Thanks Saskia! I can't express how much I appreciate your kind words, for I find you very encouraging. You are very unique, in that you take the time to understand me,in inspite of our differences. This is to be commended, for you rise above the rest, when it comes to being positive and supportive of me. I can't help but to have respect for you,for you are a remarkable lady! God bless you, dear!
Are you really sure that you know the truth SY? That's truth for you and not for me,if I know one plus one equals 2.
If something is true, then it's true for everyone regardless of a person's perspective or religious beliefs. For one plus one equals two for everyone, everywhere.Lol.
However, you give a incorrect veiw of what Chriatians believe, regarding the Trinity. It's no wonder, that you are confused about this doctrine. For if you don't state it correctly then you end up attacking a veiw, that Christians do not hold.
God is like one to the third power: 1 x 1 x 1 = 1. He is not 1 + 1 + 1 = 3(which is three gods).
A triangle has three corners and yet it is one triangle. Likewise, there are three persons in one,and only one God.
It's not a contradiction to say, God is three persons in one essence.
As to lawyers, you act like someone has put you in a courtroom and you are on trail.Lol. Of course people are going to disagree with you if you are teaching false doctrine. For the Bible says to test all things in light of scripture...Dear friends,do not believe every spirit, but test the spirts to see wheather they are from God,because many false prophets have gone out into the world(1 John 4:1).
Since the teaching of Christ deity, is an essential doctrine of the Christian faith, there must be conviction without compromise. Hope you understand?
For it's better to be divided by truth, then to be united in error.
For the bottom line is not what I say,or what you say,but what God has said, corncerning his Word? For that is why I disagree with you when you say that you are not coming here with your Bible but with your experience about the Bible.
For we are not to use our experience to interpret the Bible, but rather we are to use the Bible in interpreting our experience. For all "subjective experiences", are to be tested in light of God's "objective Word". Only then, will you experience the true God,by worshiping Him in spirit and in truth(John 4:24).
Jesus is love! But he also said...stop judging by mere appearences, and make a right judgement(John 7:24).
Jesus said we are not to judge self righteously or hypocritically(Matthew 7:1-5),but we are to use a right standard of judgement, when correcting error John 7:24; 1 Timothy 3:16-17).
I would think twice about accusing others of making wrong judgements, if you have not used a right standard of judgement yourself(the Bible)in correcting and judging others.
You are free to comment however you wish, but I will continue to freely share the divinity of Christ...For in Christ all the fullness of Deity lives in bodily form(Colossians 2:9).
I agree. For our dependence, depends on the one Being Who is Independent(God).
Jesus said,"I am the vine;and you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him,he will bear much fruit;apart from me you could do nothing(John 15:5).
May we daily, continue to seek the source of our of spiritual life in the true Vine(Jesus). God bless you!
"There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way,is there anyone on board who can fly a plane?" -Airplane-
Though some of your comments were erased(Lol),I thought you gave some good answers to the blog titled "Women's world.
For you are right in saying that men and women are equal. For men and women are equally created in the image of God,and both have equal value and worth(Genesis 1:26-27).
Though they may differ in role or function, they are still equally human, for they share the same nature.
I like the humility you expressed in your willingness to wash Jesus feet, and I like the humility you expect in a man, in washing your feet.
The fact that you stress a personal encounter with the living God is a helpful correction. For right doctrine alone, cannot move a heart, unless you are being filled and led by the Holy Spirit in allowing Him to change your life.
Our goal is not only to know the Word of God,but to know the "God" of the Word,as we seek a personal encounter with Him,in our daily walk.
Nice to see you Saskia, your always welcome to stop by.
Indeed, these are just speculations that have no bases in fact.
There many reasons why the New Testament Gospels(Matthew,Mark,Luke, and John) are more historically trustworthy than the so called Gnostic gospels.
First, the earilest Christians were meticulous in preserving Jesus' words and deeds. Second, the Gospel writers were close to the eyewitnesses and pursued the facts(Luke 1:1-4). Third, there is good evidence that the Gospel writers were honest reporters(see my blog titled: "Are the New Testament Writers Reliable")
Contrary to claims of the critics, the basic New Teastament canon(which books belong in the Bible)was formed in the first century. In fact the New Testament itself reveals that a collection of books existed in the first century. Peter speaks of having Paul's letters(2 Peter 3:15-16).In fact,he consider them on par with Old Testament"Scripture." Paul had access to Luke's Gospel, and quotes it in 1 Timothy 5:18. The churches were instructed to send their epistles(letters)on to other churches(Colossians 4:16).
For example, the gospel of Thomas(that is popularly used by a radical liberial group called The Jesus Seminar) falls nearly a century short.
Quoting Joseph Fitzmyer: "Time and again she is blind to the fact that she is ignoring a good century of Christian existence in which these 'gnostic Christians were simply not around.Lol.
Indeed, the New Testament says, that Jesus is God's full and final revealation(Hebrews 1:1,2). There is no more revealation after him.
Good to see you my friend. These are good questions, and I have answered some of them in my blog titled: "Atheist and their need for God." Perhaps, you didn't get around to viewing my answers?Lol.
It seems as though your asking, "How an all powerful and all loving God allow his Son to be mudered on the cross in order to redeem my sins?"
It seems to me,that is like saying ,how could a soldier fall on a hand grenade to save his whole company from destruction?
Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends(John 15:13). And Christ died for us in that while we were yet sinners(Romans 5:6). So I would think that "the highest act of love" rather than the implication of the question (is a very unloving thing to do)as a matter of fact, it's the most loving thing that could be done.
The Father has a role of loving, and the Son has a role of giving. What the Son did, he did voluntarily.
The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life-only to take it up again(resurrection). No one takes it from me ,but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from my Father(John 10:17,18).
So it was done voluntarily,it was done freely. It was the Father's love that provided the "means" of salvation, and it was the Son in submitting to the will of the Father that provided the salvation itself.
So as you see, God had a "higher purpose" in allowing his Son to die on the cross. For He permitted the evil of the cross, in order to bring about the greater good of our salvation.
For God's justice demands that sin be punished, for a just God cannot overlook sin,but his love reaches out to us,and provides a way of rescue. By Christ dying on the cross as our substitute,God can punish ours sins, without punishing us,when we receive his free gift of salvation. God bless you, my friend!
How could Non-Christian writers collectively reveal a storyline congrugent with the New Testament if Jesus never existed?
But the implications run even deeper than that. What does this say about the New Tesament?
On the face of it,non-Christian sources affirm the New Testament. While the non-Christian authors did not say they believed in the resurrection, they reported that Jesus disiples certainly believed it.
