Every country brings something unique to the table and I don't see where one is any brighter or better than another. I think the US made many revolutionary advances thanks to Bell Labs, the old R&D arm of AT&T. A fabulous, and very benevolent company. Many don't remember, but I was born and raised on it so it's familiar to me. What a pity the government went and broke the company up.
Among the many advances... radio astronomy the transistor the laser information theory the UNIX operating system the C programming language and the C++ programming language.
