I contribute to a world where peace prevails. Because I value peace, I release my attachment to how others should be or act. I have faith in Divine Love moving in and through me to guide my relationships. I am at peace within and I share that peace by loving those around me. As love ripples from me into the world, more people than I can possibly imagine are affected.
In 1971 John Lennon wrote "Imagine," a song that expressed his dream of world peace: Imagine all the people / Living life in peace ... You may say I'm a dreamer / But I'm not the only one / I hope someday you'll join us / And the world will be as one.
I join in holding this vision of peace for the world, because I have experienced the peace of God within me.
Let us then pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.--Romans 14:19
I recall watching Bill Clinton read a speech and what he was saying was totally out of character for his beliefs. He began to laugh while he read it and had the look on his face like, "who writes this $h*t?!"
I have noted several politicians giving speeches where they have no idea what they are talking about or where they are. Perhaps they are on drugs??? They sure act like it sometimes. A bunch of goofballs if you ask me!
He not only does not know his geography, but I also recall him stating that he had been to all 57 U.S. states!
Yes, I read about the shooting at the whitehouse earlier. This speech was given on Sunday at a Press Summit for World Leaders. A very poor performance indeed. No shots fired or shoes thrown that day.
Not going there... it is NOT the point of the thread. I thought that perhaps he was reading a speech written for him by someone else, but then I watched the video. Looks as if it comes from within his own head without a teleprompter. He does not seem very alert and this speech is a real struggle for him. Note the facial expressions, he's stressed!
Why is this man continually telling World Leaders that the U.S. is not as advanced as they are? Our conditions are sub-standard and behind times in his eyes. Perhaps a plan to squeeze more money out of the American taxpayers?
Obama fumbles through this speech, it's really quite embarassing. One would think he would have been more prepared and professional for a Summit Meeting!
Nov. 13, 2011: President Obama speaks during his closing press conference at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit near Honolulu, Hawaii.
It's hard to mistake that Hawaiian scenery.
But President Obama apparently forgot where he was during his press conference Sunday on the outskirts of Honolulu -- despite being born there.
The president mistakenly described his location as "Asia" while answering a question about budget cuts.
"When I meet with world leaders, what's striking -- whether it's in Europe or here in Asia -- the kinds of fundamental reforms and changes, both on the revenue side and the public pension side, that other countries are having to make are so much more significant than what we need to do in order to get our books in order," Obama said.
Obama understandably had Asia on the mind, as his press conference came in the middle of the U.S. hosting the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, where representatives from many Asian countries were in attendance.
And, hey, Hawaii is a latecomer, having only been a state since 1959.
Technically, Hawaii isn't in Asia, but neither is it geographically fixed to North America. Because it's a chain of islands, belonging to Polynesia, it is not part of any continent. Politically, however, Congress made sure the 50th state had its own star on the blue field of the U.S. flag representing the Union.
Hawaii is also Obama's birthplace, a fact the president has hammered since the campaign in the face of debunked claims that he wasn't actually born on U.S. soil. The president even referenced Hawaii as his birthplace the day before, reportedly making a crack about those conspiracy theories.
Obama set out Tuesday from Hawaii to Australia. After that, he'll land in Indonesia, which unlike Hawaii is part of Asia proper.
But Obama said Monday he'll try to return to Asia -- er, Hawaii -- for his Christmas and New Year's holiday, according to the Hawaii Reporter.
Got any idea why he called Hawaii, his birthplace, Asia??? Let's discuss it! HL
Hi ooby! I too use ALL of the iobit Free products... Advanced System Care Free Malware Fighter Smart Defrag
I also use AVG Free Edition AND Lavasoft's Ad-Aware. I use Eusing Free Registry Cleaner once a month, it cleans up what Advanced System Care misses.
I install ALL of these programs on the computers I work on, along with a file on the desktop explaining how often to run them. No complaints from my customers so far.
The ones who return with problems are the ones who Never run the maintenance programs!
I do run Zone Alarm on one of my computers and have not had any problems with it, it's great for XP and works much like the program that comes with Vista, which I run in another computer.
I used to run MalwareBytes but had an issue with it so I removed it and went to using iobit.
I would Never use McAfee or Norton. In fact, I remove them from my customers computers.
Most of these programs can be downloaded from the manufacturers website or majorgeeks.
I did not know about the thumb thingy either unil I read your thread.
As we all know, there are many who view the forums who do not post in them. I suppose this is a way those folks can show how they feel about what we say?
Good for them, I don't have a problem with it. I don't blame them for not wanting to be eaten for lunch!
This is why I am trying to separate the words he spoke from the man who said them. True, he is repulsive! It's the message I am interested in here. Someone else may have written his speech?? They do for our president and many others. I don't know... no one has brought this point up for discussion, although I have been waiting for someone to bring it up.
I believe in what you say, But... we would not be able to get them ALL and a remnant would still be here to continue their agenda, just have they have been for thousands of years.
But they left before he starting talking about the nations. It was pre-planned. Now who looks like the chumps??? They could have at least waited to be insulted first, before leaving. Instead, they left a bad smell... just makes you wonder.
Since you brought up prophecy Ray... Let's speak of the 10 horns. They represent Kingdoms at the end times.
You have quoted Revelations written by John. I want to impose Daniels vision which speaks of the feet made up of iron and clay and the 10 toes.
I understand the two prophesies interrelate. The 10 toes being the 10 Kingdoms of the Roman Empire. Iron and clay representing that the empire would crumble but then be restored at a later date, enter globalism today.
The U.S. was not part of the Roman Empire. How can it be a part of the toes at the end? I would think it to be non-exhistant.
Could that mean the U.S. would be destroyed prior to the empire being reunited?
Many indian prophecies tell of nuclear ruin of America. I believe we will not be here in the end, as a major nation.
We have many nations against us and those wanting to destroy us. Why have the major corporations left the U.S., not only for cheaper wage earners and production, but they see the writing on the wall.
Are we ready? The question for each of us to answer within.
Personally, I can't stand the overwhelming smell of too much cologne. A hint of a fragrance is okay.
I prefer the smell of a clean smelling man with perhaps some aftershave like old spice. I hate musk. But as long as he does not smell like onions, geeze, that smells like he needs a shower!!!
Yes, I have seen many just like them. Some used to be state representatives but have lost their seats. Perhaps many more will be replaced soon? Also, have you noticed... their followers act just like them.
I would prefer to walk through life experiencing and sharing peace, love and harmony. Tis so much sweeter not to sew discord. Love changes things and that's change I can believe in!
Well Ray, I will not go as far as you did, to say that I like the guy, as I don't like him as a person or as a world leader, but I did like the words he spoke, his seemingly sincerity, and his passion.
Yes, I caught his total global message, the true message of what globalism should really be motivated towards. If it were, I may be onboard with the idea, however, I am not. I don't want global world citizenship.
I agree he would not be the anti-christ, I would leave that to the Pope. jmo
Thanks for your comment Ray, it's sincerely appreciated.
In answer to your first question here, "Yes" is my answer, if they are lucky. If unlucky, they are killed.
"Yes", I liked the part about people getting along also. So, you are expressing that the man's walk does not match his talk. I agree, but that isn't what I want to discuss, but a good point made. Thanks!
Ah, are you referring to Israel? Yes, he mentioned them quite often and I believe he had quite a bit of anger sent in their direction through the expression of his words, and the Zionist Jews.
As for brotherly love, or any other type of love, if you love, you don't kill, and that includes killing one's self. Yes, lots of words were spoken about love, very nice words we could all live by and perhaps get along?
"We have a very diverse group on CS, from all around the world.
I would really like to know...
What do you think about what he says?"
This is ALL I asked for opinion on. I wrote what you quoted for the very reason that at that time, not one single person had given me an opinion of what the man said in his speech. Instead, they were calling names and putting him down. As the OP of this thread, I have the right to clarify what opinions I would like to receive here.
It's typical really, people here don't read and follow instructions. If people want to diss this man, they need to start their own thread and battle it out there while they bash him.
I am simply clarifying Venus, no need to start bashing on me. Me of all people? Geeze, you make me sound like a bad person. why are you so upset? Only cos I pointed out what my point was? Why so defensive? No reason for it girl, chill.
Also, I work 4 jobs and am rarely on here, so it would be impossible for me to do it often. Perhaps I am misunderstood by people on here, often? I'm quite simple really, just don't read between the lines. I mean what I say, at face value.
I noticed that some left the room before he even got into the meat of the speech. I think they pre-planned it, to leave the room. France was the last to leave, then reporters said they watched the rest of the speech on monitors, lol.
Yes I can, Conrad. Why? Because I see a bigger concept in the words he spoke. Some of the subject matter has been brought to the attention of the U.N. in the recent past, by the indigenious diplomats of the U.N.
It was good to hear it brought up again. Perhaps someone will take a closer look and these bullies will be called on the carpet for it. It's easy to dish it out, but nobody likes to eat crow!
I asked for opinions on a particular speech made by this man.
I did NOT ask for opinions about this MAN.
Take your finger out of your ear missy, it's pretty easy to understand, I am not trying to control opinions at all, but I DO want to hear opinions about the words he spoke.
As for the rest of you, I don't want to see name calling going on.
People have so much to learn about LOVE.
This is a dating site, you should be on your best behavior. How can you appeal with favor to anyone if your heart, words and actions are full of hate?
We should not even hate our enemies. They help us to know what we are made of, lol.
World Peace
Blessed are the Peacemakers for they Shall See God!
