If one does not have boundaries in how they give, their giving, can lead to burnout. Having limits does not make us selfish. Selfish is when we don't give at all.
"Hope" in the New Testament, means to have confidence, in what is coming, and not a mere desire or wish (Hebrews 6:11). Amen. Come Lord Jesus (Revelation 22:20).

Indeed, we constantly have to reinforce ourselves with positive thinking, for negativity can blind us, to seeing the cause of our own unhappiness. I find Scripture helpful, in accomplishing this task...

It's ok, really! Was busy all day yesterday, and had no chance to get to my computer. My apologies to you and everyone for my long absence.
Though there may be a tendency to compare ourselves to what others have or do, I think there is always a temptation, to think that we are never good enough, in the end. At least, that is how I use to feel, when I was not content, with who I was.
However, I do think getting inspiration from others is a good thing. For we can be moved into being "like" someone who we admire, without actually "being" them. Lol. For we are all unique, in our own special way.

People who fail to take responsibility for their own happiness, will often expect their partner to "make them happy," and will usually blame their partner for how they feel, if they have never resolved their own personal issues, before entering into a relationship.
In regards, to priorities...If we don't make the ultimate priority (God), the ultimate priority, we will ultimately be unhappy, in our attempts in finding lasting happiness.
