wave Hi "K"!

Send away. (It don't take much energy to read e-mail.) And thanks for the condolences - I'll get better, just gotta' watch my diet (sounds like I'll have to cut out everything that tastes good. laugh )

Hi Sweetie!

I hadn't even thought about music - although I almost never go anywhere without at least one harmonica - but I'll mention it to my better half and see what she thinks. Right now, it sounds like a good idea. (But then again, I'm rather sore and heavily medicated just now. laugh )

I agree, Daniel. thumbs up

Well folks, I'm back home again (unfortunately, due to another pancreatitus flare-up!) and I'm tickled to see so many responses.

Jackson has kept me up to date on developments and I'm still (in spite of being slightly under the weather) very excited about this upcoming event and I continue to believe that we can really make this happen! And if it turns into an annual event, then so much the better!

Right now, at a rough guess-timation, it looks like we've got about 8 or 9 "definites" (might be one or two that I missed) and half a dozen "maybes."

The location is now looking more and more favorable for Norris Lake Dam State Park/campground - it's beautiful, very easy to reach (About 20 minutes north of Knoxville on I-75, exit 128, 2 1/2 miles south on Hwy 441 to the entrance of the park.) and free with no reservations required.

If the lovely Jackson (and the $%$#$#! pancreatitus) will allow me, I will do some legwork in the next few days and get things zero'ed in -- might even be able to supply a few photos if anyone is interested.

We can will do this, folks! It'll be tons of fun and a chance to put voices to faces to personalities and go from "cyber aquaintances" to lifelong friends!

So come on and join the fun!

P.S. Jackson and I have both sent out several e-mail invitations, but we might have missed some, so if ya'll think of someone you know that maybe hasn't seen the thread or just hasn't been online for a bit, then feel free to send 'em an email invite on our behalf! The more the merrier -- and the sooner we can get a "count" on who's coming, the quicker things will come to fruition.

Many thanks to all the friends here on CS who have shown interest in this and kept things going in my absence. handshake hug

As it stands right now, we're kinda' thinking about a using a caterer and then just hoping to recoup expenses. There are several motels in the area, as well as quite a few good camping areas.

Amongst other things, we're hoping to have a batch of Sassafras tea made up as part of the refreshments. I'll try to find my old ball glove (just in case) and maybe dig up a frisbee or two?

It's really sounding good, folks!!! yay applause yay

Not right off hand, Stew, but I know they're out there. I got really lucky with the outfit I work for now - Strictly Southeast regional, I'm home every single weekend and usually a night or two during the week.

If nothing else, maybe you could luck into a run down here and then layover for the weekend - We're only about 8 miles west of the Pilot Truckstop at exit 117 off I-75. (I think maybe I could arrange to pick you up, or even give you directions to a closer place to park.)

Cool! Right now we're figuring on August 16th (Saturday) on Melton Hill Reservoir (The Clinch River) just a few miles west of where we live. I still have to check the availability of a specific location, but it shouldn't be a problem.

We'll get more details as we go along and I'll be able to send specific directions, as well as my cell # just in case anyone gets confused. laugh

Great Stew! I've got to go back on the road today, so my internet access will be hit and miss during the week, but if you can let me know which way you'll be coming in, I can get you specific directions and a cell # just in case you get lost.

Got it covered, Suze! So far, I think we've got about 8 "definites" and a couple of "maybe's."

And guys, right now the women out number the men about 6 or 7 to 2 or 3 - We need some help here! laugh

Summer Get Together in the Knoxville Area.

Knoxville is more or less centrally located in the Southeast. It's connected by two major interstates - I-40 & I-75 - as well as a number of lesser highways. There are a jillion or so hotels/motels, lots of friendly people and some of the prettiest country God/Mother Nature ever created.

We'd sure like to see a bunch of your smilin' faces show up for the doin's!

If you're interested, then let us know - either by posting on this thread or sending Jackson or myself an e-mail.

Again, the sooner we get an idea of who all can make it, the sooner the details will sort themselves out.

Fun times for all!!!

Come one, come all! We're planning a CS meet & greet in the Knoxville, Tn. area for Mid-August.

Things are tentative right now, but we're thinking about a picnic/campout style get together on the banks of the beautiful Clinch River just outside Knoxville, Tn.

The more folks who are interested - the easier and quicker the details will work themselves out.

The tentative date is Saturday, August 16th, 2008.

If anyone is interested please let us know by responding to this thread and/or sending myself or Jackson an e-mail.

Sure think this would be tons of fun for everyone and we'd like to have as many folks here as possible!

It's also the day after our 1st anniversary and we kinda' thought; "What better way to celebrate than to have a get together for friends from the site where we met?"

Hi Anne. wave

I'd be willing to bet that we could find you a ride easily enough - You're not that far away from from us.

As to pot luck or whatever - We're probably gonna' just hire a caterer and then try to re-coup expenses, but we needed to know first how many could make it.

RE: OBAMA for PRESIDENT and Triskaidekaphobia

RE: Fishing/Hunting

Hunted and fished my entire life - couldn't live without it! thumbs up

RE: How do you save $$$$ on gas?

I've hired illegal immigrants to push my Ramcharger. It's cheaper than buying gas, it doesn't pollute, they're not taking jobs from Americans and I have more time to enjoy the scenery!

RE: OBAMA for PRESIDENT and Triskaidekaphobia

Oh crap, he's back! Quick, somebody get me some facts and a crucifix and maybe some garlic before I scream again! laugh

RE: OBAMA for PRESIDENT and Triskaidekaphobia

I think I need to go build a garage!

RE: OBAMA for PRESIDENT and Triskaidekaphobia

Damn! frustrated Sorry! blushing

Okay, here goes: Indy is also a very wonderful person who almost never puts words in other people's mouths. He is my idol and my ideal and I am a richer person for having known him. I've never seen him speak an unkind word to anyone who didn't deserve it and I've heard that he goes out of his way to pet small animals and young women.
bowing

How was that?

RE: OBAMA for PRESIDENT and Triskaidekaphobia

Occasionally. That's how we met! hug

RE: OBAMA for PRESIDENT and Triskaidekaphobia

Nope, I belong to someone, but not Indy. And my owner er, uh handler feeds me whether I need it or not, just to hear me purr! blushing laugh

RE: OBAMA for PRESIDENT and Triskaidekaphobia

Actually - take it from one who has met him and knows - he's an incorrigible elf with the soul of a child!
