WiFi

Wifi, Wifi,
I'm on the end of my screen,
You make we wanna scream

Waited for you all day and night
but you never came to love me at all

Wifi, Wifi,
Why do you lie?
You lied and made a mess of me

Do you care?
Do you share?
You send me rainbows and hearts
Then disappear

Wifi,Wifi
Why do you lie?
You lied and made a mess of me

You forget i'm real,
Sitting here,
Waiting for a skype from you
Hit me up on instagram
But now you just abandon me

Wifi, Wifi
Why do you lie?
You lied and made a mess of me...

About this poem:
Imagine if you could transport a band from 1967 SF to the present day...what would they make of this internet age?..well, here's a fair go at what kind of song lyric they might write...

Dare

Dare to sing in cathedral hall
Dare to dream when nightmare call
Dare to laugh when hearts do sigh
Dare to cry as love goes by.

Dare to dance in daylight dawning
Dare defy thy heart's due warning
Dare to touch an angel's wing
Dare to hear a siren sing.

Dare, when caution ere derides
Dare and let the heart decides
Dare to love; however small
Dare to give thy very all.

Morning love

Soft steals the morning mist that hides the glimmering dawn
Whispers quiet greetings to those forlorn
That beckon in silence upon the dappled lawn
Of those lost within that fragrant morn...........

Seek ye not, in morning dawning
Hearts a burning, stirring, turning.
There is beauty heaving, weaving,
Nature and her maids adorning.

Come. Sing, for thy knows the songs of yore
The ancient melodies of joy and mellow song
That echo from a distant time
And make one think in ancient rhyme..

Hearken to that learned sage locked within a literal cage
Of thoughts. Of slendour and desire that inflamed the inner fire
Come, come upon the stage of dreams and life; dare you to be
Loved? For in that love there is loss. And gain. And magic in the night.

And in that magic, gentle weaved; with kisses silent, passions cleaved
Love comes silent; boldly, bravely, smashes logic wildly, safely.
Do we cling with eyes wide open lest she fly? Oh flee she may not.
Or I should die.

Bowl of Cherries

If love was hiding in a bowl of cherries
Sweet and enticing, not like un-ripened berries
Could you pick it out, choose the one
Or would you fumble, unsure of some

How do you know where it could be?
If they were all plucked from a single tree
Would it be the one hiding, seeming shy?
Or the cherry that simply took your eye

Does hesitation make you unsure?
That love could hide if it was pure
Why wait, why not pick the fruit
What if its wrong, does not suit

Why choose, why not sample them all
Would you become the vain mans fool
What is the thought that holds you back?
You cannot sight feelings lying in the pack

Indecision will make it pass you on by
If the one that’s right you will not espy
Your heart, not eyes, will leave one in the bowl
For it is the one that shines, a radiant soul

For the answer is not the beauty of the skin
The outside tells you nothing of what lies within
True love can seem to hide in a single cherry
But beware, for the fruits of life are many

autumn and remembering

A most mystified moment
is when the leaves turn yellow
an indication of the arrival of autumn
a moist in the wind soften your pale skin
I wish I could reach to touch once more
if only to remember the glow

and yes in that afternoon, it rained
if only to make your hair silken
as it danced in the motion of the gentle wind
I felt pang of ache within me, yet
enchantingly and gloriously wishing
I am in your mind unforgotten
holding a lovely thought of
remembering

Once you confessed:
would it be that when I think of you
you think of me, and when you think
of me, I do? How funny because
it does happen, but even if today
we can't confess anymore,
I do feel just the same. .

that question is as constant
as life itself...goes around
like autumn, it will come again
and again.. without end...

because when I think of you
you think of me, its just the way it is,
was and will always be.

Torch of Love

For far too long I have carried this torch
Walking over hot coals, my feet sorely scorched
It flickered with the light of a star lit candle
Much more than one single heart could handle

It absorbed my life but brought little satisfaction
It always searched to find your loves reaction
It sought the beam of passionate emission
Always seeming turned off, in darkened submission

But still it glowed like a homing beacon
Just for your affection to guide your minds reason
All you had to do was press the hearts switch
But your fingers held back, resisting their twitch

If two lights could never hope to meet
Then singular love is a sorrowful lonely street
Like the memories of time it will eventually fade
Like the passing of the last old soldiers parade

For the torch of love cannot forever stay bright?
When the batteries of life fail in their sight

someone

someone is met only once
and then you love her
and know she is only once
and her beauty and talent
you know full well
but it's only once
and she hates you
for being in love with her

if

if I was to say goodbye to someone
I never thought I would
except for one of us dying
I would not know where to begin
because I just never thought about it
didn't know it was something to prepare for
when it's like, someone feels they can't be in a relationship now
they're not looking, etc.
well I didn't think it was something you turn on and off
every few years with the same person
it's not like we're out in the field
looking for romance or whatever
it's just I thought we were together
and if it's only temporary you don't want to be
what do we need to say goodbye at all?
why can't we just be
what we always were
I don't know how many things
you have said I am and I'm horrible
I ask way too much of you
you can't be you, when you're with me
one of the first things you said, though
when we began, is that I always allowed you to be you
in a way no one else did
you make me feel like a monster
yet I've cried at your feet
and that's somehow manipulative
that's somehow me being an evil bastard
trying to force you to do something you don't want
and you don't care about my stupid feelings
and I never tell you what's on my mind
I have told you a million times what it is
but you don't believe it
and think I always have some other motive
than just wanting to be
with you
not you this or you that
you're f*cking perfect in my eyes
I just asked of you yourself
and offered myself in return
that's the entire deal
as I know it

I think there should be a "rambling" category for poems. I would hit that one off.

A Secret Love.

When you were a child
I was In your dreams
Within your peaceful night
I dwelt within your scenes
You saw my darkened majesty
But never did you fear
Love was In your heart
You cried Love's own tear
Now you are no child
I have come to you
Your Love Is still the same
It Is ever true
I wonder If you still see
The child who Loved the night
Who loved her Dark Angel
Who saw within him light
Shall you ever be
The child who watched the moon
Who had a Loving heart
Who lived In Love's cocoon
Your dream has come true
Your heart's Love shall ever run
Ever your heart touched with Love
Your Dark Man he Is come.

The Groom to his Future Bride

You are the goddess of my heart
there is no star brighter than you.
When the moon beams down in her glory
her light reminds me of you swirling
as your laughter spills out. The sun
to me a pale reflection compared to you.

Allow me my darling to take your hand
in wedlock. Let me worship you for the
rest of my days, hold and keep you safe.
Mysterious lady who reminds me of the sea
with her gentle ways that explode into
storms come ride the waves with me.

I pledge to you my all for without you
there is no sun, no moon or stars.
Just a world of dim shadows showing little
more than shapes. Place your hand in mine
and together we will conquer all in our
paths, raise our children and live life.
