Epitaph

He was prone to tolerance...
and yet steeped in bias.

He searched love...
and when it found him,
he ran like a coward from the field.

He loved life...
and yet, never really lived.

He dabbled in music, prose
and poetry...
Yet struggled to understand the
obvious.

Here he lies...
Under the fallen leaves ....
the still, fallen leaves.

Age of the Soul!

Age of the Soul!

The eyes reveal the soul, dwelling deep within!

To show it’s true worth!

To look within my soul would show,
Wet lonely tears that constantly weep and plea!

Floods of loneliness in the crowd, how can it be?

I answer … time … it ages one’s soul!
Tears that turn the soul to dust and then …

Time warp and age creeps in!

Ticking clocks can only be …
Turned back & forth by daylight savings time!

Find life’s partner before age sets in,
for when father time cometh you will be alone!

But then again, when father time comes
we are all alone!

The Beginning (Part 1)

Words flowing as sweet wine to crystal flute
Lips caressing sweetest fruit from the vine
All sense of conversation seems so moot
Grapes turning into raisins before eyes
Is it the destination where dreams die
A place where clouds form to hold mighty rein
A place where dignity can hold head high
Sometimes victory is not a pleasure
Words no longer needed all has been placed
Silence echoing as if loud thunder
Slowly out of the mist rises the erased
And what was is no longer,nor will be
Like a birth of a new innocent life
Forming union of devil and his wife

mr. good for nothing

mr good for nothing doesnt have a life
mr. good for nothing walks aimlessly at night
mr. good for nothing never takes a shower
but mr. good for nothing never seen money as power
mr good for nothing dont mind walking in the rain
cuz if he was good for something he would feel the pain
but mr. good for nothing always has on a smile
mr good for nothing hasnt seen one back in awhile
mr. good for nothing never asks you for change
cuz either way mr. good for nothing will feel the same
mr. good for nothing may have saved your soul
cuz when u see mr. good for nothing u see you never want that hole
stuck deep in yr heart an nobody cares
its ruff steep an tart a place he goes we dont dare
so next time u walk by and see mr. good for nothing
give him a big smile an say i bet yr good at something

The Jury (Part 2)

They had prayed for a change to all their gods
Side by side they waited good holding bad
Not knowing which God would answer their cries
Not treasuring what they already had
A contradiction of one another
They had called back an abomination
A power so strong without no end
Essence without permanent foundation
Good verse evil within one entity
Each knowing but willing to take the chance
Releasing twilight upon barren days
Where evil and good will soon bare romance
Mere mortals holding only to release
The beginning of their Armageddon

The Hardening (Part 3)

Fields of glory rolling outside my window

Bodies of bronze by suns caressing warmth

One body my body already knows

He takes me to the stars and the heavens

Dreams aspire reaching for the tallest skies

Fields of glory reaching for suns desire

To quench the thirst then reap the crops of lies

Tend the fields walk away empty handed

There's a wolf out amongst the laden sheep

Blood upon hands of proclaimed innocence

Kill them all where the blood has surely seeped

No clean hands remain to the unaware

Jealousy a motive for killing fields

You reap what you sow, your harvest will yield

About this poem:
Writing these poems have been fun. I don't know yet where it will end. I do know bringing these characters alive out into the open is in its self a dance. Thank you for reading and allowing them for a brief time to enter your domain.

The Culling (part 4)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gently rained the clouds as the years went by
Years turning to centuries past forgotten
Propagating sin allowed not to die
Waiting once more for its time to lay rein
Gentle wind whispering little girls ear
Imagination at play they all say
Soon voices forgotten till time near
Relentless searching not knowing for why
Within the beating heart lays the last blood
Time culled the bloodline almost freeing them
A cloud so ominous soon to lay flood
Dry barren fields begging for watering
Only the best will ferment in my wine
Removing soured fruits from thorny vines
The story
After many a sleepless night,
A man sat down at his pad to write,
The pen in his hand wrote of a man,
Who'd had more than he could stand,
A tale of woe, malady stricken,
Words to rival any written,
Leaving readers speechless
sorrow smitten,
Sadness and madness,
Damsels in distress,
People pushed past their limits,
Put to the test,
Though through the ordeal
they tried their best,
A survivor story where no-one survives,
A song of intrigue, deciet, and lies,
Of lovers who loved and lovers who lost,
Who played with lust and paid the cost,
Then somewhere in this yarn in the middle,
A heart grown hard, little by little,
Because of relationships he'd had,
Experiences both good and bad,
This fable would range from happy to sad,
From worry to glad,
A boy... to a man,
A soul laid bare for all to see,
Full of magic and mystery,
Fitting no genre or category,
It would be named the story of me,
Bottled and corked,
Thrown in the sea,
To toss and turn endlessly....
IvoryPetals
How I fell.
In a gaze or a sleep,
a piece of me you always keep.
When it comes to you I'm weak.
Trapped in an existence so bleak.
Could you listen to a plea when this weary heart speak?
Place one last kiss on my cheek.
Because i'm wrecked.
No more can be stretched.
Its time to put down your pet.
Do it fast before a second guess cause regret.
They'll sow me up with thread,
after you push me off that ledge.
YOU LEFT ME ALONE TO DIE TONIGHT!
You made me feel broken,
Thousand pieces hidden inside,
You left me alone to die tonight!
You never kept your promise,
That you would never hurt me like that,
But now the game is over
And you left me alone to die tonight!
How did this even happened?
Where did we make the wrong turn?
Why did you say those awful things?
And left me alone to die tonight!
How could you do this to me?
What made you changed your mind?
I still see your cunning smile,
When you left me alone to die tonight!
