starry river

Starry River (Zvyozdnaya reka)

A starry river of the sky...
Parting on the map...
I love you but for the time being
"Farewell" I say, "farewell"
I am the one who burns bridges
And I don't hear prayers
I am frightened to come down
To the ground from proud heights

In the age of sorrow and losses
We are both unhappy
The light of earthly icon-lamps may go out
But not the stars
We go away from ourselves
Into bad weather and growth
But the fate is determined
By the stars, by the stars

Even the starry ocean
Is unstable today
Our cosmic love affair
Is over, is over...
A starry river of the sky...
Parting on the map...
I love you but for the time being
"Farewell" I say, "farewell"

Those lucid eyes of yours
Are beautiful like stars
Days and voices may fade out
But not the stars...
A starry river of the sky...
Parting on the map...
I love you but for the time being
"Farewell" I say, "farewell"

the birthday of my death

The Birthday Of My Death (Den' rozhdeniya moyei smerti)

Today at daybreak
I lost a shadow of my hope
I entangled myself in the nets
Being too lazy to disentangle though
And as if under the spell
I forgot the order of days
Is it my birthday today
Or the day of my death?

I am all alone in this world
Only emptiness awaits me ahead
Is it roof or a thin line
Under my feet?
I am nearly God's equal
I am higher than the king
I will put my foot on the edge
And say: "Hello, Earth!"

And then at one stroke
I will solve all my problems
And in the end I will sin
By my imperishable ashes
I know that sooner or later
Whether you believe me or not
It will come anyway -
The birthday of our death...

opera # 1

Opera # 1

We always want more than we have
We always want more than we have
And anguish grasps our hearts
We stagger in an autumn wind
We are filled up with someone else's joy
Inflamed by someone else's feasts
Like sunshine on a glade
We draw our heads nearer over the tables

I'll embrace you, tipsy like separation
And take you in my arms
I won't share you, wild like abuse
Either with an enemy or a friend
It rarely happens to me like this
I will give you a bit of happiness
You will swing like light in the windows
And moths will rush towards your light

opera # 2

OPERA # 2

My house has been built but I am alone here
The door banged behind my back
An autumn wind is knocking on the window
Crying over me all over again...
Thunderstorm at night and fog in the morning...
The sun has turned completely cold
Old pains are following one another
Let them all get together!

My house has been built but I am alone here
The door banged behind my back
An autumn wind is knocking on the window
Crying over me all over again...
This is Fate and I can't
Ask anything of Fate!
I just know how the winds
Will be wailing after I'm gone

dreams

Dreams (Mechty)

Another reality...
Many people want to see it.
Another mentality, another dimension and another sense
of time, colours and sounds.
Does this other world really exist?
The world of illusions, fantasies,
the world of DREAM...

You are somewhere nearby
Or are these only dreams?
Somewhere nearby with poison
I'd better put on my eyes
To distinguish the colour of your soul
Or are these only dreams?
Yes, these are dreams...
Yes, these are dreams...
Dreams... Dreams...

I am handsome like a baobab
Or like a crab dressed in aqualung
I am in a paroxysm of beauty
Or are these only dreams?
It is all because of your eyes
Poison in one of them, a tear in the other
I've brought you flowers
Or are these only dreams?
Yes, these are dreams...
Yes, these are dreams...
Dreams... Dreams...

soul

Soul (Dusha)

Can you see the soul smiling?
My feet are quickening their pace
As if I really had wings behind my back
But there is no one chasing after me
Look - my wet soul is drooped
Although there is no stick or knife above it
The body's marble melted into soft wax
And the computer brain flew off to the devil

Soul, where is your place?
I have a stitch in my right side
I stooped with bated breath
Something broke again all of a sudden
Blazed up, went out and caught fire again
A voice coming from far above
A new pain where wings should be
Faces of the stars are laved with downpours
And I nearly grasped the comet's tail

circus

Circus (Tsirk)

Everybody is laughing and cheerful dwarfs
Are blowing up balloons
And petards explode like fireworks
The circus arrived and everyone is smiling
In this circus we are all spectators
We are all beasts and tamers
Everything here is far too familiar to us
We feel at home in this circus

Everything is simple here and very mysterious
And the clown burst into fits of laughter
Because the gymnast had fallen down
He just wanted to turn a somersault for us
We all gathered her not by chance
And it's not a secret any more
That we are all clowns in this circus
And the gymnast's legs are broken

We all grew up in this circus
And derived only one idea
Everyone thinks about the same -
How to avoid turning into an elephant
But they all want to become magicians
And they shout and wave their flags
Although they are ordinary spectators
Just station keepers and nothing else
Acrobats and sword-swallowers
Tightrope-walkers and snake-charmers
Rope-walkers and strong men
Lilliputians and stuntmen...
Everything is relative in this circus
And we laugh inexpressively
Because everyone is worried
Lest he should stay by the side of the road

Went to a garden party

Went to a garden party but found no one was there
Got another invitation but no one told me where
And so I went down to the local to drink another night away
And then I received another invitation
That I should have got yesterday.
Well that night I had one too many
And could not see straight ahead
And when I awoke that very next morning
I was in another bed
But there was no one there to hold me
Or to even make my whole heart beat
And so although I must have been invited
My whole world was still not complete
Well I left that bed at mid day with no one else within sight
And although I should have left a little note
I wasn't quite sure just what to write
And on walking down that empty street
I just thought what will I now do
And then I got another invitation though I just don't know from who.
Well that night I had another drink or two
To help see me through the night
And then again I read that invitation
But my name was not within sight
And although I could have went along to wherever it may be
It was not wrote down where I should go
And so they won't be expecting me
Yes I went to a garden party but no one else was there
And then I got another invitation but no one told me where
And so I went down to the local to drink another night away
And then I received another invitation that I should have got yesterday.

About this poem:
Wrote it when alone and single, hoping for something good to happen, like going out for a drink or two.
Still single after another wrong relationship, but its another poem to write, and i still wish her the best.
Looking for composer to add music, but cannot pay,so it would be 50/50 if poem/lyric made money, but its the satisfaction of being successful thats more important to me.

Love is (A Sad, Sad Song)

(Love is) A Sad, Sad Song

I play my song's with broken chord's
In haunted halls of humbled lord's
I try to conjure music that moved you before

You and I were thick as thieve's
Thier court we held but would not heed
Now our happiness fade's with the leaves

Pre-chorus
We use to be people who sang along
When the days were short and life was long
They can still make heart's break, These simple song's

Chorus
Such a sad song
Love is a sad, sad song
Such a sad song
Love is a sad, sad song

My deamon inside must have spoke to
Sweet angel that lay beyond the blue
Your eyes were a trap I fell into

In my tower, on I rave
Of the heart I stole, and the one I freely gave
Of the friendship lost, The love I could not save

Chorus

In these hall's my chord's ring true
With passion that tore us into
I still yearn to play these song's for you

Chorus

Live For Tonight

Another story written down
In the pages of our lives
Talkin bout how we laughed
Until we cried
We said we'd live until we died
But who's to say when
This pen will ever run dry

All i'm trying to do
Is just live for
Tonight
All i'm asking of you
Is just live for
tonight

We put some miles on
These broken soles of ours
We had some falls
Got some bruises
And some scars

They remind us
Of the lessons
We had to learn

And now we're older
But we're still learning
What it is to burn

All i'm trying to do
Is just live for
Tonight
All i'm asking of you
Is just live for
tonight

Bridge/Solo

All I'm trying to do
Is just live for
Tonight
All I'm asking of you
Is just live for
Tonight
