They realized that during the Bushney years, they had also stopped listening to the American people. They had a disconnect. Well the Tea
Party slicing thru the Rhino REP in the primaries, taught them the lesson.
So they are trying to return to the basic of good goverance. Listen to your voter and work with him to solve his problems. Congressional and Senators get several 1000 phone calls on a given work day. I have seen the phone logs several times to this.
Then add in emails, letters, and other communication...and I think that you see the information over load, that their staff gets into. One problem might be easy to solve, while another is a long term study to see if it is justified in cost and has a best solution.
Government is not the solution to all our problems. But we will call 911 asking to arranged marriage or a date. Yes, it has happened. One of the things that they forget to teach in Civic class, is when do you have a personal problem and when do you have a goverance problem. We tend to push everything to government and let them handle it.
So on one side of the issue, I think that the REP are falling in to the same wishy washy trap that the DEM did. That is try to please all the people, all the time, for all the wrong reasons.
But they had become disconnected from the people, or the Tea Party would not have diced them as was done in the Primaries. So if this is a move to reconnect. I say it is a good thing. If it is move to aborgate their elected responsibilities, to a feel good and power to the people position, then it is a bad thing.
The worse thing I can think of presently is a entitlement government bent on empowering the people. That is political trash talk for give me you vote next time and I will give you a dollar today.
As Americans, we need to stand for our values with intregrity. That is were we get our empowerment. We get our entitlement, when those values shine thru and are founded in our lives. There is not a single dollar that exchanges hands in that transaction of good faith and good will.
That is also when we stop being the 'ugly American' around the world.
Because now we have stood for something that has value and a greater moral purpose. That is also were we find the solution to many of our problems. We will also find that we like ourselves and love each other....a whole lot more....in making this kind of interaction and transaction.

I think that i put together why Obama pulled the Predator out of Yemen.
Back in August of this year, two civil rights groups....ACLU and the Center for Constitutional Rights..filed a law suit against the FED government use of lethal force on al-AWaliki in Yemen. al-Awaliki is a American.
So they wants full due process (e.g trail and conviction) prior to any death sentence. Obviously the electronic Predator makes little distinction to having formal charges read on a guilty verdict.
Now according to other reports, Obama stopped the Yemeni Predator flights in DEC of this year. But that is the time of the X-Mas bomber over Detroit. They knew from day one, that al-Awaliki was involved there. The Nigerian has been very cooperative.
Yet Obama still pulls his main al-Awaliki getting weapon out of Yemen? This has been bothering me.
But I think the answer lies in the ACLU and Center of Constitution Rights court cases. I bet that both filed intents to sue with the White House prior to filing the suit in August. In other words, the White House saw the legal issue coming and pulled the Predators because they did not want a legal beef with the civil rights groups.
Then al-Awaliki's father hears of the intents to sue.....and presses for the case to be heard. This to protect his son....So the ACLU and
Center of Constitutional Rights file.
It is a very interesting and complex case...the legal question if the Constitution and the Patriot act give the President the power to have a American killed abroad? This is a case that you pull out your yeggie board to come close to predicting a ruling. Nothing is clear cut and defined in the case and it is all new legal ground being broken.
But it also shows..that this White House....if they kept the Predator from flying those Yemen missions....in reaction to pending legal cases....is falling to use all of its resources to protect the American people. al-Waliki is shoulder deep in the recent package bomb attacks. He has 16 American killed and another 31 injured in that one attack, most of them men and women under his command. He ought to want al-Awaliki so badly that it hurts. But he is pulling the Predator out of Yemen?

Back in August of this year, two civil rights groups....ACLU and the Center for Constitutional Rights..filed a law suit against the FED government use of lethal force on al-AWaliki in Yemen. al-Awaliki is a American.
So they wants full due process (e.g trail and conviction) prior to any death sentence. Obviously the electronic Predator makes little distinction to having formal charges read on a guilty verdict.
Now according to other reports, Obama stopped the Yemeni Predator flights in DEC of this year. But that is the time of the X-Mas bomber over Detroit. They knew from day one, that al-Awaliki was involved there. The Nigerian has been very cooperative.
Yet Obama still pulls his main al-Awaliki getting weapon out of Yemen? This has been bothering me.
But I think the answer lies in the ACLU and Center of Constitution Rights court cases. I bet that both filed intents to sue with the White House prior to filing the suit in August. In other words, the White House saw the legal issue coming and pulled the Predators because they did not want a legal beef with the civil rights groups.
Then al-Awaliki's father hears of the intents to sue.....and presses for the case to be heard. This to protect his son....So the ACLU and
Center of Constitutional Rights file.
It is a very interesting and complex case...the legal question if the Constitution and the Patriot act give the President the power to have a American killed abroad? This is a case that you pull out your yeggie board to come close to predicting a ruling. Nothing is clear cut and defined in the case and it is all new legal ground being broken.
But it also shows..that this White House....if they kept the Predator from flying those Yemen missions....in reaction to pending legal cases....is falling to use all of its resources to protect the American people. al-Waliki is shoulder deep in the recent package bomb attacks. Had they gotten al-Awaliki earlier with a Predator strike....there is a pretty good chance that these attacks would have been disrupted.
So do we have a case were....the ACLU and Center of Constitution Right...have placed Americans and others into harms way? Or a case were the White House meekly submitted to liberal legal pressure to keep the issue of killing American abroad from being made.
This spreads over into Pakistan as well. Home grown American are joining up in Pakistan with alQeada and the Taliban. Ghadan is a good example. Can bin Laden use the American Ghadan as a human shield to keep a American Predator from lighting them both up?
