maybe she would escape through the window in the bathroom of the restaurant...if the date was not going well or if she was just looking for a free meal

LeeCharming: if a man pays for the dinner date...would a woman think of him as a pushover and also think of him as a future cash machine
Well the only thing attractive about some men is their money, so what would be the point of going out with him if there were no prospect of her getting her hands on some of it?

LeeCharming: it never happened to me...when i went on dinner dates with women...maybe it's projection on your part
No, the only woman I have ever taken for a meal was my wife, and there wouldn't have been much point in her snaking out of the restaurant, she would only have had to explain herself when I got home.
I'm sure it never happen to you Lee, and for the same reason that it probably never will.

are trying to talk for women? Do you not think it disrespectful to push your views onto women? You sound controlling dude

women don't dislike me enough to do a runner on a dinner date...but my company is good and my charming ways can make them blush

Why does my making an observation come across as controlling? But, if a woman comes and challenges my comment on the grounds of it being controlling, I will consider the possibility that it might have been. Can I say fairer than that?
its supposed to be 2022 if women acted as equals then they should pay for a date just like the guy. the main thing being whoever asks for the date. if women would act like they say they want to be treated theyll ask a guy out to

a woman asking a man out and paying for the date better chance of winning the lottery...me thinks
would it be empowering...for a woman to pay for a dinner date...with a man? would that not display a woman has her own money and happy to spend it on a man she's dating? what do women think?

Every woman thinks different. It sometimes depends on culture or even class. Paying for dinner is not quite like flashing her your American Express gold card. Why would a dinner be equated with a cash machine?

Passing thought: I'd forgotten American Express was considered top notch in Europe. Not quite so great in America. :-)

The idea of "power" should not be present in a dinner date ...
I went out with a Russian woman here in Oslo off a dating site. Twice. First time I paid: two latte and two drinks at a second place we landed on. Second meeting I paid a dinner for two. At the end of that, on our way to a pub where friends of hers was waiting I thought I was gonna test here, so I said: would you perhaps pay for us the first two beers when we get up there(?) her answer was (I kid you not) "I have no money". Her age was about 40 and she had 3 children 3 cats and one dog.

My special friend would never allow me to pay for dinner out. It makes me feel special and my company valued. In return, he receives many nice homecooked meals and special treats....it makes him feel special and valued. It does not occur to me to place a monetary value on these simple ways of showing our appreciation and affection for one another.
