Exports from the United States increase closing the gap and effectively lowering the trade deficit.
You claim that Mr. Obama has done something to cause the deficit. There are two things that he could have done to have an effect on the trade balance;
First, to enact protectionist tariffs and restrictions on imports. I can’t find any evidence he did such a thing. It would have been a stupid move even if he had.
