On Thursday, one day after a Michigan poll had President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney tied in the state, The Detroit News endorsed Romney for president.
The newspaper acknowledged it was not a shoo-in for a conservative-leaning paper to endorse Romney because many in Detroit support Obama's auto bailout, but the paper wrote that while "Obama came into office in 2009 riding a wave of hope and change," he has unfortunately "not delivered on the nation's yearning for change nor on the specific promises he made to fix what is broken."
"The president is asking the country to be patient, but his plan isn't producing results that would merit more patience, and the President hasn't spelled out what he would do differently in a second term," the paper wrote.
In endorsing Romney, the paper cited his business background and the fact the he has "has been an effective leader his entire career, both in business and politics" and as governor of Massachusetts, worked "with a Democratic legislature to produce difficult health care and education reforms."
"We are optimistic he can restore the art of compromise to Washington," the paper wrote. The paper also compared Romney to Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder, who ran as "one tough nerd" in the 2010 campaign:

I don't know if some people understands the way that investigations work, but they take time. He did have security. If you will look it up, three U.S. Marines died with him. They would not want anyone 'not legally' being there. A political convention is in part of the legal process of the country. It just that the DEM want to be legal one time in four years. While the rest of the country wants to be legal all the time in four years.

Romney uses lies and scare tactics about Jeep in an attempt to win Ohio
Mitt Romney hit a new low in telling outright lies Thursday when he told a crowd in Ohio that Jeep a going to close down its plants in the U.S. and move them to China.Romney then said after he is elected he will do everything in his power to keep those jobs here. Even after he was told his statement was false, Romney repeated it in another city.
There is a major problem. Romney was telling a lie. Jeep has no intentions to close American production. The company put out this response to Romney shortly after news of his lie were made public:
“Let’s set the record straight: Jeep has no intention of shifting production of its Jeep models out of North America to China. It is simply reviewing the opportunities to return Jeep output to China for the world’s largest auto market.
U.S. Jeep assembly lines will continue to stay in operation. A careful and unbiased reading of the Bloomberg take would have saved unnecessary fantasies and extravagant comments.”
The Romney lie is even more outrageous considering that JEEP announced this week that it will add a 3rd shift an 1,100 jobs to it Detroit assembly plant, and is investing $500 million to upgrade its Toledo plant. Romney had nothing to say about that. Why would Romney cheer for America when he can trash her?
Romney knows he must win Ohio if he is going to win the election. He has trailed in the polls for months. One in sic jobs in Ohio are directly or indirectly tied to the auto industry. Obama saved the auto industry, Romney said “Let Detroit go bankrupt.” Now he has to Etch A Sketch that statement in order to have a chance in Ohio.

Former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty were part of a small team who were at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. Consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team came under attack. When they heard the shots fired, they radioed to inform their higher-ups to tell them what they were hearing. They were told to “stand down,” according to sources familiar with the exchange. An hour later, they called again to headquarters and were again told to “stand down.”
