IS THE WORLD STILL OUT THERE?

Embedded image from another site

Deep within the realm of my home
Tucked away concentrating on my own
Thinking wishful thoughts of want to be
Dreaming thoughts of things want to see

Warm breezes – blue sky – golden sunshine
Flowers blooming – birds singing – clothes on the line
Tucked into a room pretending what is outside
No catastrophes – troubles or problems – not in my mind

Curtains closed – not a sound coming through
Easily dreaming of a beautiful day in bloom
Suddenly so quiet – waking from my stare
Peering to see “Is the World Still Out There”?

About this poem:
Update 4/2020: I wrote this a year ago February not knowing what was going to happen in the world in the last few months. Eerily it makes one feel right now with COVID-19 "Is the World Still Out There?" being so isolated. Feb. 2019: Sometimes I get daydreaming a beautiful dream and block out the world. Finally when I return to reality - it will be so quiet that I have to look outside to see if the world is still there.

Long Day

It’s been a long day, is all you’ll need to say
And, i will simply understand
As i also have them too and when I do
you kindly offer to lend a helping hand

Whilst you pour us a drink, dim down the light
I will cook up some dinner
Then we can settle, chill-out for the night

Have a nice cuddle, play some good tunes
For there’s nothing better than a little romance
And maybe we’ll find enough strength
To finish our day with a loving slow dance

LOVE

LOVE
The light that shows the passion
The dark that hides the soul
The fear that stops us loving
For tongues that quite speak
The hands that hold true emotion
The love that colours passion deep
The hate that kills, what you want to keep
See the lines upon the canvas
That lay it bare for all to see
So look for all the good things
There in both you and me
Love will glow so brightly
Then for all to see

THE FIELD

The Field

I watched out on that cold crisp day

For King and country the officer would say

That field grew blooms of fire and light

As noises grew forever louder day and night

Up then lads the shout would come

Forward, forward with bayonet and gun

My body willing, my mind was weak

As I stumbled that day upon my feet

The noise the roar, the flash of light

That caught us all within our flight

We were scythed like wheat that once stood proud

Come then lads was heard out loud

The field’s now quiet, the guns have gone

But some dear friends they linger on

Their spirits call me from the grave

All the heros’ ..... All the brave

Remember all those who came not back

Because of those words attack ,attack ,attack

Happy Dead Soul

There's a little black spot inside of the hole
The little black hole that's consumed my soul
There's a little black part inside of my heart
My little black heart's been torn apart
There's a broken place inside of my head
Makes me feel alive, makes me feel like I'm dead
There's a happy dead soul that hides in me
That knows I'm a slave and it set me free

Life repeats a pattern like a maze
While a straight line labyrinth races us towards the grave
Sacrifice our souls for society
Born as a slave, not who we're meant to be
Work ourselves into bad health
Too old and tired to care for ourselves
But I'm not asking you to believe in me
Because I'm not the one who can set you free

All these things come into question
And all good deeds end in bad intentions

to search for one

one word to sum
a multiple plural not acronyms
fifteen hundred poets wax poetic here
crowd this kooky little corner
on this shrinking perfect sphere
I need one word to sum

-can't begin with an L
-can't end in -iss
photo and emojis are not one voice
and clumped all together
look like noise to me
I'll find one word to sum

fifteen hundred of you rattling the cage
you being plural are me understood
if I hijacked all the anima with care to
exclude none
turn the crank atop the winepress
my mission still would fail
and to fabricate the perfect word
costs more than twenty bucks
yet I need one word to sum

a placeholder is in order here
a temp worker minus the benefit plan
one to do the work of fifteen hundred
pays interest on the loan
I'd be just as pleased instead to trade
two dirts for every stone
more to the point on valentine's day
two embrace for every poems

and as to that -one word thing I was
all consumed about
I'm pleased to say this valentine's day
pleased to say I'm stuck!

[ happy ordinary days to everyone as well ]

Internet love

How to find love online?
Glue yourself to the screen!
OMG so many fine!
Now get a spleen!

Write something catchy!
Enlighten the positive things!
You know you are itchy!
But grow some wings!

Behave like an Angel!
Be calm and assertive!
No others ogle!
Only one adjective!

All others leave behind!
Only two are meant to be together!
What a tremendous, find!
Now a pair in all weather.

Madison Trip

Went to the ice rink to juggle three hockey pucks to some good music
Went to the library to play on the internet
Then I went to Burger King to get some sausage and mini cinnamon rolls
I didn't know you have to put the icing on yourself
I went to Pawn America and bought a behind the scenes of American Idol DVD
Then I went to Cracker Barrel and bought some Herr's curls
I went to Goodwill and bought the Osborne Family CD
Then I went to Bowl-A-Vards Lanes and played a video golf game
Then I drove around the capital building
I went to Henry Vilas Zoo where I saw a polar bear only two feet away from me
I went to Chuck E Cheese and won over 1,100 tickets at the balloon game
And I got a personal pizza with sausage, pepperoni, and mushrooms
Then I went to another Goodwill store and got a wood hockey stick
I also got a REM CD with Man on the Moon and Everybody Hurts
And a tape on how to have a good work atmosphere
Then I went back to my home town of Platteville and went to Goodwill there
I couldn't find anything I wanted there
And I finished the trip with juggling with my hockey stick and three pucks

WIND

The wind of change that blows us
Like ash that fills the air
We all gaze at it in amazement
But do we really care
It moulds us and it bends us
But does it change us for the good
We cannot get to hold it
Or catch it in a box
That wind of change that blows us

For change were told is better
As long as your a go getter
So the wind just blow you quicker
To that certain end
For you will not stop it
My beleaguered friend
It moulds you and it shapes you
Then blows away your ashes
The wind that does the changes
Changes not a jot
The only thing that we can say is we have had our lot

TAKING CONTROL.

Being responsible for our lives
Whether solo, husband or wife
Attitude, during every day
Defines outcome, in different ways

Blaming others, for experiences met
Can form a pattern, pathway set
Open thoughts and open heart
Gives a journey, its place to start

Guidance,from childhood helps
Wise counseling, caringly dealt
Till maturity, control is taken
Balanced emotions, not forsaken

Listening to others, can be good
But not blindly, wearing a hood
Hiding positive-negative thoughts
Doubts fester, unhappiness bought

Accepting some, are not friends
Mixed messages, so easily send
Common-sense, obvious route
It's life, outcome must us suit

Trust those, who make us smile
Staying close, over difficult miles
Sharing, good and bad times
In life's storms or sunny fine
