Homemade Face Cream Recipe

WHAT:
3 Tablespoons Shea Butter
1 Tablespoon Apricot (you may use Almond, Avocado or Sesame) Oil
7-8 drops lavender (or other) essential oil*
1 Clean *** oz dark glass or plastic jar with lid, cleaned well.

Note: I actually quadruple this recipe, since I use it so often.

HOW:
Warm the shea butter and apricot oil in a glass dish in the oven (those old-fashioned Pyrex dishes with the glass lid are perfect) at a low heat, about 170 degrees for about eight minutes. You just want the oils warm enough to melt and mix.

Mix your oils thoroughly and add the essential oil. Mix. Pour into your clean jar. Let set up. Use frequently. Should last several months in a temperate climate.

*You can use any essential oil you like. Test the amount by starting with 2 or 3 drops, and increasing to your personal taste.

The federal government has offered one billion dollars in the form of a loan to a Texas company that could build several factories to turn wood chips into a substitute for petroleum-based gasoline and oil. The main advantage appears to be a 70 percent reduction in climate change emissions. Additionally, it does not require the same kinds of extraction methods petroleum does, like offshore and land-based drilling. Another advantage is that it can be blended with existing fuels to reduce their emissions and will work in currently used vehicles, with no modifications. Their fuel can be mixed with conventional gasoline, jet fuel, and diesel. A biofuel like ethanol requires vehicles with engines that can burn it. Renewable crude can also be distributed using the current network of gas stations people are already using, so no modifications or new infrastructure needs to be added.

In August the same company, Kior, Inc. received an interest-free loan from the government for $75 million to build five conversion facilities in Mississippi. One thousand jobs are expected to be created by the construction and running of the biofuel factories.

“This partnership with the State of Mississippi will help us to rapidly scale our technology while creating quality jobs and spurring economic development in the State. We’re excited about making a meaningful and near-term contribution to easing our country’s dependence on foreign oil, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and providing a boost to rural economies,” said Kior, Inc. The company heats wood chips in a chamber, and then applies catalysts in the presence of oxygen which creates liquids and gases that can be converted to fuel. They have worked on some pilot facilities, but so far have not reached a production level on an large-scale industrial level. Just 15 barrels a day have been produced at their Houston facility. Daily motor consumption of gasoline in the United States is almost nine million barrels.

The two main goals of the biofuel production are reducing climate change emissions and dependence on foreign oil. If the loan goes through, it would be the largest in the bioenergy sector ever in the United States.

Becoming

I am a spiritual being, evolving and growing every day, in every way.
I am continually evolving as a spiritual being. This evolutionary process includes trials and errors as well as joys and opportunities. Each experience I encounter, each relationship I share, each insight I receive offers me the opportunity to grow.

From the moment my life began, I have been evolving and growing. As an infant, through trial and error, I learned to crawl, walk and speak. From there, I moved on to more advanced learning experiences. As an adult, day by day, I grow in harmony with the unfoldment of Spirit in me.

It gives me great peace to know that I am a work in progress, growing and evolving to become the person I am meant to be.

I believe that having a Science Forum Category is an excellent idea! All the smarties can hang out there and us dummies can learn from ya!


I also agree that CS should do away with the dead State Forums and create one large USA Forum. I see that CS has combined them already, but you can only view the latest post for each state. A format like we have here, for Int'l Forums would be great!

I do enjoy reading threads from people all around the world too.
But for dating purposes, keeping it on the continent would be more convenient.

God Is Always In Control; I Will Not Doubt

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." - Proverbs 3:5-6

Someone has said that doubt is cancer of the soul. Like a wrecking ball against your house, doubt pounds away and damages the structure of the most important thing about you - what you believe about God.

However, if in times of doubt we take our questions directly to the Lord, then our faith increases. We can't claim we won't doubt; instead, we aim toward knowing what to do with doubts when they do come at us. The promises of God and His character can stand under the most microscopic scrutiny. Doubts should drive us back to God's promises, not cause us to back away from Him! When you say, "I don't know exactly what God is doing, but I know He's in control" —that's evidence you're trusting Him. You don't realize how much you need God's promises until your smooth and easy life suddenly turns sideways. That is the time to dig into God's Word and get something to wrap your faith around.

As we've already seen, God makes two kinds of promises — conditional and unconditional. This one is conditional - you've got to do something. You have got to trust in the Lord with all your heart. You have got to acknowledge Him in all of your ways without leaning on your own understanding. If you do your part, God will do His part. "He will make straight your paths" (Proverbs 3:6b). The wording I memorized as a kid says, "He shall direct thy paths" (KJV). That means He will make your paths smooth — God will make the way passable.

Proverbs 3:5–6 is really quite a commitment on God's part. There are no illusions here. This is God we're talking about. "Is anything too hard for the LORD?" (Genesis 18:14). He can handle anything that's in your path with one hand tied behind His back. A common way we express this is by saying, God is in control.

There are times when all we can see is the hard road and the heavy load. But the Lord promises that if you trust in Him with all your heart, and that if you do not lean on your own understanding, and that if you acknowledge Him in all your ways, then He will make your paths smooth. God will pave the way for you.

I was thinking of this very topic about 5 minutes before finding this thread.

I am going to meet face to face this afternoon with a man I have been talking with from this site, for the very first time.

He has talked of walking, talking and having a picnic in the Park. I will have to close my business so we can do this. I am struggling with this idea right now and thought to myself...
Am I too much of a workaholic and will this interfere with our having a relationship?

I believe that if I truly want a partner, I will have to sacrifice something, and spending time with him must be a priority.

It's time to take time for what makes me happy. Live life for me for a change, instead of for my grown kid and work work work!!

Rep. Steve King’s Quest To Fully Repeal Obama Care

I had lunch Monday with a man who was disapointed that our new Governor Mary Fallin was against Obamacare.

He was concerned with being able to keep his children on his medical care until the age of 26.

I told him, "Let them get a job and provide their own medical care, just like I had to."

He said he had to disagree with me there and made some interesting points.

We live in an extremely small town.
No big businesses.
No jobs with medical care provided.

It made me think...

I feel for him and people like him...

But when I have to consider the amount of taxes involved with Obamacare and the UnConstitutionality of the Bill, I must take my stance. It just does not Fit EVERYONE!!!

We have no Clinic here, or Primary Care Physicians.
EVERYONE goes to the Emergency Room for care!!!

This COSTS TAXPAYERS!!!!

It's just WRONG!!!!


Even though my compassion goes out to those like this man, the Bill does more harm to the entire population than it does good.

People need to read the Bill for themselves, and most do not read it.

I am blessed by the people in my life.
I interact with many people each day, from friends, family and co-workers to sales people, fellow drivers and passersby. While some relationships may not seem especially significant, they provide opportunities for me to positively impact the lives of others.

This must explain even the Audobon Society's confirmation that huge flocks of birds suddenly die, not all too frequently.

I am twisting nothing. I know God very intimately and I have no fear of Him. He has filled me with so much love, overflowing, and His perfect love has cast out ALL Fear!!!

In a deep love relationship with God, there is intimacy. You spend time in His presence, experiencing God in all of His fullness. The Holy Spirit is your teacher. It is He, who tells me to substitute Love for Fear.

Try it!

So why was the USDA poisoning birds in the first place? A Nebraska farmer was apparently complaining that the starlings were defecating in his feed meal. The answer to this conundrum apparently isn't to cover your feed meal but rather call the USDA and ask them to poison thousands of birds.

The USDA complied, apparently agreeing this was a brilliant idea. So they put out a poison called DRC-1339 and allowed thousands of birds to feed on that poison.

Carol Bannerman from USDA Wildlife Services ridiculously claimed the bird kill was also to protect "human health."

"We're doing it to address, in this case, agricultural damage as well as the potential for human health and safety issues," she said. That's just a lie, of course. In what universe do starlings pose a threat to human health and safety?

Remember, these are mass bird killings that are funded with your tax dollars. It all makes you wonder whether the government is, in fact, responsible for many of the other mysterious animal deaths that have been reported across the country (and around the globe).

It also makes you wonder: If the federal government thinks nothing of murdering 4 million living, breathing birds, then what else might they be capable of doing out of a total lack of respect for wildlife?

And if the USDA poisons birds because certain groups become too populous, what do you suppose is planned for when human population grows too large?

First, you are correct, Fear is the exact opposite of Love!!
Perfect Love casts out ALL Fear! God is perfect love.

It's a heart concept, not a head concept. If you will allow yourself to, wrap your heart around that concept. How could anyone not want to be wrapped up in love? Isn't that our purpose of even being on CS? Looking for LOVE!!!

I think that the writers of scripture used and incorrect word, when saying we should FEAR God. Perhaps substituting the word
LOVE everytime it says fear, more would understand? That's what it really means.

God's desire for us is that we would have life and live it in abundance, and in good health. He says, "It is my desire that you prosper, even as your soul prospers". The soul prospers as the individual deepens his experience and personal relationship with God.

When you trust in your physicians instead of in God, you are putting your trust in the wrong place. You can trust God to use your physician to help in your healing, as God is the Healer.
Also, ask God to give you wisdom. A physician can be used by God or he can be used by the powers of darkness. You must have discernment. God gives wisdom to those who ask. Ask and you will receive. Only BELIEVE...
