Autumn challenge.......5senses

I can taste the change in the air
Summer has broken and is nowhere
The colours i see have lost their spark
Leaves are drying all over the park
I feel the wind cool my skin
Carrying with it a new beginning
And hear the rustling of distant trees
Littering the ground with parched leaves
As autumn rolls around once more
I smell the intent of nature's chore......

NATURE II

Coffee in hand I glance out to a mesmerizing glisten atop morning dew
St. Augustine turns picturesque as Cardinals and Jays parade their Red and Blue
Violent Thunder and Lightning nightly has made restful sleep impossible to attain
venturing outside not an option due to the influx of Mosquitoes from all the rain

A 'Low' in the southern Gulf looks to be creeping towards the coastal shore
now it's Tropical Storm Cindy bound to further saturate ground not needing more
Occasional nasty incessant weather a disappointment vacationers learn to shake
the worlds Whitest Beaches will soon beam down all the Sun you can take

Beach functions and the refreshing Gulf waters local folks missed out on too
condition's negated outside fun but great dining and dancing got people through
On the brighter side Sunless sky has provided a break from oppressive heat
all the beautiful Nature that envelopes N.W. Florida is pretty hard to beat

DOES A GOD EXIST III

Billions of believers claim there god is truth while all others spew lies
I too was blinded by faith until reality thankfully uncovered my eyes
Common sense says Father's wouldn't let "their children" suffer everyday
that cockamamy "free will" card is apparently the only one you can play

My bad! "He has his reasons" is the other sickening response I always hear
maybe every horrifying death is to remind us it's only him we need fear
Humanity wants their to be a god with a heavenly place awaiting...I get it!
don't outright dismiss that behind something so preposterous could be bullshit

It's insane that people just accept the outrageous stories man wrote in a book
when you fell victim to fallacious promises of an unfounded god you got took
Religion is reason for countless slaughtered throughout the history of mankind
negating real life relations to put a mythical deity first defines a loco mind

The infallible said there is no other god mankind better put any faith in
to deny me as your Lord and Savior would be an abominable sin
If you dare view George Carlin's "Religion is Bullshit" on YouTube please
besides laughing you may get why he and others feel religion is a disease

The Incorrupted Truth by Fernicia Shuffler-Francis

Praise be to you Almighty God
You knew me from the womb
You know my every moment in life
And you will guide me to my tomb

It couldn't have been easy for Jesus
To be rejected by this world
I feel his pain and suffering
But I know its not the whole

I know what it is to be whipped daily
And still have to pick up that cross
Only some of your humiliation I feel
While I bear my cross to Calvary

And while you prayed to our Father
Asking for mercy and pass this cup
You understood your purpose
So now you nor I can't stop

Let's give him all the praise
Because his plan is perfectly sound
For dust we are and shall we be
We return right into the ground

His name I lift on High
For we are not one bit worthy of his love
But still he gave us Grace
So sad it had to be paid with Jesus's blood

Would we do it all ove again?
Runaway, just leave him and go?
And when we're accused of being his sheep
Will we deny 'him we don't know'?

There is no limit to what mankind will do to survive
Still Jesus accepted and continued knowing he would die
Was there a lesson? A message?
Of what God expected of mankind?
Where is the incorruptible truth of God's design that no one can find

About this poem:
God had a plan for us all, do you believe it was this? Did he want us to treat each other with divide? Meditate for a moment, are you really who God wants you to be?

THE TURTLE

Driving along the road yesterday
Up ahead were flashing hazard lights
I slowed down on approaching the fray
Until I could get in full sight

Wondering if something bad was ahead
One man was getting out of his car
I approached cautiously with much dread
He was staring at the hot blacktop tar

I too looked to see what was there
And started to laugh at the sight that I saw
Trudging down the road without a care
I watched this huge turtle in awe

He kept walking with determination
Not to let anything stop him
From reaching his final destination
Did he know his chances were very grim

I drove on praying in my heart
That God’s creature would be safe in his travels
Wishing that we humans were that smart
To trust God when our life starts to unravel

Knowing that He is watching over us
And He will help us to get where we are going
Without all the fuss and muss
But with complete faith and knowing

THIS HURT WON'T HEAL

I hope to survive the pain from my latest traumatic moment in life
being told "I'm not in love with you anymore" cut deeper than any knife
Immediately after she uttered those words my world turned pitch Black
when I reluctantly handed her my heart I never wanted it given back

Every day heartrending sadness inside doesn't let me forget she's gone
I still spend nights on my porch swing drowning in sorrow until dawn
On me the mentally and emotionally abusive relationship took a huge toll
I'm convinced nothing or no-one can revive my irreparably shattered soul

Treating women too good is absolutely conducive to them becoming an Ex
their is NO remedy to keep relationships from turning into train wrecks
Much sooner than later I need the amount of missing us to reach none
some mornings my tear-stained pillow proves dreams of her aren't done

I still badly miss and love the woman who was so vile to me
some stem's from returning to being alone where I hate to be
"THIS HURT WON'T HEAL" which can impede moving ahead
the overwhelming ache will be affecting my heart right up to dead

NATURE

Laying back hovering above the porch in my swing...
with eyes closed I listen to the tiny Wren sing
Repetitive knocking is that of our neighborhood Woodpecker I decree
An eerie sound echoes as gusting winds rip through every tree.

A plethora of Squirrel dissecting Acorns Ten to Twelve feet away...
several others apparently just out for play.
With feet bare I step off the porch onto a Dewy lawn...
I then look up at a breathtaking view during a yawn

From out of nowhere a rogue Raindrop lightly grazes one eye.
startling considering not one cloud hovers in the sky
Unequivocal beauty and wonderment of Nature is heaven on Earth I plea...
sadly hell is too... it's clearly visible every day on your tv.

That resilient Woodpecker is back once again...
I can't make out which tree his beak is meticulously putting holes in.
Something just sent those Squirrels scrambling back to their nest...
Oh well...I'm gonna get back in my porch swing to rest.

x

There are so many words I can't bring myself to say
for if I do, what have I to cling onto?
"She was a lady, one of the best", I hear you say,
the word "was" like a dart in my heart,
she "is" I scream in silence,
not willing to accept this grief stricken life sentence.
The gaping hole you've left behind
will never be filled,
no matter the time.
You fought the battle right to the end,
no one could be prouder
than me your best friend
I ought to remember you're free of pain
and not want you back for my own selfish gain.
You are loved more than words can say
that'll never change
not now, nor 'til the end of day.

Sleeplessness

Tossing, turning, alone at night
That same old feeling conjures up inside
Thoughts and fears bring me to tears
Oh how I wish I could rewind the years
Mistakes made, people change
We take it with us, as we age
As if to carry my own cross
If I fall to my knees, will I feel at ease?
Hours pass, it's a new day
but tonight the pain will start over again

strange magic

strange magic

shades of passion
skim the surface
of lurid imagination
stretched tight like a drum

shimmering vibrations
undulating through
visions of reality
and jig-sawed humanity

in a slow ...
steady ...
acceptance of
misdeeds and miscalculations

we travel down a winding path
soft heather tinged with nettles
warmth of the rising sun
caressing our bodies

and the floodgates are open
plummeting down the slopes
taking flight on hot breath
reaching into a strange magic

of scintillating loss of self
screaming anguish
and bounded release
of minds melding
