~~~~~~~The shadow that follows the stairways~~~~~~
I and my shadow abound the journey as I walk till all I am doing is,
Strolling down the avenue till no darkness is left till dawn arrives with me and my shadow only….Then as it is
Me and my shadow that walks upon the dark valley and only till it is,
Not a soul to tell my troubles too I find a corner to hide upon
And when it is twelve o'clock I know it is at the darkness of a night, so
We climb the stairs till I neither one I or my shadow can climb no more so…..
We never knock and not an answer and to find
For nobody's there to wonder what and why this is
Just me and my shadow…..so where is my friend all along to see
All alone and feeling blue it was only myself and my shadow walking
This, dark stairways to a never ending stairway….. To see my shadow
The Love Song Of Spring
Spring sings a slow love song
There are blossoms on the trees
Oh my darling earth I love you like honey bees
Flowers are blooming
The grass is ready to mow
The love song of spring a waltz to dance away winter's snow
Eternal bliss is in the air
Tender green is a moment so rare
And the magic of butterflies is everywhere
Birds know the melody so just hum along
Sing in the key of love and you'll never get it wrong
Walk through april showers and your smile will go on and on
And when you go searching
There are wondrous things you will find
For the love song of spring has you and honey bees in mind
A Quiet Place...
come with me
to a quiet place...
with views serene...
above, an amazing sight
the clouds that clothe
the deep blue skies...
bring depths of hues
so warm and bright
the water comes in
gently with the tide
teasing, lapping
my feet, such delight
with views serene
mesmerize the eyes
it never fails to
touch the heart until
relieved, you'll sigh
aahh, bliss, such bliss!
to a quiet place
come with me
A Night to Remember
When at last the sunlight has gone too far
Never really poking through winter clouds
Gathering pigeons near the chimneys are
Anxiously just making their warmth a crowd
Can you blame the hungry falcon up high
Survival only takes a moments dive
When panic starts the flock takes to the sky
Lest hunger need a reason to deprive
More the cycle of life goes round and round
Past horizons that measure night and day
For the cloaking night does enshrouds the ground
Make more its taste a spiritual buffet
For if all life were kind enough to live
How much more could we ever want to give
Our Wonderful World
Beauty is in all around
take a delicate flower
its petals slowly unfurl
as the sun shines down
The colours and the scent
released for all to enjoy
the wondrous aroma
teases the nostrils
The butterfly lands
attracted by the nectar
wings gently flapping
as it sips in delight
Bees buzz lazily
they too will feast
then make some honey
which we will eat
Oh the rolling hills
ablaze with colours
the heather seems afire
different hues abound
As I look around
I feel so glad
to be able to see
and to be alive
what a marvelous world
the sound of the brook
as it cascades down
add harmonious sounds
I pause awhile
taking in the peace
the magic of it all
mother nature at her best
Ovarian
Paris pink
home by Africa
holy communion
east by east
Hula hula
brass retorts
dark glass anxious
figured in spades
Nazi hilltop
morning jaunt
panzer division
siren coast
Old hackneyed lines
jack-knifed Jim
signal jam
Paddling into Paradise (Soulgoddess' Challenge)
Full summer sun over water edges
Shove away kayak from shore at Mac's Bend
Down river past the towering sedges
A story about worlds that never end
Any splendor more worthy to relish
When nature appears right before your eyes
Is a wonderful life to embellish
Better than anything minds will devise
Such is red fox trotting down the shoreline
Hunting in search of some prey to come by
Fiercely two eyes a predator combine
With such cunning and skill can under lie
My kayak on the water drifting by
Will always simply give me the glad eye
About this poem:
I am fortunate to live in one of the most wildest and rural landscapes in America, teaming with abundent wildlife, so at any moment during my many sojourns into nature is found what I can only define as my Carpe Diem...that is simply to watch and 'enjoy nature'....
WISDOM - BEAVE number (6) teachings
WISDOM - BEAVER
The building of a community is entirely dependent on gifts given to each member by the creator and how these gifts are used. The Beaver's example of using his sharp teeth for cutting trees and branches to build his dams and lodges expresses this teaching. If he did not use his teeth, the teeth would continue to grow until they became useless, ultimately making it impossible for him to sustain himself. The same can be said for human beings. One's spirit will grow weak if it is not fulfilling its use. When used properly however, these gifts contribute to the development of a peaceful and healthy community.
A Single Lonely Cloud Floating By
A single lonely cloud floating by
casting a small shadow on the ground
a shadow that changes as the cloud
is twisted and altered by a breeze
As it slowly moves on, it shape shifts
now a swan but wait a fiery chariot
that thunders by, a forest in the sky
mountains and houses, even a lake
The wind strengthens blowing more
clouds to combine into a shiny city
icicles hang down forming diamonds
that glitter and sparkle in the sunshine
A single lonely cloud floating by
captures my imagination setting it afire
filling me with wonder as I watch it
put on its own spectacular solitary show
