RE: Romney and Ryan really better than Obama and Biden benefiting most Americans?

No. You are definitely not alone. I've had several family members in similar situations, and they are all dire! Of course it's affected you. How could it not when suddenly you have to worry about every little thing after years of being self-sufficient. It just stinks!

Let's just say there are a WHOLE LOT more lies coming from the left than the right. The left should be writing mythology they are so prevalent.

RE: Romney and Ryan really better than Obama and Biden benefiting most Americans?

They are not lying Dude. It's a matter of public record anyway. doh

RE: Romney and Ryan really better than Obama and Biden benefiting most Americans?

laugh laugh laugh The New York Times???

In a recent Pew poll, the legendary paper of record was voted less “believable” than ABC News, the Wall Street Journal, CNN, NBC news, and CBS News. What a comedown for the Grey Lady.

Not only is the paper considered less trustworthy than most others news organizations, the decline has been sharp. The average believability of the 13 news organizations reviewed was 56%; the Times came in at 49%. (The Wall Street Journal comes in at 58%, by comparison.) Whereas trust in all those outfits has dropped in recent years, the Times has fared worse than most. Since 2010, their rating has sunk from 58 to 49.

For a paper that boasts a proud heritage and certainly a devoted following among liberals, this should be worrisome.

RE: Romney and Ryan really better than Obama and Biden benefiting most Americans?

Dude...

Republicans have passed more than 30 jobs bills that remove barriers to job growth, cut red tape, and help keep jobs in America (and bring home some of the jobs that have gone overseas). These bills remain blocked by Senate Democrats

RE: O made this economy a mess not Bush

But it's the Senate that really ticks me off. They are currently sitting on some 240 bills passed by the house - and some 30 of them are jobs bills. But old Harry Reid just isn't going to give and inch because it's a republican congress now.... but amazingly when it was the democratic congress that pushed through Obamacare, he found time to hear all the arguments.

very mad

RE: O made this economy a mess not Bush

I totally agree with you there! applause

RE: Romney and Ryan really better than Obama and Biden benefiting most Americans?

Dude, you just aren't seeing the whole picture here. Do you know where companies like Bain get the money to buy these FAILING companies??? The INVESTORS are primarily pension funds, charities and universities. Which means they are the BENEFICIARIES.

Furthermore, these are companies that are failing. They are going to be completely shut down if someone does not intervene. It's sad to have to lay off 100 people, but if it saves 700 jobs it's better than losing all 800 jobs.

And personally I have a lot more faith in a man who is adept at observing the situation and figuring out what's wrong and then fixing it. Obama gets a big ZERO on that score, and it shows.

RE: O made this economy a mess not Bush

I think Romney promoting bringing America back is a bit more realistic than Obama telling us he is going to stop the oceans from rising. laugh

But seriously, I do agree with much of what your saying - but I would also say that there are six million more people out of work today than there were the day Obama took office. That's four years ago, no 40. Our population hasn't changed that much. dunno

But one HUGE problem we are going to have is cutting down all the senseless regulations and REPLACING them with good regulations that actuall work. Something we can all read and understand. In the past all the EPA and other government agencies has done is pile regulation on top of regulation on top of regulation, to the point where we are tied up in knots and you need a PhD just to sort through them. This is counter-productive and also not necessarily good for the environment or the people. For example, at least one very large American Corporation that I know of cannot throw out a bottle of Windex without treating it as "hazardous waste." Now if Windex bottles are hazardous, I'm all for treating them as such...but somebody needs to tell the all the people and not just the companies. Otherwise, we are not doing a good job of protecting our environment, right?

Like Harry said, most of the laws were the product of some obscure or powerful lobbiest or special interest group. Now that's just wrong. Also they do it for political or monetary gain (the government LOVES to stick fees into every little rule). Obama, in particular, likes to use the EPA as his personal army, penalizing anyone who dares criticize him.

Either way, somebody needs to get in the trenches and clean up the mess of the last 10 administrations. We need S M A R T legislation, not stupid laws that just waste time and money.

RE: Arghhh ,Americans

laugh Funny man! laugh

RE: O made this economy a mess not Bush

True enough, Harry. But I think we are at the tipping point these days. One thing we have to thank Obama for is that he has really awakened the electorate, many of whom now agree that we need to drastically shrink our government. It's a bit like a new marketing message though...we'll have to pound the hammer many times before the nail sinks in. laugh

RE: O made this economy a mess not Bush

Well don't blow your stack until after the election when we see what happens. If Obama gets re-elected, THEN you can worry. Otherwise, steady as she goes. bouquet

RE: O made this economy a mess not Bush

Plus you have to remember that what you see here on these threads is not really indicative of the American population. You hear a TOTALLY different story on the streets where people are fed fu##ing up with this administration and what it's done.

RE: O made this economy a mess not Bush

Just ask any tea party member. wink

Seriously, I think there are many - and many of them are from the tea party. Rubio is a good example.

RE: O made this economy a mess not Bush

There is a way, and Americans are pretty good at digging in and rolling up our sleeves when necessary. Stubborn as Aussies in that regard.

The key is going to be getting O'Bummer out of office, for he surely has damaged us with his policies.

RE: O made this economy a mess not Bush

No. Just the opposite. Here it is again.

And just when you think they couldn't be anymore stupid...

"The economy needs another shot of Federal Reserve stimulus and this time around, it needs it indefinitely, said Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco President John Williams

...further easing should come on an open-ended basis, meaning the Fed would announce plans to do what it takes as long as it takes to get the economy going again (meaning we want to continue throwing gasoline on the fire - and we hope you are stupid enough to let us).

Economists have pointed out that quantitative easing carries diminishing returns, meaning the more it is used the less effective it is since it works by pushing down interest rates, which are already low enough as it is, though Williams suggested otherwise.

A recent CNNMoney survey of investment strategists finds that 93 percent said they don’t think the Federal Reserve should announce more stimulus at its next meeting, while 77 percent of economists surveyed agreed.

RE: Romney and Ryan really better than Obama and Biden benefiting most Americans?

Desperate Democrats are handing out tickets to students and volunteers in a scramble to fill seats for President Barack Obama’s Thursday-night accepting nomination to a second term, according to The Associated Press.

The campaign needs to fill 74,000-seat Bank of America stadium to capacity when Obama speaks.

Doling out of tickets to just about anyone is a far cry from the “hope and change” fervor that permeated the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver.

Even Obama’s own aides agree there is a palpable enthusiasm deficit.

Democrats have been worried for months over whether Obama could fill the stadium. Crowds at campaign rallies in swing states have been notably thin, according to AP. Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts also will speak Thursday night.

The Obama campaign has tended toward smaller venues after being unable to fill the arena for its kickoff rally in Columbus, Ohio, leaving thousands of empty seats, Politico reported.

Several large black churches in South Carolina are sending busloads of members to the Thursday-night event; Duke University is busing in 100 students; and several thousand tickets have been given to new campaign volunteers in North Carolina. Tens of thousands of other tickets have been handed out to the public on a first-come, first-served basis.

RE: Bill Cosby "I'm 83 and Tired"

Only thing is Bill Cosby didn't write it - a Mass. State Senator and US Marine Corp. veteran wrote it. I don't now how it came to be attributed to Cosby but I've seen it before...

RE: O made this economy a mess not Bush

That probably will never happen now that the country has been over run by low level government employees who get paid for sitting on their butts eating bon bons.

RE: O made this economy a mess not Bush

They didn't just encourage the banks, they flat-out forced the banks to make the loans or they would not get their permits to operate. The government under Jimmy Carter and the Community Reinvestmet Act told the banks that they had to make a certain quota of these loans because Jimmy thought everyone should have the right to own a home regardless of their ability to pay. During that time MANY bankers testified before congress and told them it was a foolish proposition. Only one supported the program.

Clinton made the situation worse by giving more teeth to the bill.

In truth, McCain and Bush were among the most vocal opponents and tried on numerous occasions to create more oversight to Freddie and Fannie, who backed the loans. Every time they were voted down by a party line vote from the dems.

If the government had not meddled in the private sector, and had not started telling the banks how to run their business, who knows if we would have even had a problem?

RE: Romney and Ryan really better than Obama and Biden benefiting most Americans?

You're right. It's not just a lifetime promise broken, but it's effecting those who are among the weakest.

I was listening to a urologist on the radio this afternoon and he was talking about men's psa tests and how there are multiple treatments available to everyone right now depending on the numbers or score men receive. He said one concern about Obamacare is that they are now going to "group" these scores into one treatment module or another thereby eliminating what could be CRITICAL to recovery or survival.

It's a mess.
