Well there'd be NOTHIN' natural about this one!

A dear friend of mine out in Colorado had her 2nd one at home alone with her 2yr old in the middle of the night while her husband was on the other side of the Rocky Mountains.
She said she just hunkered down between the woodstove & the arm of the couch & had her 2yo bring her a bunch of towels. Wrapped the baby in towels & waited for the paramedics to get there(about 1 1/2hrs).
They took her to hosp to have the cord cut & check up on everything.
She was x-country skiing up to her last 4 or 6 weeks. Maybe that's why everything went so well.?

I think that's about as close to natural as one can get w/o going out into the woods to give birth!

My cover pic is taken this year, it's my lifestyle that's 40 yrs old!


I used to pick fruit in Palisade & I've soaked in the hot spring in Ouray...wonderful!!!!

To be honest with you, I don't know!

But wouldn't it be worth a try?

Or are we all so self important that anything that challenges our position or our perception of our self importance that we must lash out like some mindless wild animal? No offense to wild animals as they have more presence of mind than way too many humans!


Ahhh, never mind! It's my folly to try to talk peace & love to a world mostly hellbent on self destruction. There will be no peace or survivors without the putting down of hatred!

URGENT that you just can't let it be until then?

If I could I'd love to hug each & every one of the people affected by the Sandy Hook tragedy & give what little bit of comfort/consolation
that it might bring!!!!!

SO many spewing hatred about "their" Christianity being attacked.
Wasn't it written that Jesus said love thine enemies, pray for those that do you wrong, put down hate & forgive, forgive, forgive!?
Isn't being a Christian about acting Christ like?

They're very sensitive to water quality. I think they also like the water on the acid side 6.5, 6.8 maybe & soft. Just like angelfish.

Did you leave the pair with the babies? Because the babies NEED that slimy/milk that the parents exude from their sides for the first couple or few days.

Do you have a Reverse Osmosis filter system?

My buddy would puree beefheart & add a few other things & put it in a 1gal freezer bag(about 2lbs./1k) he'd make up ten or twenty bags at a time which would last him about 6mos. He had a HUGE fish room, actually it filled his whole basement. He'd take the enameled liner out of dead refrigerators, patch the holes the racks & tubing went through & he'd have a 70gal sizing out tank for the young fish.

There's pretty good money to be had if your successful & have a few of the higher priced varieties.

What size tank are yours in?

Google them (if you haven't already) & you'll find plenty of info on keeping & breeding them & raising the fry.

Didn't watch the vid, but sinkholes are very dangerous!

They are basically plugged openings to caves. If you happen to be swimming in one when the plug breaks....bye, bye! As well, if you're speluenking in a cave and the plug breaks, can be just as deadly!

A side note to the adventurous, NEVER go into a cave if it's raining or going to be!

Of what I've made/tried, I'd have to say pears or sweet cherries!
They're sweet as candy & twice as dandy!

Bananas are pretty good too!

I tried drying cantaloupe, dried well but had a very different taste than fresh, not near as sweet!

In the late 70s I worked as a migrant laborer in the fruit orchards in western Colorado. It was great, we workers picked up all the wind blown & over ripe fruit & canned or dried most all of it!
Most fruits took about 3 or 4 days to dry in the Colorado summer sun.
We'd make fruit leather(fruit roll-ups) by pureeing it in a blender then spread it out on plastic wrap on plywood.
It's a great way to store fruit for the winter.

The problem with most commercial dried fruit is that they add sulfur
dioxide to preserve the color! Or they coat it in sugar like pineapples, mangoes & papayas.
