Anxiety

I’m crashing and burning
My path covered in smoke
Coughing and gagging
No clue where to go
Each step a vastness of flames
No redemption from the heat
My words they speak
A salvo of thought
Tricking my brain
Contemplations combust
Incarcerating my free rein
Whereabouts lay I blame
I grow weary
With each passing hour
Searching for my flame retardant power

Death of truth

Stuck in a world where truth has died
darts of lies sting my insides
They burn a hole so deep guts and gore spill to the floor
I pick them up blood oozing between my fingers
Hot and sticky
I may die as I stare in horror
Sinister voices try to lure me
to convince me of truth
coming through gritted slobbering teeth
I feel their darts hit and slither
covered in slime of another lie
cradling my bloody contents
looking through a hazy sludge
trying to find an impregnable force
while the lies turn into an apocalypse
The darts rain from a once blue sky
There is no safe place to hide
If only truth were still alive

Halloween special - Hooded chair

Death's Hooded chair

Once crafted by a French,
It was imbued with a curse,
On a equinox midnight,
Agent of Death on its way came to rest,
upon the 13th hooded chair it sat,

Embedded image from another site

and left some of its magic when it left,
abrupt when the owner stole a glance,
He mistook the figure for a burglar,
And went swiftly to the chair to inspect,
Finding nothing to be damaged he test,
by sitting on that cursed hooded chair,

Embedded image from another site

Deadly silent was filling in the air,
His mood changed dramatically,
A sense of foreboding doom across his face!
He knew his time on earth was up,
Just before he left the hooded chair alone,
He placed his tools upon its seat pad,
That was a Mark of one resigned,
Never to ply his craft again.

Embedded image from another site

A note he left to his loving wife written,
LET NOONE SIT ON THIS DAMM CHAIR!
for i have seen death rest and placed his hand!
No mortal will live a fortnight,
should his body lay upon it to relax.
He died the following week,
A crate of snakes fell beside him,
The cause of his death was poison from snake bite.

Embedded image from another site

His widow left everything behind,
Soon another tragic tale would began.

to be continued. . .

About this poem:
Now which one would you think would be the infamous chair that even Napoleon sat the night before his defeat?

Trivia. . . its a real story and rumours has it that it is sold to a private collector
for 100,000 pounds in the mid 19th century

Had a special poem just for Halloween, but i don't think i could get it up coz still not even half done yet,so this is a good ghost story for this trick and treat night. . .. Happy Halloween to all Poets from Ancient Bullman

All Hallows Eve

It's "All HALLOW'S EVE",
And do beware,
The wild wolve's HOWL you will hear,

So walk thru the forest and take a chance
Let them stalk you with gleaming eyes and ridged stance,

Blood curdling howels and you will not forget,
A night in the forest as dawn appears.
Will you survive?

halloween

Faces masked
Costumed figures
Appear
Walking in the dark cold air knocking on doors

With buckets ready
Tricks or treats
These creaturs of the nite
Face painted

Some masked
Vampires fangs bloodied blood dripping
Fangs eager to bite
Zombies creatures of the nite

They give you a fright
Goblins ghosts
Herman monster frankenstien
Six foot tall bolted neck

He's out to scare the kids tonight
Halloween the night
Jason lurks in the shadows
His next victom so watch out

Faces Of Emptiness

glassy-eyed people
moving as in a dream
looking without seeing
seeing without looking

utter hopelessness
pervading their souls
filling them with despair
and pessimism

lustreless eyes
no inner joy
just a deep emptiness
stifling their souls

dried-up people
shutting others out
shutting themselves in
lost in their loneliness

About this poem:
The initial title I gave this piece was "Soulessness" which refers to a lack of sensitivity or the capacity for deep feeling. It focuses on deep emptiness which stifles the soul. This may be the outcome of factors other than loneliness.
I am re-titling it "Faces of Emptiness".

Awaiting

I can hear my beating heart
In my ears so deafening
Racing, pounding, like a wild beast
Today must be the day of reckoning

The day had started, like any other
Into the depths of earth descending
We were here to dig for diamonds
No idea that our doom impending

Without warning the earth was shaking
Tunnel collapsed all around us
Buried beneath tons of mountain
All are dead, I would guess

Nothing left to do but wait
Soon I will join my work mates
The air so foul, can barely breathe
Is it true there’s heavenly gates

.........

I can hear my heart slowing
And my breathing becoming ragged
Is this it? Is this the end?
Am I counting my life in minutes?

Terror grips me, I’m not ready
I do not know what’s on the other side
Is there a Heaven and a Hell?
Or do we just fade into oblivion?

Trying to breathe is pure agony
Even my vision is starting to fade
What if? What if? What if?
The thought echoes in my mind

There is no answer, not yet
I can feel myself slipping into death
Another minute, or two, or three
I’ll be just another dead buried body

Mixed bag of Emotions

I tried to save the world but how can I when I don't know love,
So I'm pulling back the reins like i'm stuck on a pitcher's glove.
Now I feel like I'm crashing as I try to get to them,
But that must be like selling Florida some autumn.
In the summer,
I can feel the sun burns even when I'm blocked out like a murmur.
I hear no echo coming from these empty walls with my heart,
Now I'm starving for love with not an appetizer to start

He left.

He left one day,
he didn't say goodbye,
or explained why.

So I wept and wept.
Carved his name in my arm.

Where has he gone?
Will I ever hear from him again?
Does he have a happy life?
Does he think of me as I think of him?

She Couldn’t Save Me

Nobody can save me
Nobody should
She couldn’t save me
Nobody could

I ride a Kings horse
I’m one of his men
I don’t put things back
Together Again

I fight your battles
I wear your scars
Red blood on your flag
You only see stars

I ride a Kings horse
I’m one of his men
I don’t put things back
Together Again

I can’t sleep the night
I don’t rest up a day
I won’t talk about it
Got nothing to say

I ride a Kings horse
I’m one of his men
I don’t put things back
Together Again

Don’t even cry
Can’t feel pain
Stitch me up
Go out again

About this poem:
Its about pain you cant see...

"Nobody" is a reference to me..

How only we can save ourselves, but how we think others can.
