The Snow falls softly

Haiku 7 - Nature's Diamonds

on the rose petals
sparkling with the morning sun
bright dewdrop diamonds

beneath the streetlight
glistening on the snowflakes
sparkling white diamonds

on the ripples
shimmering in the sunshine
dancing water diamonds

Igneous

Opportunity surpassed Spirit
in what Sojourner began
the meeting of the minds
science and technology bound
traversed terrain aqua pools to find

Molten lava steamy hot
simmers, cools to crystalline
then you rove into view
stealthily melt magma
igniting heart of mine

Curiosity explores our
Mars-to-Venus meeting
as your arm reaches out
and touches form lacking
both iron and magnesium

Weakness wrought
from impure iron’s lack
magnesium solubility all but
disappeared from view, as
we endeavor to ascend

love sent heaven-bound
with touch conveyed
to me from you restoring
essentials to our trust
barriers broken down

so whether in Hawaiian
oceanic island depths
or continental rift zone
of Southwest’s Rio Grande
Venus and Mars find home.

In The Gloaming

The hunter set off just before the gloaming
adjusting the straps of his high powered rifle
it was a long way to where the stag usually fed
a majestic stag sprouting twelve point antlers

Climbing high up the rugged mountain side
he trekked fast covering the many miles
at last he was where the stag usually fed
casting around for signs of his tracks

Finding them he started stalking his prey
up hill and down dale he carefully followed
until at last he could see him way up ahead
taking care to keep down wind he got close

Now about one hundred yards apart, he settled
nestling into the thick bracken patiently waiting
The stag climbed onto his favourite outlook
and stood there poised as the gloaming lit the sky

Truly a wondrous sight he was in full prime
the hunter sighed as he took steady aim
then with a click it was finally time to shoot
the stag hearing the sound took to his heels

The hunted checked his camera, yes he had him
a perfect picture well satisfied he packed up
this one picture had taken days of trailing him
now he was forever captured in magnificent splendour

ray of light

As I wander thru the
forest I look and what do I see but birds and trees
humming with bees.
As nightfall comes the sound begins to change to the quire of night.
Oh what a sight a owl in flight.
In this realm I wander is it tue can we find place and com fort in
another as animals and there surroundings.

Winter Comes

For in the midst of the trees
i do feel the fall breeze.
I see the leaves as they settle
to the ground no one, but
me... a r o u n d.
I see death with every tree as
it looses it's shield of warmth
in the autumn breeze.
I see the colors all about my feet.
Where the leaves lay and crinkle
as i walk on them.
Does anyone see how empty
the COLORS in the trees are?
Does anyone know when it will snow?
Does the snow covering come to
settle here or there?
Is there covering every where?
This is the question on my
mind from time to time.
Lord you see all the
possibilities.
Can you give me but a hint
of what is to be and the
beauty that is to be before me.

SKY BLUE....

Ripple as movement, stirs the trees
Gentle ruffling, a cooling breeze
Whilst sun beats down, without a break
Paths and roads, continue to bake

Sky so blue, not a cloud to be seen
Grass and leaves, still brilliant green
Water, we're told in short supply
Tanker can deliver, many will buy

Rural rely on rainfall, filling tanks
River's water reduced, within its banks
Market gardens, and livestock need
Fresh sparkling water, so life can feed

As New Zealand, copes with the heat
Coming quickly, Autumn will beat
March and April, soon will send
Cooling evenings, with rain our friend

Moonstone and Malachite

Moonstone and Malachite,
Shining, blue and green
In the moonlight -

Semi-precious,
Gifts from the earth
Eggs of Gaea, waiting
For their birth
Eggs of Gaea, hatching
Eons, timeless worth.

Moonstone and Malachite,
Shining, blue and green
In the moonlight -

Blue and green,
Seas of stone,
Blue and green
Eggs of Gaea
Green and blue
Eggs of stone,
Blue and green
All alone.

Moonstone and Malachite,
Shining, blue and green
In the moonlight -
Shining in the moonlight
Hatching mysteries,
Inscrutable histories,
And beautiful fancies

Moonstone and Malachite,
Shining, blue and green
In the moonlight -
In the moonlight minds of men.
Moonstone and Malachite,
Shining, blue and green
In the moonlight -
In the moonlight world of
Might have been.

blooms end

Blossoms of fiery colors lifting souls, far beyond ourselves as there beauty quells our off-time sighs. Now all but gone as the stillness of the chill creeps in. plants of summer withering into the depth of winters grace awaiting for the white blankits embrace. Leaves falling in awesome silence to bearen ground awaiting much needed rest. The chills of night and cold winds of day guess winter is well on its way.

Can't smell the roses ...........

the smell of eucalypt fills the air
never before have i been so aware
filling my lungs and soothing my soul
a calmness blankets me and makes me whole

the intensity is quite unique
memories flood in until they peak
how many times has that scent procured
a reaction only to the one i endured

my nose a prostitute for many a smell
plenty of such would send me to hell
but here in this valley is the beauty of life
overwhelming me without any strife

i ponder from ......where it came
never worrying .....just the same
for there standing tall in a line
somebody's effort growing fine

a line of eucalypts growing tall
all blossoming as i can recall
magic bees doing there thing
amongst all the other trees that sing

this is truly a lovely sight
my smell engrossed with all it's might
i feel apart of earth's core
appreciation of nature i truly adore ......
