IF SOMEONE ACCUSES SOMEONE IN THE WRONG...

The Lady protest too much ... everyone on here sees my posts... and everyone knows on here that I have no involvement with the individual in question.. I don't even consider him to be a minor friend.. so it was much to my shock, surprise and bewilderment when he came out with this comment about... what would I even lie about.. I don't know the person from Adam, nor to I ever wish to get to know him.. particularly given that I never say anything about him or to him period.. apart from replying to his posts.. with the occassional hello or .. my guess is I expressed a view that he didn't like or agree with and he is gone off in a childish sulk about it.. so given that you know NOTHING about anything to do with this, I would kindly ask you to refrain from even the vague suggestion that there might be some truth in this...

Simply being condecending to posters does not make you a convincing advocate for the cause of substantiating the origins of your beliefs (or lack thereof)... as I said if I were an Athiest or on the fence not knowing what way to go.. I would have jumped over to the HD side of the fence.. purely because he appears to have some thoughts of his own, and he presents some convincing points.. while it may not be your task to 'prove' the existence of God 'technically'.. for the purpose purely of debate do you have anything at all??? to bring to the table apart from condecending remarks...

Everything that happened was meant to happen and everything that will happen is equally a part of Gods overall plan... so I am not saying that Jesus was saying that previous rules etc were all wrong.. they were right for the time and the context that they were in.. just that the Coming of Jesus.. marked a new era a new beginning so to speak... am in the middle of studying so hope can give a better answer later

I must say you are not too compelling on the persuasion or argument front.. I think even if I was an Athiest Mike HD would have converted me to Christianity long before you would have suceeded in affirming my views...

Apart from quoting other sources.. what concrete or indeed even vaguely convincing theories.. scientific or philosophical or otherwise can you contribute

Why indeed would a powerful, money hungry and hypocritical organisation want to censure the truth? Think about it... if indeed this did occur (am dubious to say the least about the recent onslaught against the Bible as a whole.. designed I presume to instal mistrust generally)... it was MAN who did the censoring of GOD's word.. if you think this action originated from God then the logic you are applying is fundamentally flawed... it would be like you writing a book and then deciding yourself to censure certain chapters.. would you not want your readers to receive the WHOLE story?.

Don't believe all that emerges in print... just because something is packaged in a book does not mean it is not to be questioned.. even the Bible has been researched and disected over the centuries.. archaeoligists have spent decades researching locations etc.. and Historians have cross referenced the Bible to other contemporary writings of the time.. many if not most of the locations, people and events in the Bible have been thouroughly scrutinised and have been established to be true... the works of the Prophets also have been examined.. and despite many having come from different eras and locations have been sucessfully tied into one another... I don't expect you to accept my word for it.. look it up? and then draw your own conclusions

In fact I dislike all organised Religion immensely... it feeds into Mans Ego so perfectly and bring about such distruction and distrust in it's wake... if we were to rely on God's word solely (i.e. the Bible) there would have been none of this mess.. while the Bible contemplated spiritual leaders.. referred to mainly as shepherds.. their role was to be teacher and protector and they were never to take the place of God.. even Jesus said 'love God the father first..." and he was the Supreme Shepherd.. the Son of God who sits at the right hand to the father..and who forms part of the father... placing themselves above God and Jesus as a Spiritual authority was mans(and religions) all time greatest flaw.. and the main contributer to much of the evil and devastation that has existed throughout the centuries...

According to the Bible God is the only person we should be praying to in the form of (father, son and holy spirit.. who are all part of the same anyway)

She is nothing even close... she is merely an individual annointed by God to fulfill the devine purpose that she was destined to, that is to bring the Christ Jesus into the world... praying to her and worshipping her has no biblical basis.. in fact, there is very little about her in the bible at all... ..

Makes me distrust the Catholic Church even more.... do they specifically intend to divert our attentions from the truth which is contained in the Bible.. I have long since thought that....

Anyway...nope she is definitely not a God..

I have tried to respond to your question as simply as I could. Here is my answer. Scientific research is based on the idea that everything that takes place is determined by laws of nature, and therefore this holds for the actions of people. For this reason, a research scientist will hardly be inclined to believe that events could be influenced by a prayer, i.e. by a wish addressed to a supernatural Being.
However, it must be admitted that our actual knowledge of these laws is only imperfect and fragmentary, so that, actually, the belief in the existence of basic all-embracing laws in Nature also rests on a sort of faith. All the same this faith has been largely justified so far by the success of scientific research. But, on the other hand, every one who is seriously involved in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the Universe — spirit vastly superior to that of man, and one in the face of which we with our modest powers must feel humble. In this way the pursuit of science leads to a religious feeling of a special sort, which is indeed quite different from the religiosity of someone more naive.

Einstein was NOT an Athiest though he did seem to reject religion and the idea of a personal God... he believed in the Majesty of God through his observations of the order of the universe... here are a few more quotes from Einstein for you...

There are numerous quotes of this nature... He may have not been conventional but he had the intelligent, and was not so arrogant to assume that all that perfection and order came from nothing or was without purpose...

Hiya Moses.. in reality 17 IS very young.. to be honest, I was still very immature even at 21... (some might even say I still am a little )... try to picture for a moment that it is your child..

Ha Ha .. me too... its actually quite hard to avoid them until you get the hang of it.. now I would just try and be honest in as diplomatic way as possible.. not easy!!! just a relatively new thing for me to try and avoid white lies.. whether I can endure this strategy in all situations remains to be seen TBH... I have already had a couple of tiffs with my Mum for being honest.. but she came around and was pleased in the end... thats the thing about honesty as well.. it might sting initially, but most of us ultimately appreciate it in the long run... e.g.. If I looked crap in something.. I would want someone to answer me honestly if I asked.. the truth would probably knock me for six initially but at least I would not be walking around the place oblivious that I look ridiculous..

I have in the past... but since I was baptized recently I have been REALLY trying not to tell even white lies.. when you think about it.. white lies are such an integral part of our life, and the vast majority of the time they don't even serve any purpose.. e.g... answering the phone by saying 'he is at a meeting' (when he is not)... saying 'he is not in the position to take ur call at the moment'... same effect.. no lie... or.. texting someone saying that you are doing something etc when you are too tired to meet up with them..... just text and say ur too tired and will meet up another time.. so many lies are actually completely unecessary when you think about it

no idea what this is all about to be honest... though I do know one thing for sure.. I am NOT a liar.. particularly these days.. no matter how hard it is for me sometimes I still tell the truth... (white lies are harmless, but still better to just be straight)

Would you agree that they should at least have the 'balls' to tell that person what is going on... for e.g. If I were accused of being a liar (which I absolutely am not... I don't even tell white lies these days (though I have in the past)... do you think it is only fair that the person accusing me in the wrong should come clean and tell me what it is I was supposed to have lied about.. ...I don't care very much for this individual, but I don NOT take to kindly to being accused in the wrong..

I haven't had visions relating to the Bible per se.. though I had received little 'wisdoms' which when I did start reading the Bible it sorta blew me away...

Have a look at my 'Existence of God v Science' thread... it is true that initially he didn't but in his later years he had to concede due to the sheer perfection and majesty of the universe as well as its by its origins that it had to have been created by God.. have to go to work now... will take this up with you later..
