God song

Random acts of vengence
just so hate can breed
Those of us who hurt ourselves
are victums of our greed

A pergatory of permanance
a place to place your brain
Because once you look inside yourself
you'll never be the same

Poetic propoganda
to make you think your free
Don't believe a word you heard
unless it came from me

Self inflicted sorrow
lies consume our lives
Life repeats itself
and in the end everybody dies

Apcolyptic exile
ashes of pain
Death, deatn, death
F**k the world and all the rest

I create
I destroy
I recreate
and destroy again

Friend

It's been some time since I've seen you smile, but then
I've hardly seen you at all
Are you still doing that same old dance
In that fatal new age ball?

If you could see out your window tonight, you could
See a billion stars
Tell me does anything shine for you
In that distant place you are

(chorus)
I never thought I would see you here
Of all of the places we've been
Oh, how I miss you
Friend

I remember our high school days, and that
Crazy way you laughed
Now you just stare off into space
Are you ever coming back?

(chorus)
All the girls were so crazy for you
And you were so crazy for them
Oh how I miss you
Friend

(bridge)
The road was hard, it was long sometimes
Nobody said it was easy
So you took a little something
To ease the pain
And now you've drifted so far away
Can you even hear me?
Oh, it felt so good not to hurt anymore
You took it again and again and again

I hear the wind on the window pane, and my
Voice is running low
I just don't know how to reach you
And I don't know what to say anymore

(chorus)
Visiting hours are over now
And I don't know if I'll see you again
Oh how I'll miss you
Friend

Oh how I'll miss you
Friend

About this poem:
This is a song lyric that I wrote about visiting my best friend in the hospital after he had taken a massive overdose of hallucinagenics and other drugs and regressed to a catatonic state. After years of hospitalization and therapy, he was finally released, where he commited suicide. The devastation wrought by drugs is so widespread and so deeply felt.

King of the unwanted

I am the king of the unwanted
I want nothing that I'll ever need
I have nothing that I'll ever want
And that nothing is my everthing

And you lie for what you lack
You have everything and give it back

I've got big bruised black marks
When I go down I go down hard
I've got nothing but that's alot
And I'll break when I'm dropped

And you lie for what you lack
You have everything and give it back

I hold the key to misery
Give it time to soak in
Come with me and you can see
The unwanted never win

And you lie for what you lack
You have everything and give it back
And you lie for what you lack
I can't wait to see you crack

Feel Like You

I know that I'm not
What you wanted of me
I wanted to heal
You want me to bleed
I wanted to feel
Watching you go
I needed to find
What you needed to know

And I was running on brainwaves
Trying to stay alive
But I couldn't stay away
Long enough to find

I want to be what your are
I want to see right through your heart
I want to feel just like you
I want to die then I want to kill you

I want you for always
Never again
I really mean that
When I can pretend
I practice faking
With nothing to show
I wanted to want to
But now I don't know

And I was running on brainwaves
Trying to stay alive
But I couldn't stay away
Long enough to find

I want to be what you are
I want to see right through your heart
I want to feel just like you
I want to die then I want to kill you
I want to see what you are
I want to be what's inside your heart
I want to kill just like you
I want to die so that I can feel you

The Constant Shadow

I can see your light, it burns for all to see
It shelters you from pain and agony
I can't see your light, it burns to bright to see
It brings me only pain, and takes me to my knees.

Life, a living lake of ecstasy, and I don't want to see, your life unwind, another fantasy, and its not meant to be, but its your life.

And so we see who we are, and we know we must leave
Son take a break,
for its your soul, we must retrieve.

You embody hate, you're full of virtue and hate
but you will suffer, yes you will suffer
we all will suffer, we dirty lovers
Its time to pay.

So do you know it yet?
The way I feel it, the constant shadow
An emphatic depth
A triumpic death.

A Lovely Distraction

Heritage comes from around the corner,
you think that i'm wrong its a mental disorder.
So come on let's go outside and see,
another reckless tragety.

That's why you hate me,
you tell me you hate me,
say why you hate me now.

So i'm sorry to tell you, but want you to know,
your stupid pompasity has got to go.
So tell me why you can't leave me be,
another reckless tragety.

Tell me you love me,
I wish you would love me,
say that you love me know.

Sorid creations are fit to whether,
I know why my life can repose from a letter.
I'ts a tasteless mirage by roadside sign,
A lovely distraction to keep mind.

A Song For You.

You ripped the strings out from my heart,
you could have had it from the start.
You never knew which way to go,
but really how could you have known.
I'll bring you with me to the skies,
so you can lose me in your eyes.
That's why I wrote this song for you,
that's why I wrote this song for you.

Now I can see what you do to me,
and even though you are carefree,
the time has come to let me know how you feel.

You ripped the strings out from my heart,
you could have had it from the start.
You never knew which way to go,
but really how could you have known.
I'll bring you with me to the skies,
so you can lose me in your eyes.
And so I wrote this song for you,
and now there's nothing left to do,
but for me to say,
I love you.

Sad Guitar

Saturday night again
Oh, it seems to never end
They say there's love out there for everyone

They say every show has a star
And so I play my sad guitar
Sad guitar

There in the dark of night
With all the music and the lights
And all these faces that I've never seen before

Oh, I never know where to start
And so I play my sad guitar
Sad guitar

Looks like it might rain
Sky is cloudy and gray again
Oh, but that's OK, that's just the way I feel

But there's a fire inside my heart
And so I play this sad guitar
Sad guitar

Under the light of stars
God, I'm so tired of the bars
But I'll keep playing 'till our paths converge someday

Oh, I know she can't be far
So I will play this sad guitar
Sad guitar
Sad guitar

About this poem:
The third song I ever wrote, I think I was 17, playing the bars with a friend of mine, too shy to talk to the ladies.

Temporary Home

A little boy, six years old
A little too used to being alone
Another new mom and dad
Another school, another house that will never be home
When people ask him how he likes this place
He looks up and says with a smile upon his face

This is my temporary home, it's not where I belong
Windows and rooms that I'm passing through
This is just a stop on the way to where I'm going
I'm not afraid because I know
This is my temporary home

Young mom, on her own
She needs a little help, got nowhere to go
She's looking for a job, looking for a way out
'Cause a halfway house will never be a home
At night she whispers to her baby girl
"Someday we'll find our place here in this world"

This is our temporary home, it's not where we belong
Windows and rooms that we're passing through
This is just a stop on the way to where we're going
I'm not afraid because I know
This is our temporary home

Old man, hospital bed
The room is filled with people he loves
And he whispers
"Don't cry for me, I'll see you all someday"
He looks up and says
"I can see God's face"

This is my temporary home, it's not where I belong
Windows and rooms that I'm passing through
This was just a stop on the way to where I'm going
I'm not afraid because I know
This was my temporary home

This is our temporary home
