silence molds the clouds all day

silent moonlight bounces through the trees
Silence skips across the lake

...and when my heart is with you Lord
its shield breaks, Oh how it breaks
in the most tender way.

silent snow flake falling like a ghost
Silence swings low thru the gate

silent stones gather no thoughts
Silence gives my heart away
