I think there are probably a few people here who would change their minds if they were actually in the position of being in love with someone from another country (or a faraway state for those in the US. Love has a funny habit of making us see things differently.

I knew a guy lived in a foreign country for 7 months. he met and fell in love with a woman who told him the first day they met that she was born there and she would die there and would never leave it.

Eventually he had to return home to the UK for work. It was not practical for him to live there because of the language barrier and work situation. He told her he would not push her and he would respect whatever decision she came to about the future. One and a half years later they were married and she is now living in the UK.

Remember the Mail Order Brides in the early 1800's here in USA and OZ?

Those folks wrote to each other and reaches a commitment in the letters. The meeting was often the wedding.

Online is not much different.

When I was in my LDR, we had such an agreement and I Honoured it.
I was just as commited as if we had met.

I would not cheat by communicating with an other man while in an LDR, JMHO.

If we had an agreement to be exclusive, and he communicated with others, I would be wary of continuing further.

Same for me. Also, in my case my dogs are more than dogs. They are my ears. I would never part with any of my animals. If the guy has a problem then we are not compatable. Simple. I had my last two Shepherd mixes until they died at 19 and 21 yrs of age. Who would have taken a dog that old? No one. So I should have put them down for a man? I think not.

A man can and sometimes will leave you when the going gets rough. A pet licks away your tears when said man makes you cry in your sleep. I will keep the Pets thank-you. If a man wishes to join us, He will be welcome.

If its for health reasons, I think so. But if its for their own shelfishness, NO!!
I gave away a cat i had for 7yrs for a relationship. All because it was given to me by an ex, and the new gf didnt want nothing to do with it. (I should of run then). In short...Think long and hard before you make that decision.[/quote]

Sounds like my date from Hell During my Frosh year @ College. I never went out until the nexzt year after that one. A memory I could have done with out.
