There are many different ways that people express, and celebrate, joy/happiness. With all of the unpleasant-ness that seems to pervade our lives each day, I wanted to focus on something pleasant:)

I never completely celebrate anything unless it involves my daughter.
It's my experience that just when you think things are going good and your life is turning around for the better that's when you let your guard down and bad times are knocking at your door.

Whilst I understand what you mean (and have actually felt the same sometimes), that's sad...we should not let such thoughts steal our joy though.
In contrast to the devil gets you at your highest moments I say one good turn deserves another. After receiving some good news I'm going to be somebody else's good news now.

Can I add to that it's good news personally for me. Trying to emotionally get away from good/bad news in the press because it's mostly bad news that happens as an exception that we come to regard as a rule. The usual doesn't make the news so through the media we come to judge everyone and everything through the prism of exceptionally bad. Internet generations perceive rare and exceptionally bad events as everything that happens in the real world.

I'm starting to sound more and more like Grandma but it's true. The world just seems a scary place by ignoring the run of the mill context of all things. Bad news is endless in a world of 8 billion but still most people are ok.

I still love my phone chats on Viber from my lovely friend in America. It was so nice receiving the 4 boxes of the "Irish Potatoes" which you can only get around St Patricks s" Day in America. Oh Ryan's Original Irish Potatoes.
