I'm a type two diabetic and I'm on Metformin (2000mg/day) and Ozempic (1mg/week). I have recently lost 80 lbs and can contribute some of it to Ozempic. But I have also dieted and exercised too. A combination of all has led me to where I am now. I still have 40 lbs to go. My A1C has gone from 7.8 to 6.1, which is almost normal.
Ozempic can be a good way to lose weight, but under a doctor's supervision is recommended. I've had no side effects and a friend who recently taken it has no side effects either. Anecdotal evidence but like I said, be careful and don't rely on the medicine alone to lose weight.
3:30am here in Sarasota. The storm raced past us and no power loss.
I've been through a category 3 hurricane when I lived in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It was scary and I'll never do it again. If people stay for a category 4 storm, they are nuts. Merc is right, the storm surge is a killer.
We were lucky in Sarasota. I pray for those in the Cedar Key area.
Maybe you can visit him in Washington for Christmas?
My uncle was just like you. He bought a house in Clearwater and thought his four kids would live in the area. None of them ever did but he was happy that they were happy.
Both my parents had lewy body dementia and my uncle also. Loulou is right that the episodes occur when the person afflicted is tired. Usually mid afternoon was when my parents would "act up". Funny thing is that they both talked about sex in graphic terms that they would have died from embarrassment before. My uncle would start cursing at anyone near him, again totally out of character.
I hope your friend's husband can regulate his medicine so his episodes can be minimalized. It is progressive with no cure as Loulou stated.
I was in a similar situation and decided to move forward after I read a book. It was a science fiction book, but it made me think life can and will get better in the future. I also had a wonderful friend who helped me through hard times. You can be that person to your friend.
I know it's crazy to change my thinking from reading a science fiction book. God works in mysterious ways...
Thank you for your kind words and birthday wishes.
I understand she lost her son to suicide not long ago. The pain in her heart and soul must have been unbearable. I hope she has peace now and she will be missed.
RE: I want to go on a cruise ;)
