instinct

I could've had religion
but I loved God too much
I could've fought for a living
in boxing rings and such

but I guess we are who we are
and we can't outrun ourselves
and the traits that make us rounded
are often stored in others shelves

I could've been kinder
to the girls that shared my bed
I couldve talked and listened
and let some inside in my head

but the world's an inverted question mark
pointing to the east
and the sum of every good I've done
is balanced on a beast

the more dangerous the obstacle
the more determined I am in tone
see I've always been a protector
to every soul I've known

for work I mind for money
the wealthy and great
the affluent and healthy
beneath the cloak of fate

at home i shroud my family
by planning and device
a shield of hard experience
deep roots untouched by ice

I couldve had a different life
I couldve been carefree
I couldve swam in lukewarm ways
but I chose the Atlantic sea

as cold as knives each morning
as salt it licks my scars
I see the dawn's reflection
in a billion floating stars

"The Ghost of Me"

A ship sails through astral bays
The Erne soars over misty waves
A silver plate after a golden bowl
A seamless curtain without a fold.

The wick of life flickers speedily
As the waxen heart grows cold
Pane of the soul thrown open
By the angel of the Northeast

A ship full of worthless treasure
Sinks to the depths of unknown fathoms
The memory of a Captain trapped in his quarters
Forever in the tombs of Davy Jones locker......

While my Darling scans the horizon for Edens twilight
The scent of my twin soul in the whisper of the wind
Take me to the shore where my lover abides
A Golden Dawn alights from an emerald sea.....

As the turtle-dove flies through the window of Heaven
There lies the silouhette of my beautiful swan.
The cry of the Bean Sidhe and pay it no mind
For at last I have found you , you were there all the time.

Energeia Mystikos

I have seen purple vibes of a living soul
I have heard the waves of azure blue
I have tasted Erato's sweet delight
I have found her bouquet in the fields of night
I have swam in the ink of a timeless sky
I have flown through Gaia's earthen womb

Without form and wholly void
Emptiness and loneliness walk side by side
Ever connected through the sands of time
Running parallel , the Adept finds
Intersecting points of light
Woven in the Spiral Architects' mind

Good Companies To Work For?

I went on a website where employees can rate their experience
Working for a company
The employee can rate their job from one star to five stars
I looked up Melaleuca, a company that sells bathroom, laundry, and health foods
Another was McDonalds that sells Happy Meals, one dollar sodas, and burgers
Cummins, is where I work, which sells engines, mufflers, and metal parts
Piggly Wiggly is a grocery chain that sells milk, donuts, and cheese curds
The highest score went to Melaleuca with an average over 30 reviews of 4
The second place went to McDonalds with an average of 3.9
The third place went to where I work at, Cummins, with an average of 3.8
The last place went to Piggly Wiggly with an average of 3.3
I have worked as a detassler of corn, packager of Swiss cheese
Developing photos in a photo lab, washing dishes, making burgers
Washing pots and pans, making Brie and Feta cheese, shipping bacon and ham
Mowing grass, picking up aluminum cans, and making mufflers
Helping skiers and snowboarders on the chair lift
Which was my favorite? Helping the people at Chestnut Mountain
Because the girls were pretty and positive, I sat most of the time
And I got to eat whatever I wanted and drink free Mt Dew and Hot Coco
My least favorite was Making Brie and Feta cheese
Because the work was hard and sweaty
And the people were mean backstabbers
I made minimum wage at my favorite job
I made one dollar more an hour at my least favorite job

About this poem:
Work is what you make it they say. I blame myself for not planning my life better so the good jobs were more plentiful. I hope your work history was a happier one.

game of life

The game of life
Everyone is playing it
I'm going backwards
While everyone goes forward

Everyone is graduating
I'm just starting
Look at the marriages
I'm just graduating

Look at their cute little kids
I just got my first divorce
They just bought their house
I just got my first youngster

I can't play the game of love
Nor the game of life
It's all going by
I wish it wouldn't fly

Their life is perfect
I'm on my second marriage
Starting over
I need a redo

Big bad job
I just started
Big new home
Third marriage
I'm a little whore

Can't play the game of love
Nor the game of life
It's all going by
I wish it wouldn't fly

Is This Me???

Little people in my head
close your eyes and go to bed.
Let me sleep for tonight
little people tripping with fright.

Close your eyes
and let me be.
No more sitting in my head
tripping with me.

As I smoke one more bowl
little people leave this hole.

Slowly i start ti decay away
slowly my life slips away.
Is this just in my head?
little people in mt head
close your eyes and go to bed.

Too Bad About Harry

It’s too bad about Harry
We knew it couldn’t last
He drove it way too fast
Gave it too much gas
He called it his own cherry
And rode it like a mule
Until he blew his cool
And played it like a fool
Now everyday we have to face the music
‘Cause every night we hear the same old song
We’re rockin’ in at sundown
And rolling out at dawn
It’s too bad about Harry
But the show must go on.

***

It’s too bad about Harry
But maybe for the best
‘Cause everybody guessed
He couldn’t pass the test
It’s quite a load to carry
It really takes a crew
For all that we’ve been through
We’re gonna miss him, too
But easy come and easy go is the way of things
Those who remain are who belong
He drove it like he stole it
But he’s gone, gone, gone
It’s too bad about Harry
But the show must go on.

Sleeping Awake

Goodnight.
The evening it sighs,
The morn light she yawns,
As we sleep wide awake,
A screem with no sound,
The silence so LOUD,
Trying to run so far.
Not getting anywhere.
This hell is no dream.
Like a touch with no feel
All this true and so real.
As i welcome anther day...
