There are certainly some corruptions that can be filtered out very well because there are many thousands of copies and fragments available from all over the history along with various ancient translations that actually prove that the text has been transmitted pretty well without major alterations. No other ancient historical documents have so much proof, ie Seneca, but you don't hear anyone complaining about them.
Another smart cookie. You know it all, don't you? How much time did you spend studying it? I bet you know next to nothing about it, so on what ground do you pass this judgment?
Does anyone think that there is such a thing as inner beauty? If you don't have that, your great looks turns into ugliness. However, if you have this inner beauty, your not so great looks can turn into something really beautiful.
Physical beauty is important, but it is only skin deep. Real beauty is much deeper.
Didn't you know we came from the Big Bang? Than somehow a lump of slime was formed, then it became a fish, that it learned to walk and become a monkey, than a human.
For me greater faith is required that blind, dead matter somehow smartens up like that.
It is wrong to pass judgment on something you do not know or have shallow knowledge about. There are many places where you can learn about it if you want.
I don't put scientists down just because they believe in the Big Bang. Oh, sure you think that is the great final truth, but you are not aware that the Big Bang is simply a model and there are dozens of others. And it is not always the best one that gets accepted and popularised. So in a sense Big Bang is also a religion - you either believe it or believe something else.
I simply state I don't believe in the Big Bang. However, secular people are so quick to judge religions they have no knowledge about.
"Inhumane actions" are not the exclusive domain of "religion and religious people". First of all, you should not generalise because there are many great people in many religions who give their lives for doing good and helping others.
Secondly, there is far more cruelty in the secular world.
Did you know how many million of children under the age of 6 died due to malnutrition and lack of medicine during the embargo against Iran? That was one of the main reasons that Bin Laden turned against the US. That embargo had nothing to do with religion. And as a retired CIA agent testified a few years ago, the US was directly or indirectly responsible for the death of six million people (!!!) worldwide since WWII. Nothing to do with religion again.
The term "word of God" always refers to the oracles of God as expressed in the Torah (the Law). The bible is a collection of various works, including the TaNaKH (abbreviated from the Law, the Prophets and Writings) as well as the Renewed Covenant scriptures. The "word of God" itself is the Torah.
Most Christians incorrectly believe the bible is the word of God, fundamentalists even believe it is the King James Version of the bible.
Wow! People have so much to give! Then why are we here? maybe something is missing, or over time we turn out intolerant, controlling or rebellious...

There is a difference between satisfying self and making love. The former is utterly selfish, the latter is giving... I prefer the latter. I like to think about myself as a higher being than a puppy.
