9 Days Left To Go

Come one
Come all
To the cheap crap give away!
Come to Kmart
You only have 9 days left to go
After that we won't be here any more
Neither will our many employees
Where will they go to find work to replace their jobs here?
Maybe they'll go to a factory job
Where they'll work long hours in dangerous conditions
With dangerous mean people
Backstabbers, bullies, and gossipers
Oh my!
So come real soon
Our three temps are holding signs to remind you
That you only have nine days left to get 70% off stuff!
Kmart is closing on March 20, 2017

About this poem:
It is so darn cruel out there. All these jobs that come and go. It just seems to get crueler every year. The wages go down and prices go up and these money lending places are making a killing off of this dying consumer. I've seen more humanity with a bunch of crows picking at a dead squirrel on the road!

Money

He is my beloved, my firstborn and the fruit of all my labour. As a young child he was loyal, good natured and he never left my side. I cannot lie, I loved him the most and he was closest to my heart. So I gave him all my attention and though I loved him with all my might, I could not make him stay. Now time has flown, we have grown and there is much distance between us. He is a proud young man with a rebellious nature so desperate to see the world and beyond the comfort and safety of home, the world waits. One day, caught up with the business of life I was distracted and in that moment he was gone and now all I can do is pray for his return. But he is an unruly, wayward young man spending himself on everything and everyone to his own selfish end and now everywhere and nowhere is his home. Like the Prodigal Son he is a stray dog with no master, an untamed beast I cannot control and I am beside myself with worry and dismay! What must I do? This is the place where he is most welcome, most loved! Does he not know his worth, how vital he is to my existence? Should he not return I fear that someday I will have no place to rest my weary head and these empty mean streets will swallow me whole!

950 bucks

I was told at work by a temp worker
I'm gonna make 950 bucks this week
I get eight hours a day for working here
I also get four hours for riding on a bus from Janesville
So six days of work gets me 72 hours of pay
I told him I only made 400 dollars as a temp
40 hours at 10 dollars an hour
8 hours at 15 dollars an hour
Minus 120 dollars in taxes paid
Minus all the gas money and wear and tear on my car
But at least I don't have to ride on a bus
The word is out on the street that this is a really bad place to work
So they have to bus in 60 workers from 100 miles away
To make the parts
Because most people in my area won't work here
And I don't blame them one bit!

About this poem:
Imagine working at a job for years and finding out that a temp is making 400 dollars a week more than you are. That is just one of the many things that works me up and drives me crazy. This Trump health care plan would be great if everyone would be covered as good as people who are disabled or are in prison. Our health care system is a cruel joke!

Shadows of the Heart!

Shadows of the Heart!

My heart quivered, did she see me?

I walked amongst the mist of the early morning dew

And as I walk I could see a dreamy shadowed figure in it’s mist

A young maiden in a gossamer gown strolling in the early morning light

Her voluptuous curved youthful being, not hidden by the early mornings rays but silhouetted and etched within my heart!

A sheen body of ecstasy with promises of such elegant delight

Her very steps swayed in musical rapture as she glided across the mist covered forest floor

The musical sounds of nature awakening, soft morning breezes caressed her ever flowing hair

And then like a virgin doe she vanished into the mist

I searched and searched but I could no longer find the shadow of my heart

For like a shadow she disappeared … where can she be?

Please make my misty dream come true and fill the shadow of my empty heart with you!

The Boss

Your mind is frazzled and you're wound up so tight,
Wrapped up in a frame so slender and slight,
You worry so much about the impression you make,
Like a manikin doll cold and so fake.

You dress to say hey look at me!
I'm power personified You wish you were me,
So self-obsessed with all that you've got
Want to be you? I bloody hope not.

Behind shadows is not life ...

Behind the broken side of my life
Behind the broken hearts and lying smiles
Behind the broken glasses and cunning minds
Where can justice and answers be found?

Shadow hides so many truth
Shadow aides so many fakes
Shadow breaks so many shields
And cries when daybreak make

Pain we share
Blood we spare
Trap we snare
This is not the life we tend to believe

Natural Rendevous

There is no better feeling
That will send you reeling
Than a womans natural laughter

To catch her unaware
An entice her to share
Warms your heart then an after

As you look into those eyes
There seems to be surprise
That you've bought about some joy

For the reaction that it brings
Obviously plucked heart strings
As she realises its no ploy

Just a natural rendevous
On opposites sides of the queue
While waiting for an answer

Its a lovely sight to see
A stranger for you to be
Sharing with grace like a ballet dancer

ride safe

the roads all clear not a possum in sight only the deer on the other side,
sun has almost set and home is near how thy love ones i hold in my heart so tight,
a sudden hit from mike tyson leaves the blackness of the dark night upon my white skin,
awoken up with help from angels high within the sky and sexy nurses from within side,
thank god for the egg upon thy head for it helped me survive to live again,
now safety my dearest friends is made up of life angels and most of all your children held within your heart,
safety is the key to life gear up be safe n love for all those u hold tight n dear within side

I Thought I Found A Job

Where Where
Are You Tonight
Why did you leave me here all alone
I searched the world over
And thought I found a job
You found another
And "PPTTT"
You were gone

About this poem:
This is a parody of a HeeHaw song. It was a country comedy and musical show that was on when I was a kid back in the 70's. With all the people out looking for work in this new economy, I thought this would be a good song for them to sing.

late for work

I have a phone
I wanted a comb
I'm in a rush
just wanted too brush
I am late
my foot off the brake
blowing the horn
waving a finger
I need to chill
but i'm having a thrill
looked at the clock
damn I grabed the wrong socks
get to work the doors are locked
must not be late damn just realized
it's sunday morning.
