Self-Portrait

Embedded image from another site

My verse reveals much about me
they are my songs
sometimes romantic
often adventurous
thoughts from an honest man
romance sometimes happens
my most noble poet friends
this I can tell-

Back in my early days
I guessed art as harmony and rhythm
off to the university I went
to become cultured and rich
but I prefer to be a poet
what then?

I have often suffered
and I have loved
a lot

perhaps enough to be forgiven....

A Time in my life ( not a poem)

There was a time in my life last year when I stumbled upon a site named CS.

During my time here I was very fortunate to meet some wonderful people and I will never forget you. Some who became friends and some who just comment on my blogs or poetry . To those who have been a friend or who just commented I thank you for your friendship, time and opinions. I hope my scribbles brought some joy and nice thoughts in your life and not sorrow. I hope you have a smile when you remember me. If during this time I have offended anyone I sincerely apologize as that was never my intention.

Life is very short but it is also very sweet.

These last two months have been challenging, emotionally and especially physically so I am going to recharge my spirit and body. As the young people say ...Imma gonna do me!

To those who remain here I say take care and good luck to those who are searching. I hope you all find what you want.

Remember spend time with your loved ones and continue to be gentle with each other as we are all on life's journey!
Show the world the beautiful people that you are and SMILE !

To the wonderful poets on PC keep writing and sharing your amazing talent with the world! Know that you all will always have a special place in my heart.

Blessings and peace I wish you all until we meet again!

Under Ben Bulben

Under bare Ben Bulben's head
In Drumcliff churchyard Yeats is laid.
An ancestor was rector there
Long years ago,a church stands near,
By the road an ancient cross.
No marble,no conventional phrase;
On limestone quarried near the spot
By his command these words are cut:

Cast a cold eyes
On life,on death.
Horseman,pass by!

To.Miss JEANIEMAC : )

Let's go for a drink of delicious coffee!!!
With you and me and Fergus!
And Mr.Mick ; )

Oops! I'm wake up time!!! Morning : )

Let those scars take second place

If you have a dream, or a sudden perfect need
Would you take that first step, to see where it could lead
Cos up until this day, you have never had more
So take this one chance, and open up that door

You know how to think, and you know what should be
But through your scars, the vision you no longer see
You need to remember, that one simple rule
You miss the shots you don't take, this game of fools

Like petals on the rose, or the calming wind off a wave
The world is naturally blessed, but those scars still misbehave
When there is traffic ahead, you look for a different road
But why not apply this to life, don't let the pain take hold

Never forget, that you have this single meaning
Don't just sit on the fence, its time to start leaning
You look at what you have, and feel the sun on your face
Live every moment like your last, let those scars take second place

About this poem:
Hi Guys, Not been on here for a long time and those that know me it usually is once in a blue moon when I want to empty some thoughts.

Never sit and wait for something that only you control. You must appreciate what has been, what is now and what is ahead.

Dont let past experiences stop you on your journey. Take chances.

Thank you

July Third

I think of all the wrong that is done in the name of freedom
90 million dead Indians
Three million dead Vietnamese
600,000 dead soldiers in the Civil War
57,000 dead Vietnam War soldiers
Over a million dead Iraq citizens
Countless millions dead during World War I and II
Stealing oil
Stealing land
PTSD
Homeless veterans
Unpunished criminal military atrocities like rape and murder
Friendly fire
Nameless victims
Decorated soldiers
Unfair justice
Countless tombstones all in white

About this poem:
Just got done watching a documentary about rape in the military. 20,000 women and 20,000 men are raped while serving in the armed forces while the perpetrators go unpunished. Now we are going back into Iraq, it's all pretty sad.

An Angel

Hello she said with a beautiful smile
Ill be your nurse at least for a while
She reached over and brushed the hair from my face and wiped away the tears
Dont be afraid honey Ive been doing this for years

You,ve been with us for a few days yet I know none of it you are able to recall
So if you have any questions Ill try to answer them all
You were wounded in a battle that was fought in the night
Somehow your enemy got in and tried to destroy everything in sight

Dont shed tears for your brothers for they all made it through
The worst that happened happened to you
They didnt think you were going to make it when they brought you in
Thats why Ive come to see that you live again

Ill remain at your side till you need me no more
Now you must relax sleep a little you have a great future in store
You are in good hands and you have done your best
You saved them all when you covered the gernade with your chest

Sarge screamed the young man as he tried to sit upright
Wheres the nurse the one that held my hand last night
There are no nurses son yet they both could not denie the sweet lingering smell
But there are angles and someday this story we both will tell

Dare

Dare to sing in cathedral hall
Dare to dream when nightmare call
Dare to laugh when hearts do sigh
Dare to cry as love goes by.

Dare to dance in daylight dawning
Dare defy thy heart's due warning
Dare to touch an angel's wing
Dare to hear a siren sing.

Dare, when caution ere derides
Dare and let the heart decides
Dare to love; however small
Dare to give thy very all.

Anguish

I turn twist and churn
A fire from the heart burns
My love is most true
Tho I hear not from you
My heart singed in review
In our love so brand new
I cry tears of anguish and regret
To you show no love still yet
I open my arms to you
Still I squirm in anguish so blue
I adore your love tho of it have none
I wish these bindings be undone
For of the truest love you are one
Please show me the light of the dawning sun
It shall warm us both and one
Anguish departs as we kiss under light of moon
We shall make love very soon
A suit of love I adorn
Now my anguish come undone

I am here

I am like the open sea flowing and free
I am like the open air free without a care
I am like the open ground strong and all around
I am like the open fire hot and full of desire
I am nature strong and true always here for you
