Truly I was not directing my comments to you. The truth is I just recently signed on and have only now finished reading the entire forum. What I said was a bit out of context in terms of your original post...but I'm happy if it added a different perspective just because I do think it's true...It's really so much easier to look for the good things instead of the bad.
We sure do have some crazy laws and moronic pencil pushers. Can't see the forest for the trees. It's insane and I think at least here in the States people are finally pushed to the point of really wanting to get involved. I hope that's true, because we really need a national attitude adjustment and a complete overhaul of Washington. What I would really like to see is a Corporate Hatchetman to get elected who would just go in and clean house once and for all... But it probably won't happen in my lifetime. But we can at least start working together to get the ball rolling.
In the meantime, I'll push for common sense. The internet is a powerful NEW tool. If all of us as individuals across the many borders can work together instead of bickering, maybe we could create a sense of unity that would eventually carry through to our governments. Sh##. Stranger things have happened. Twenty years ago nobody could even envision the internet and look where we are now!
Hmmm....when I start getting this philosophical, it's time for a ride!
Thank you, V...and it's very much the same with you.
I think if we were all to stop for a minute and consider the fact that lot's of people here are hurting, it might tone down some of the ugliness. Not all, of course...and it's fun to have the occasional wicked thread But really...sometimes it's so easy to see where the OP, or someone on the forums...is obviously in a world of hurt. What's to be gained by sticking a daggar in their hearts just for a little comic relief? Life's too frigging short!
It's a journey. You have to let the hurt in and acknowledge it before you can really move on. I don't think of it as something that should be "buried" and ignored, but rather as a springboard to something better down the road. A sense of richness and appreciation for the next good thing, and something you would not fully understand if you had not been through the fire...
It's like a big, giant filter box. It doesn't take long to discern the good people from the flakes. I just basicaly filter out the ones who play games on only focus on the good people. No harm, no foul...
Imagine we stopped manufacturing cars because there was one fatal accident.
Yes, we need to practice extreme caution. But none of this would have happened if politics and the environmentalist's had not forced them way out in the ocean where it's much more difficult to control the spillage.
When will we all stop legislating on political expediency and start focusing on common sense?'
