Thank you for sharing some of those facts. I am with you....as far as being baffled is concerned....you bring up some good points and some things that should not be overlooked as well.
It is easy for me to sit back here...after the fact and play armchair quarterback...while we are in the middle of this thing. Fair.
But, we citizens of this beautiful country, are in some cases, forced to buy insurance. What is insurance for? Well...just in case something bad happens, we are covered.
I really don't know anything. But, I have to believe what the news stations are telling me....and we are now leading with the most cases, and that baffles me.
another reason it is as bad as it is, it is reported our supply chain from China for our supplies was interrupted. Okay...fair enough if it was for some plastic toy or something.
But...something as important as life and death was not already in stockpile for something like this?
You know, I mentioned this last night...but, I do wonder if this is a big enough event to be life changing. If so, let's hope it changes for the better....with a little less greed and a little more love.
Pom...I have heard a lot of beautiful things about your country. Maybe I should change the title of this blog...I guess I didn't mean it to demean other countries.
I don't follow politics all that close...but from my understanding, the reason why we didn't have a universal healthcare system is that it would take away incentive for competition with offering top notch care.
Z....that is true also. I know China has a huge population and the way it sounds things are under control there. But maybe not.
I just know, through the years, there have been shows that have covered things like thing...posing scenarios where a virus spreads across the globe. It would have been nice for countries to have been prepared for something like this ahead of time.....it seems like it should have been a given, especially with the outbreaks in the past few years.
Jim, I love my country too. And you are right, there is room for improvement with everyone of them on this planet. I guess the point of this blog is, if this is a lack of competence in our leadership...lets as civilians of this wonderful country recognize that and hopefully not repeat the same error twice.
Molly, maybe you have not heard it...but I know I have heard it here many times.
Z....it is just unbelievable that we have the top level of reported cases....maybe there are a lot of other unreported cases in the world; therefore, under reporting.
I don't know...really, I don't. It just baffles me with the numbers that are being put across my tv screen and we are suppose to be a great country..."again." If you use somebody's own words.
Something that just crossed my mind....I have been drinking an unusually large amount of water lately. Before this isolation, I think I was on the run a lot and never really paid too much attention to if whether or not I was properly hydrating my body. But now, that I actually have some thought power left over to actually pay attention to my hydration, I have been doing that....drinking a lot of water.
If...hopefully I don't get sick....but if I get sick, would it not make sense that it would be better to go into that stage very well hydrated....seeing that having your typical flu usually leaves on on the edge of dehydration? I have heard that people who get the Corona virus hardly have any energy to even move. So...for what it is worth...this just crossed my mind.
I have managed to create a busy schedule for myself, even while being locked down. The weather around here is actually beginning to warm up a bit. Spring is coming. :) Once that happens, there is a lot I can be doing outside too.
U.S.A.....making it great again
