I've been searching for you
While you're searching for me
Taken my time
Taken it all so easy
Hoping you don't pass by
I've been lookin in the mirror
To see what I could see
The truth staring back at me
There will be no more lies
For I am set free
It is one step backwards
Two steps forward
I am on board
Life is for the living
And that's where I will be
There will be times of happiness
And times of tears
Life don't change
Because you walk without fear
It's not in what you say
But what you do
Please don't pass me by
I am searching for you
I had to do some rearranging
A bit of a thing called changing
I'm in no hurry
Just taking my time
Might not look like I'm seeking
But I will be hoping to find
Life is for the living
I will be living mine

You know Dasher and Dancer
And Prancer and Vixen
Comet and Cupid
And Donner and Blitzen
But do you recall
Another reindeer
Rudolph the reindeer!
Had a nose!
And if you ever saw it
You would say nothing!
All of the other reindeer
Used to accept Rudolph completely!
They never let Rudolph
Lift anything on his own!
Then one foggy Christmas eve
Santa came to say
Rudolph you can't help!
Christmas is ruined!
Then how the other reindeer
Had unfair unexplained expectations of Rudolph!
And they cried!
Rudolph the reindeer!
You're the same as any other reindeer!
(Rudolph) I don't know why, but I'm sorry!

About this poem:
This is a parody of Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer by Elephant Larry. This is my favorite new Christmas parody song. It is from a show I used to listen to back in the 80's, the Dr. Demento Show.

Some people come into our lives
their soul effect is that they help us to realize
how transient so many things can be.
But, Darlin' that's not true of you and me.
Sometimes I look into your eyes
and marvel at the crossroads in our lives.
What makes a fool upon up their eyes to see
what matters most is love and the will to be?
For people come and they will go~
Like shooting stars and you'll never know
why they're leavin' or
what made them come.
But you touch my soul
as constant as the sun.
Master Time can make or break so many things
and the shifting sands of fate might take you away from me.
But as the dove has one true love until she dies,
I'll always love you, Honey,
no matter where you fly.
Oh pain has been no stranger to you to me,
and if change and pain mean growth then let them be.
So let us fight and strain while we share what life may bring~
As long as you love me, Honey, it can't bother me.
For times will come and they will go
like shooting stars~leavin' only after glow.
But from the very beginning I've known you were The One.
Oh you touch my soul
as constant as the sun.

Fast to fly, flock of birds
Beating chrome wings, casting shadows
Over golden meadows
I stand still, gazing skyward
Wondering why, to realize
What will hypnotize
First to fall, frozen white stars
Descending downward, touching ground
Without any sound
I feel hushed, numbing cold
Shivering calm, to discover
My soul will hover
Nothing at all, answers me at last
Walking homeward, dying daylight
My lonesome plight
I fall silent, darkness pervades
Replacing life, will ever imbue
The secrets I knew

About this poem:
An abstract poem about quiet reflection and the arrival of winter.

Late one night, a hollow moon
Dances so light, across the sky
Hear the coyotes cry
On the ridge, when passing by
Falling stars, I wish upon
See my troubles gone
Fast to sleep, a dreamy night
Running so hard, against the wild
Frightened horses smiled
In the meadow, through waving grass
Nothing lasts, to remember
But still September
Far to go, ‘till morning comes
Washes the sea, crashing the waves
How crazy life behaves
Out my window, across the bay
Sailing fast, I ride alone
Still on my own

About this poem:
An abstract poem about dreaming on a lonely night.

The Sun Will Never Shine Again
nor thunder will the sea.
No moonlit summer skies ahead.
There'll be no nights of ecstacy.
Tomorrow's only promise now
is barren emptiness.
The dazzling world
I once saw through raptured eyes
has fallen cold and colorless.
I remember laughter with you.
Your silhouette against the sunset captured me.
The dazzling autumn days held no glory next to you,
the starlit sky no magesty.
My very life began with you.
Now that you're gone
there's nothing left to do but cry.
Two lovers torn apart
though love will never die.
and since you've gone away
I know the sun will never shine
for me.
The sun will never shine again...

We will cry, and we will shout. But will the angels hear our call?
We will cry, and we will shout. But will the angels hear our call?
I hear the screams of children running, I hear the sounds of people gunning.
I see the bombs flashing in the sky, as my mind is screaming, "Why?"
Why fight this useless battle, why fight this useless war.
In 20 years we'll all be back to fight for something more.
This scarred flag that we all fly, raising high to show our pride.
Hides the fact that we are shamed by our leaders that have lied.
Greed is the motive that our leaders use to fight.
Yet they hide behind their words and they hide behind our strife.
Their banks are packed tightly up to the brim, their futures bright while ours are dim.
They fly around in their expensive jets, while we're up to our eyes in debt.
So will we fight for our right to ignite our inner light?
Or will we fall to them all and crawl to their call?
Stand up! Scream it! We don't want any more of this.
Rise up! Speak out! We are done with this.
It all solves nothing, because in the end.
It all starts over again.
A wife sits with a baby at her home, crying as she clutches onto the phone.
In another country, in another land, there is another family that would understand.
Two apparent enemies, their families torn apart.
By a war that none of them ever had any part.
An oprhaned child sits all alone on the streets.
His parents killed by strangers marching in fleets.
The innocence in our hearts dying as our soldiers stand to fight.
The hope in our hearts dying as our soldiers fall to the plight.
They all claim that they are doing what's best, meanwhile all of our voices are oppressed.
Yet their family and friends are all protected, while the rest of us are affected.
So will we fight for our right to ignite our inner light?
Or will we fall to them all and crawl to their call?
Stand up! Scream it! We don't want any more of this.
Rise up! Speak out! We are done with this.
It all solves nothing, because in the end.
It all starts over again.
So will we fight for our right to ignite our inner light?
Or will we fall to them all and crawl to their call?
Stand up! Scream it! We don't want any more of this.
Rise up! Speak out! We are done with this.
It all solves nothing, because in the end.
It all starts over again.
We will cry, and we will shout. But will the angels hear our call?
We will cry, and we will shout. But will the angels hear our call?
Oh, oh, beware. It will all start over again....

About this poem:
This is obviously a war song. I'm in the middle of writing a story, and it in the main character is fighting in a war she has no choice but to participate in. I wrote this song as sort of a "background song" to them marching to an ongoing battle. It is a mix of rap/metal. Italics are of a regular, flowing singing (by a woman in my head), while the rest is harsher obviously, (this time in my head, it's a male.) However it pops up in your head is up to you though.

Tomorrow is a promise
like so many I have heard.
Promises are easily broken
for they are only words.
Yesterday has vanished.
Tomorrow never comes.
I can't live my life
for memories
or waiting
on the dawn.
You ask "What of tomorrow?"
and Beloved, you've got to know
that I would to never leave you
beause I love you so.
But there've been so many others
who swore their undying need;
so I don't count upon your love.
Sure as I do, you'll leave.
"Tomorrow... Tomorrow,"
so many people say, "I'll love you still tomorrow,"
and then forget to love today.
But "Tomorrow, tomorrow..."
is but a promise,
cold and gray,
for all we have is memories
and the time we share today.

About this poem:
Consider this: "Love" is a VERB--and ongoing process of being the best soul you can be with each passing moment.
An oldie from 1984, this little song popped into my mind a few days ago, out of nowhere, and asked to be shared. Hope you enjoy it.
Sorry I have been away so much of late. I'm working feverishly on the sequels to "Chalice" and on final edits of that herculean story. I could use a few beta readers. If there are among you any who'd like to get a free electronic copy of "Chalice" and review it for me on amazon, write me and I'll be happy to arrange to send you a .docx file.

The other night when I was in bed,
With too many things in my head,
I went walking through the land of the dead,
Walking through the land of the dead...,
I heard all the things that they said,
I have many demons I dread,
Faces in the places ahead,
Whisper things I'd like to forget...,
Death's with me but she is my friend,
Said "Come and be with me in the end",
So I follow wherever I'm led,
We keep walking through the land of the dead...,
Now I'm laying down in my bed,
It's been made the sheets are all spread,
When reality and fantasy blend,
I know I wont be back again...,
Yeah...Walking through the land of the dead,
Walking through the land of the dead,
I been walking through the land of the dead
With these faces in the places ahead...,
Death's with me and she is my friend,
See it's our destiny to be in the end,
So I go wherever I'm led,
Walking through the land of the dead...

Im not sure that I have been myself
Oh well now what do I do?
When I look in the mirror and I see my face
I see you were never there for me
23 years have passed, but now that time has gone
You were who I believed in
Now look what youve done to me
Realize what youve done to US!
Well now that I think about it
It has always been you, about you
Now its just F*#k you!
Exit my mind as I feel my life come shivering
all through out my body.
My walls have been crumbling, tearing out everything
Its my fault I made this
Now I can destroy this
I can kill you!
The bull sh%#@ter, the lower denominator
Thorn in my spine, I uplift my eyes
As I stumble upon this new life Im finding
Your walls have been crumbling,I'm tearing down everything
Your broken machine helped destroyed this
Now I must rebuild it
