I believe in marriage. For God designed it to be a life long commitment between a husband and wife. Therefore, what God has joined together, let man not separate (Mark 10:9).
Nice message on the cross! For it is a reminder of God's sustaining love for us.
When life's problems become too heavy, Jesus says...
Come to me all who are weary and burden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30).
We can unload our burdens through prayer, for he is willing to carry what we cannot carry on our own.
In summation, many features point to a pretribulation Rapture, which best explains all the data in a consistent and comprehensive manner. Only the pretribulatiion Rapture fits the signless imminence conveyed in many New Testament passages, and no other model explains the clear difference between two aspects of His return:
In the Rapture, Christ meets them (the church) in the air (1 Thess. 4:17), and takes believers to heaven (John 14:3), He comes for his saints (2 Thess. 2:1), only believers see Him (1 Thess. 4:17), no signs procede it (1 Thess. 5:1-3), and the Tribulation begins (2 Thess. 1:6-9).
At Christ Second Coming (the Day of the Lord), He takes them to earth (Zech. 14:4; Acts 1:11), brings believers back (Rev. 19:14), comes with His saints (Jude 14), all people see Him (Rev. 1:7), Many signs precede it (Matt. 24:3-30), and the Millennium begins (Rev. 20:1-7).
It is not wise to judge a person's actions, if we have insufficient information, regarding their situation.
Things aren't always what they "appear" to be. Judging things by mere outward appearance is wrong. For Jesus calls us to exercise righteous judgement (John 7:24).
We are to judge by a right standard (Acts 17:11; 1 John 4:1-6). However, only God can judge another person's heart and make a ultimate judgement, regarding one' eternal destiny.
Therefore, do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are all a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality however, is found in Christ (Colossians 2:16-17).
Thanks my brother, I appreciate your kind words! He is risen indeed!
God bless!
Ed
Great to see you, my brother.
Contrary to John Dominic Crossan's dogmatic assertion, the liberal Cambridge scholar John A.T. Robinson conceded that the burial of Christ "is one of the earliest and best attested facts about Jesus."
This statement is not merely a dogmatic assertion, but rather stands firmly upon sound argumentation.
Thanks for reading my blog. This was actually an article by Hank Hanegraaff, as opposed to a book. Lol.
As to the Catholic Church, though I love and respect it's followers, I however, humbly disagree with many of it's teachings, especially in regards, to salvation, which is an essential of the Christian faith.
They reject the biblical view, that a person is saved solely upon the grace of God (Romans 1:17; 4:4; Ephesians 2:8-9) and instead, add works to their salvation.
Unfortunately, another gospel cannot save. For we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone (Romans 3:21-22; 5:1-2; Titus 3:4-5).
I agree, it's not easy. In fact, I find it humanly impossible, without experiencing the new birth, in which God gives us a new nature, when one trusts in Christ alone for eternal life (John 3:3; 2 Peter 1:3-4).
Yes. I agree with you. There is a righteous kind of anger, that we are to have towards evil. Jesus, exercised this righteous anger when he chased out the moneychangers (John 2:13-22). Lol.
However, in our anger we are not to sin (Ephesians 4:26).
God gave us a good thing called free choice. Unfortunately, Man misused that good thing (freedom) and brought evil into the world. As a result, we have all inherited a rebellious sinful nature through (Adam).
Our free will, is the direct cause of evil, not God. However, there is remedy for our sin and rebelliousness, and it is through Jesus Christ.
It doesn't come natural for any of us (including myself) to consistently respond calmly and patiently, to people, for this kind of love requires a supernatural source (God), working in and through us, via the Holy Spirit.
Jesus never said that to any of his apostles. Neither was all the apostles at his crucifixion, except one (John). Perhaps if you read Matthew 27:45-50; Mark 15:33-37; Luke 23:46; John 19:26-30, that will clear things up for you.
"Jesus Christ died for us to have our sins forgiven!"
Amen brother!
This is why they call it, Good Friday.
For God can use the free choices of evil humans to accomplish His purposes. Even when evil people commit cruel and unjust acts by way of their freedom, they can never obstruct the purposes of a Sovereign God.
