Moderater Bob Schieffer for the most part stayed in the background of the third presidential debate, but he got caught making one notable verbal gaffe, confusing the names of the president and America's former most wanted terrorist.

Schieffer, the CBS News host, referred to "Obama bin Laden" when introducing a question about extremist groups supported by Pakistan.

"We know that Pakistan
has arrested the doctor who helped us catch Obama bin Laden," Schieffer said. "It still
provides safe haven for terrorists, yet we continue to give Pakistan billions
of dollars. Is it time for us to divorce Pakistan?"

The final face-off between President Obama and Mitt Romney focused primarily on foreign policy, though it occassionally veered into domestic issues, like the economy and taxes.

The election race on the DEM has a to be a trying thing these days.....it is effecting their sense of humors negatively.

Take this one from John Kerry who played Mitt Romney, the next President of the United States in the trail debates with Barack Obama.

Come on DEMs admit it. You all lost your humor, when Barack Obama selected in the DEM Rules Committee over Hillary Clinton in 2008.
And you took the nominee selection out of the people's hands.

Romney had the last word in the debate last night. He went straight for the undecided voter, with it. Estimated to be anywhere from 4% to 7% of the electorate right now. But in the close race, it is this undecided voter that makes the final decision.

Here is what he said....

"I'm optimistic about the future. I am excited about the prospects of our nation. I want to see peace. I want to see a growing peace in this country, it is our objective. We have a opportunity to have real leadership. America is going to have that kind of leadership and continue to promote the principles of peace. that will make the world a safer place and give the people of this country more confidence in a secure future."

"I also want to make sure the economy gets going. And there are two very different paths the country can take. One path represented by the President will mean at the end of four years, we will have a 20 trillion debt, headed for Greece. I will get us on track with a balanced budget. The President's path will continue to see less take home pay. I want to make sure our take home pay turns around and starts to grow. The President's path means 20m people out of work and struggling for a job. I will get people back to work with 12m jobs. I'm going make sure we get people off food stamps, not by cutting the program but by getting them jobs."

Morning Ttom. I was waiting for that yahoo poll because it's a much bigger sampling than the 521 "random" internet sampling CNN reported. I smell a rat with that one, but it's really not an issue.

Long story short, I think Romney may have just sealed the election. He took the high road and firmly established himself as having the leadership credentials, while Obama took the Chigago route. One came with a plan, the other with insults. It was embarrasing to see our Commander in Chief so petty and mean-spirited.

Moreover, fact checkers IMMEDIATELY clarified that Obama was wrong on three major points: Obama was wrong on the Status of Forces argument; he was wrong on the military budget and bayonets; and He was wrong on Romney's position about Detroit bankruptcy.

CNN says it's too close to call. I think Karl Rove said it best when he detailed the poll results. Obama's leadership creds remained the same, while Romney's went up several points.

"We look at these debates principally when it comes to effecting our vote at the attitude, tone and sense of the debate and we also look at it in terms of the specifics of the debate. Tonight it looks like while Gov. Romney may have "lost" the debate, he looked like a Commander in Chief and presented himself in a presidential way with the president's tone being much too aggressive and petulant and oftentimes times downright nasty.

The tone of the debate and how you present yourself matters a lot. The line about "they don't use horses and bayonets" -- that was a little too over the top. You could see that President Obama just doesn't like Mitt Romney and he can't hide his contempt for him. On the other hand, if Romney doesn't like Obama, he has a pretty good poker face for someone who doesn't play poker.

Romney had a very strong closing. He didn't talk much about foreign affairs, he linked it back to economy and had a very bipartisan tone. Tonight we saw the Romney strategy for the next 15 days and that is pound on the economy. There was a big contrast in tone between the two. Romney was calm, Obama was hectoring and went after him. Then there were Obama's Louis XIV moments -- "this nation - Me" and "when I took the shot." It was unusual and came off a little pompous. Like Louis XIV masquerading as the President of the United States."

The Status of Forces is a big deal for two reasons. One it shows what your relationship with the country is going to be after the troop withdrawal.

Biden could not get Maliki to sign on to the Status of Force for Iraq. It was one of Obama first foreign policy failures. GWB had a
Iraq Status of Force done. It signed, sealed and delivered. But the
Obama wanted to make changes. Maliki rejected them.

Second what ever Obama offered Iraq. He will likely offer Afghanistan in 2014. They were rejected one time. So unless he add more to them....they could very well be rejected a second time.

We (the Bush Administration) were very creative in those Iraqi Status of Forces. We had solved a big problem of arming the three Iraqi groups inequality. If you arm say the Shia with heavy weapons....which is what Obama is doing now....they will ultimately use the heavier weapons against the other two groups. You get a Civil war situation like that is in Syria now.

Obama was elected and now is selling F-16 to the Maliki government, that will only have Shia pilots flying them.....

All I know we were stumbling over the status of forces in 2007 and the main stumbling block was this inequality of heavy weapons to the three sides.....I had a idea on them.....submitted it to GWB administration...in a week he was in Baghdad to sign them. So it worked for the Maliki government at the time. What ever Obama offered via Biden, did not work.

The way I understood it, Obama wanted the Status of Forces - but didn't want the forces, which seemingly negates the entire concept. laugh

The GWB Status of Forces was not going to leave very much in the way of ground troops in Iraq either. Likely more than Obama would leave.
But we had solved this heavy weapons problem.

So when Obama wanted to renegotiate the Status of Force....Maliki turned it on him....and made a weapon procurement program to acquire heavy weapons for the Shia. Imbalancing the countries military and sects....and ultimately they will be used by the Shia to suppress the Kurds and the Sunni. Because heavy weapons win the battle in most cases and times.

Which takes us back to Syria. For all the humantarian aid and offers to set up the SFA....unless Obama or Romney (or the Arab League) gives the SFA heavy weapons....this civil war will just go on and on and on.....with no end in sight.

Obama wants the DoD funding cuts by Sequestration so badly, he can taste them. With out the trillion in defense spending, he can shift the money to civilian benefit programs. He can say this is the money saved from ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. See I did not use the credit card.....

Why else would he sign them? If they ultimately did not work into his civil programs.

But now that you have a middle east that is aflame....Sequesteration does not look so smart to do. Cutting our military by a trillion when Embassies are being assaulted and burned is not the smartest thing to do.

So he is trying to have it both ways.

Kevin Thomas Third Debate...
11-more Fact-Checked Lies by Obama

1. Obama lie No.1 “We are the same on Syria.”

-No Romney wants to arm the freedom fighters and not waste time with UN and Russia while 30,000 are killed (mostly children and women).

2. Obama Lie. No.2 “Bayonets and Weapons”

-Can someone tell Obama the marines still use bayonets and military still uses horses in the Middle East. Also, Obama wants to cut the military by 53%.

3. Obama Lie No.3 “I will stand with Israel”

-Obama refused to talk to Netanyahu so he could go on a talk show. Then 38-Democrats wrote Obama a letter begging him to repair his relationship with Israel.

4. Obama Lie No. 4 “This nation…….ME!”

Bahahahahaha, what an ego…it’s the economy stupid!

5. Obama Lie No.5 “Romney wanted to liquidate the auto industry.”

-Everyone has read Romney’s article in the NY Times where he said he wanted to put them through a managed bankruptcy, which actually protects the company, and what Obama eventually had to do anyway.

6. Obama Lie. No.6 “Didn’t want a signed Status Forces Agreement.”

-Leon Panetta and the VP tried to push through a signed Status Forces Agreement.

7. Obama Lie No.7 or just stupidity-“Biggest threat--- is Terrorists.”

-Romney’s answer of Iran with nuclear weapons is far superior.

8. Obama Lie No.8 “I have kept America Safe.”

-Gee, I wonder if the people in Libya and Fort hood feel safe, or that you covered up the truth and refused to call it a terrorist attack in specific terms.

9. Obama Lie No.9 “I did not apologize”

-Wait, Obama took a foreign trip---skipped over Israel , visited other middle east countries and said—“America dictated and was derisive to other nations.” Wow, Romney nailed you on that.

10. Obama Lie. No. 10, “I want Iran to give up nuclear weapons.”

-That’s funny, in the VP debate, Biden said you weren’t worried about Iran because they didn’t have the material to build a ---container---- to hold nuclear weapons. Hmmm…..

11. Obama Lie No.11: “"We Have These Things Called Aircraft Carriers... Ships that Go Underwater"

I will add a number 12 to that list.

Hussein claimed he took the shot that killed Bin Laden.

factsrknown: The third question is about Obama's response to Egypt, and whether he was right to back the ouster of Hosni Mubarak. Obama launches into a long monologue about how his administration is trying to help foster greater openness and enlightenment in the region, and then turns his answer towards discussing how he wants to focus more on nation-building at home. When it's Romney's turn, he explains why he, too, supported Mubarak's ouster. He then takes a step back to describe America's mission in the Middle East, noting that we have no choice but to be involved in the region, and so we need to be strong. That means a strong economy, a lower debt, and a prepared military, as well as strong allies in the region.
Romney answers bigger, sweeping in scope, fluent, and much more Presidential!
The fourth question is about America's role in the role, and how each candidate would define it. Romney answers well, placing an emphasis on values of freedom and human rights. He takes his first jab at Obama--indirectly--by pointing out that the U.S. failed to stand with the Iranian people when they rose up against their leaders. Obama's vision is of an "indispensable" America, and he claims that America is stronger now than it was four years ago. He adds that the U.S. needs to develop more at home, citing "clean energy" technologies and blasting Romney's budget plan, which is awkward put in this context.
Obama's attack on Romney's domestic policy gives Romney an opportunity to drive home his policies, including his five-point economic plan, which he does with fluency and conviction. He does seem somewhat more comfortable with domestic policies, and it was likely a mistake for Obama to leave him this opening. Obama does not counter by stating what his own economic plan would be, but simply by attacking Romney's policies. Obama then pivots to education policy, repeating lines from the first debate about how he would hire more teachers--and then attacking Romney for allegedly opposing more teacher hires. Romney counters by defending his education record in Massachusetts. Obama interrupts--not for the first time--and says, "That happened before you came into office!" Twice. Romney grants him the first, but not the second.

The liberal media in America is quiting! It is giving up on him!!

Yes it it true!

Clark has decided that his intergrity is more important than to continue to write the forced drivel of his liberal editors of the Planet. It does not hurt that Louis has a new boyfriend. And staying at the Planet would only break Clark's heart.

But he now happily wears his Romney and Ryan button....without any peer pressure from the liberal reporters at the Daily Planet. Clark has placed a Romney and Ryan bumper sticker on. Voted early for the REP nominees. He is even promising to wear a Superman suit and fly into a few late Romney and Ryan rallies......to help get out the vote.

I am really glad you brought this up.

Number of times in the last debate Barack Obama used the word "peace" in his debate summary..................................................zero

Number of time in the last debate Mitt romney used the word
'peace"...................................................four time in his summary

Barack Obama is no longer the canidate of "peace and prosperity". After being talked into a Libyan military response by parties from Europe...that did not have Congressional approval.....Barack Obama has become the "war making" President of the United States.

Barack Obama has no vision for peace in the world. He will simply rubber stamp any military operation that his Liberal friends in Europe wish him to.

Barack Obama talks about bringing the men home from Iraq and Afghanistan as if that is peace. But it is not. Not when you have violent demonstrations on the door of US embassies and deaths in American consulates.

His failed vision of peace did not bring Israel and the Palestine any closer to together on a middle eastern peace agreement. They have not talked in the last two years.

The reason Barack Obama cannot draw a line in the Iranian sand with Isreal. Is simple. Peace is not in his heart or agenda.....

Having been a journalist in Egypt for six years in the’70s, I have witnessed socialism with an Islamic twist to be a popular political ideology, especially amongst Arab journalists and intellectuals. Socialism and even communism have managed to survive in the ruthless Islamic political system as an alternative to full-fledged Shariah. The two ideologies blended together in the Baath Party in Syria, Iraq and socialist regimes in Egypt and Yemen. One major difference between the two ideologies is that Islam uses Allah, while socialism uses atheism, to fight the God of Christianity. Free democracies such as the United States are alien to Islam and socialists because they regard government as a servant to the people and believe that human rights are from God and not from government or Shariah.

Having said that, both Shariah and socialism united in their envy of Western society and needed to change it. That is when Obama became the savior of both Islam and socialism. He embodied both ideologies, socialism and Islam, and was groomed for years to help the socialist and Islamic causes inside America. The claim that Obama is a Christian was a silly joke, but a necessary lie for the greater cause of changing America to fit the goals of socialists and Islamists.

Obama became the one, the savior of both Islam and socialists. For that Obama had to deny who he really was. That is why Obama’s actions and words never added up. At the recent Catholic charity dinner speech, Obama did not seem just to be kidding when he said that Romney uses his middle name, Mitt, and “I wish I could use my middle name.” Obama was referring to his Islamic middle name of Hussein. In Obama’s mind he was not ashamed for having deceived America, but he blamed America for putting him in this quagmire of having to deny his true pride in his middle name.

That brings us to an important discovery by WND in an article by Jerome Corsi entitled: “Obama’s ring: ‘There is no God but Allah.’” The article shows close-up photos of a ring still worn by Obama today in the White House and that he has been wearing since his visit to Pakistan as a young man. The ring, which later also became his wedding ring, has very tiny and discrete Arabic calligraphy that means nothing to Americans, but to Arabic speaking people like myself and Dr. Mark Gabriel, means a lot. Such Islamic calligraphy is common all over the gold markets in the Muslim world. I am not a writing expert, but I can clearly see on the ring the word “La Ilaha IllaAllah.” Such a sentence in Arabic has a lot of the letters A and L, which in Arabic are simply a straight line like the number one.

The only explanation for Obama’s little exciting ring secret is that he is a closet Muslim and feels that he can serve Islam best if he denies his being a Muslim for the purpose of a higher aspiration: to serve the Muslim world from the White House, in Islamic terms the higher jihad. Obama has no problem whatsoever in lying for the sake of “hope and change” since lying about being a Muslim in a majority non-Muslim country is allowed under Islam. Lying for the purpose of jihad in Islam is not only allowed, but an obligation to be proud of and a means to blame the enemies of Islam for one’s lies. Shariah law states: “Lying is obligatory if the purpose is obligatory.” Muslim clerics have no problem lying not just to the non-Muslim world but even to the Muslim masses, since Islam also allows Muslims to lie in order to bring Muslims together in harmony and friendship.

Obama believes that he uniquely understands the Muslim world and will bring a new era of peace with Islam, at least during his administration. There are also strong rumors in Egypt that when Obama met with the Egyptian foreign minister, he confided in him that he was a Muslim and that he would help the Islamic cause in America after he passed his health-care bill.

But as president of the United States, Obama was in a quagmire between protecting American lives and being loyal to Islam and appeasing his Islamic friends. Placing American Marines in U.S. consulates in dangerous terror-infested Islamic countries was going to jeopardize a bloody confrontation between American security and Islamists. That was also going to discredit Obama’s theory of Islam having nothing to do with terrorism. Also, if Obama were to confront militarily Muslim jihadists in Islamic countries, his whole theory that he has brought a new page in American/Islamic relations would fall apart and he would be no different from his predecessors, Bush or Reagan.

That explains why the demands for American security instead of Libyan security by U.S. Ambassador Stevens went unanswered. Obama did not want to deal with the possibility that American Marines would shoot at Muslim attackers to save American lives.

Also, according to Shariah, it is a capital crime for a Muslim individual or leader to shoot Islamists for the purpose of protecting Americans. That would make Obama, if he secretly considers himself Muslim, a violator of Shariah and an apostate. If Obama considers himself a Muslim and wears an Islamic ring, as is obvious from the photos, then he must have had a very hard time deciding how to protect the consulate without killing Muslim attackers. That is why his administration had to settle for the lesser of the two evils: to get Muslims, Libyan security, to guard the embassy; this way it would be Muslims who would have to shoot other Muslims to defend the consulate. But that plan was useless because even the Muslim guards had to follow Shariah and ran away, leaving the Americans to be killed rather than violate Shariah themselves and kill other Muslims. Obama gambled with the lives of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others and left them as sacrificial lambs rather than violate Muslim attackers.

Now we have Obama having never fulfilled his promises of peace with the Muslim world. The murder of the Americans at the hand of Muslims did not even get us an apology from any Muslim leader or cleric. No one is taking responsibility, not even Obama.

With the terrorist attack in Benghazi, Islamists and jihadists made it clear to us that they couldn’t care less about Obama, his appeasement, his apology and even his Islam. They could not put on hold their jihad or restrain themselves for an American president who wanted to help build a better image of Islam to the world. They could not play the game with Obama and refrain from jihad even during the Obama presidency. Jihadists declared that Obama, Muslim or not, is just another American president who should not be trusted. No leader, Muslim or not, can get away from the wrath of Islamic jihad, and that is why an Islamic angry mob was recently torching Obama’s effigy in anger.

It is unfortunate that it took a tragedy in Libya and the lives of decent Americans to prove that Obama is unfit to be president. Obama has fooled many Americans for four years, and that is why when he sees the face of Romney he is reminded of a reality he could not fully eliminate. Obama knows the game is over and his presidency is over.

stringman: Having been a journalist in Egypt for six years in the’70s, I have witnessed socialism with an Islamic twist to be a popular political ideology, especially amongst Arab journalists and intellectuals.

WhatUwish4: Morning Ttom.
