I THOUGHT

I thought you were different
BUT YOUR NOT
I thought you would not be cruel
BUT YOU ARE
I thought I could protect my heart
BUT I CAN’T
I thought you were kind
BUT YOUR NOT
I thought I could accept you
BUT I CAN’T
I thought you would love me
BUT YOU DON’T
I thought you would say good-bye
BUT YOU HAVEN’T
I thought it wouldn’t hurt so much
BUT IT DOES
I thought I wouldn’t cry
BUT I DO
I thought the pain would go away
BUT IT HASN’T
I thought I would always love you
AND I WILL
I thought I couldn’t go on
BUT I CAN
I thought I couldn’t live without you
BUT I CAN
I thought you were my last love
BUT YOU’RE NOT

About this poem:
The man who inspired this one still has not seen it.
Interesting how one person can inspire us in many ways.
Is that what love is meant to do?
I guess I was angry when I wrote this one hence the CAPS. lol

One for the Road

Standing over them,
I touched their backs but they didn't turn.
They walked right through me.
How could they do that to me!

I sew and heard their cries
But I didn't know why.

They had surrounded a coffin.
I took a look with-in.
It was me.
Dead as I could be.

But then I woke up
I had enough.
I'll take a drive,
But I won't wake my wife.
I'll drink some wine,
Then I go out in 5 minutes time.

Drank as hell.
What was that smell.
Driving to fast
And that was my last.

So the dream came through
Who really knew
That to drive this way
Would make it my final and last day.
I should have lesson to my dream,
Inside of think it was just a scream.

Now I'm so sorry,
Please don't worry.
I'm still here
My little dears.

Nothing Much

I haven’t asked for love, you know it’s truth,
And never have I done so much as soul to bare.
It was so obvious from start my love was doomed,
But it's so comforting - the selflessness of care.
For once again when I see you pass by
Engaged in talk with lady, smiling thus,
I wish I were that lady just for once
To hold that tender look and stare in kind.
There’s nothing to be done, I’ll stand aside,
I’ll never bother you by showing painful heart.
And then the memory of you will slowly die,
To be replaced, who knows, with better chance?!
Oh, unrequited love has got no real bite,
It’s heart that hurts, but then who cares for heart?!

Irreplaceable

The song recalls a time gone by
Warm summers, perpetual blue skies
Dips in the ocean, walks in the park
Playing around, children at heart
You knew you loved me, right from the start
A candle burning, warm in your heart
Your arms around me, secure and tight
Kept me warm throughout the night
Your smile was infectious, and eased all wounds
Your kiss, a lifetime to reminisce
You’re long gone
But I recall the song, sung to me
Beneath the canopy of the chestnut tree
Perpetual blue skies, just my mother and me

REALITY/FACTS

"People can't handle the truth" FACT ONE
the following and more weigh on me a ton

These words won't set well with many of you
because you disagree doesn't make them less true
Many laws of this land are at best a cruel joke
most always only relevant to the less fortunate folk

"The Great Satan" many proclaim America to be
theirs valid evidence making it impossible to disagree
The wealthy make their own rules to assure they go free
fact is Government doesn't give a damn about you or me

Americas' guilty of as much evil as any other government
fallacious leaders who dismiss real Americans sentiment
Govt' decided our country should be the melting pot of Earth
no regard for "We The People" further proving our true worth

Govt' fantasized unity was possible in an overly diverse population
that ignorance is reason ONE behind the demise of this nation
Govt' turned a once great land into everything but a United State
a tragedy conducive to perpetual resentment and inextricable hate

They won't tolerate anyone uttering truths that aren't theirs
free speech if your not inquisitive of their illicit affairs
They inform us about what they want no more no less
covering up their iniquities with lies rather than confess

Learn to accept that these words are indubitably reality
believing politicians care reflects a clueless mentality

Will it ever end!

Indian spirit that roams the hills of fate

Ghost of past, that roams the sky

Mighty warrior, stronger than I

Fights the winds of the air

Earthly spirits everywhere

Is there no place left to go

Lost in space in the air

Sailed the water of despair

Walked on fire till it burnt

Traveled lonely paths upon this earth

Can peaceful hunting grounds be found

Dismal Spirits of the mind

When will they be unbound

Do I forever roam this earth alone?

Disillusioned for a ghostly mate

I sleep by one’s self alone, upon the ground!

Poet, Tormented Roaming the lonely hills of my empty mind

ALONE

Night after night I miss physical touch
always alone gets to be too much
I ache for someone who SHOWS they care
somebody equally anxious to share

Lonliness is the crippling core of despair
it's where you learn to master the stare
Alone is the last place anyone should be
from my inner abyss I'm unable to flee

Being alone induces you to become bitter
significance parallels the runt of a litter
Thoughts of remedies roam my mind
they too are increasingly harder to find

Alone negates joy synonymous with free
hi-jacked plans I had to be all I could be
It has been said to be just a state of mind
if you concur your a member of the blind

With You In My Life

There's joy everywhere
when your voice I seek
you're always near
the simplest joke with
your most loving look
shows a happy heart
glad I didn't overlook!

There's peace everywhere
When I look for you
you are always there
the simplest words
you have declared
shows just how much
you really care!

There's love everywhere
when I reach for you
you come running through
the lightest touch
the warmest kiss
shows depth and faith
such bliss!

Purple Pendragon

for fells I promised you a poem

you may think me
a fiery dragon of yore
some called me royal
others say I was a knight

Be this as it may
If the truth is told
of where it all began
it was when druids
claimed me their own

and thus I was born
from mists of myths
I am purple pendragon
also known as King Arthur

WHAT'S THIS LIFE FOR

"What's This Life For" we've contemplated evermore
longing to know eats feverishly at our inner core
All interpretations fall far short of sound
maybe in death reason for being is found

An Almighty proclaimed to have given life to humanity
a supposed "Gift" he knew was bound to be a calamity
Reality proves life is many things but a gift it is not
It's consistent heartache culminating six feet under to rot

It's sinister to give a "Gift" filled with constant sorrow
and assure joy is something we can occasionally borrow
He commanded we abide by rules knowing it wasn't feasible
some were obvious but expecting compliance to all unreasonable

What was the point of human existence beyond Adam and Eve
one sin warranted his decision 'humanity must forever grieve'
Putting all faith in a book of fairy tales is arduous at best
and never questioning what you can't see...surely you jest

Why create a life you predetermined to be an agonizing chore
all I've said raises the unanswerable "What's This Life For"
