My Coat

Put away my basket and sewing thread

Whilst memories of how you use to be

Decidedly were better left unsaid

Each repair sewed lovingly yet still see

The scars that have changed how you once appeared

There's nothing more that I can do for you

I will don you for what you are, no more tears

There's nothing left for me to really do

Memories of colors that showed so bright

Faded replaced by a different hue

I could think of what once was or what might

Or just except you for what you've been thru

Sometimes life has a way of changing course

To move on you must let go of remorse

Just One Slowburn Kiss.

Wandering lost, devoid love's fragrant scent,
My need for you so bad, you'd ne'er believe,
Cruel East wind bites my skin, without relent,
Dreams of you bring warmth, my pain relieve.

Nought I wouldn't give to hold you close,
And share with you this feeling bursting through,
To celebrate life's gems, I love the most,
Abundant Nature's flowers & birds.....and you !

The lyrics of my song deliberately plain,
Played from raw heart strings, no fancy script,
I prayed love soon to sate our yearning twain,
This heart for you, so 'oft a beat has skipped.

One slowburn kiss ! My eyes in yours to stray,
To trade my soul, such price I'd gladly pay !

Darkened

---- IMAGE REMOVED because photobucket.com no longer allows embedded images ----

Toys scattered over the play ground, lost
Taunts cries lingering as if in a stance
All gone, but one left with darkened feelings
Holding onto life's gift of second chance

Searching deeply for strength to continue
Gathering power to hold close to thee
No need for mirrors every step engraved
No one knows me better than I know me

Releasing visions of what I would like
Freeing destiny to be as it should
Paining myself by allowing it so
Letting go of what one knows is not good

Torn but still completely whole my soul bare
Some weights in life one must carry not share

Epitaph to Love.

Eyes I spoke of once, words that burnt then,
hands that cupped soft thy lovely face,
took me from myself for such a space
of time, marked me out from other men,
the waving hair of unmixed gold that shone
amid smiles that flashed with Angelic rays,
used to make this earth, a paradise ablaze,
are but now a little dust, all feeling gone,
I grief stricken, its darkness foreign to me,
alone where light I cherished never shows
in that fragile bark strewn on tempestuous sea,
so, let my loving song come to a close,

as this my Lyric turns to tearful sigh,
the vein of my accustomed art is dry.

A Wedding Day, Sonnet.

Love's destiny, thus two rough diamonds drawn
in the opening hours of loves exclusive dawn,
whence from the infertile mundane shore,
love polished bright its glistening facet store,
highlighted vowed love, to be friendship personified,
where each and every caressing detail amplified,
like as, the touch of hands e'er so importantly,
as the sweet and secret realms of intimacy,
though clouded skies there well may be,
when sombre portends challenge loves philosophy,
would'st pleasure scupper sacred vows integrity,
remember, ever burning bright is loves illuminosity,

Thus, the simplicity, that love and marriage
is a special journey, in life's upholstered carriage.

Love’s Many Faces

Our love has endured its share of sorrows,
the foolish mistakes...the ache of regret.
We aimed our dreams toward each bright tomorrow,
vowing forever, to never forget.

With each anguished tear we have shed for love,
we have grown and changed in such diverse ways.
Time doles truths we have long been afraid of,
while love succumbs to the old, worn cliches.

The years have well proved what we always knew;
I live in your heart, as you live in mine.
Wherever you go, whatever you do,
this love will not fade with the trials of time.

The past will not steal our dreams as before...
We forgive, we let go...we love all the more!

Enough(a sonnet)

I may not ever be, all you desire,
I may not give you all you'll ever need,
I have not as yet worn the knights attire,
Am I then somehow less than once perceived?
So you play role of damsel in distress,
and I play him that seemeth not to care,
but with one look, one kiss, one soft caress,
remove the ill from mind and tension spare.
I am the thing you crave despite charade,
I speak a language makes your body weak,
your wish is my command I will obey,
'til valleys peak as we lay under sheets.

I am what you need no less, just enough,
'til you reach highest crest and whisper love.

A Baptism(sonnet 1)

My fair lady, cry to your hearts' content,
I'll cup my hands and, ev'ry tear capture,
Pain is the thing which the heart doth contend,
'Til time can heal and settle the matter.

But if tears must fall from your angel eyes,
Let joy be the reason rivers do flow,
Therein we will bathe and be sanctified,
As we become one, two halves become whole.

Let laughter replace all sadness within,
'Til vision is blurred so eyes cannot see,
And Glad cracks an angel face with a grin,
'Til drops become puddles; rivers, the sea.

Full of glee like a child on grandpas' knee,
When your tears do flow let them wash o'er me!

A LOVE SONNET

Roses are flowering her in Brittany,
like as a Nun's God given care,
cloistered robed in unsung divinity,
flourish in its soft fragrant air,
far from Winter's deep untrodden snow,
in unearthly ways weaves her spell,
loves quietude, like bounteous rivers flow
revive the spirit more than words can tell,
thus with thee here and with my heart,
the Rose's perfume shall around us play,
intoxicate the hours of our hand held day,
where silence sweet, soft thoughts impart,

Embrace with me this earthly care,
words but vain where love is rare.

About this poem:
The roses have just started to bloom here in my lovely garden, they are the harbinger of love, how better to extol them, than a sonnet.

A Sonnet to friendship.

Friendship shall halt the power of time,
like boyhood days that seem not to fade
amidst those long lost spheres sublime,
when, to unforgiving time we joyous played,
rare such virtue true, slumbering sweet
with thoughts more rich than gold,
its voice unknown to thunders roll, entreat
the heart that ne'er grows old,
united, bonds mutual strength, thus found
a hallowed ground, much blessed, heroic deep,
harvest sweet unspoken words profound,
where love's silent voice its honest tokens keep,

friendship gilds the value of each weary day,
annulling, all life's stormy paths away.

About this poem:
To have a true Lady friend, is often subjected to ill founded thoughts, thus this sonnet is written to such a special Lady, the passage of years have not tainted one iota of the close bond we share.
